Captain Jocoza sent Blue Squad to guard a caravan. A high priority mission, she said. She placed her trust in the five of us and we let her down within the day. The caravan was ambushed by pygmies with blowguns, many elevated and already in position for the takedown. It was a highly-coordinated ambush and we fell to it.
Apparently, we swapped hands while we were unconscious, traded to a tribe of tol'vir named the Neferset. We made an ally of a fellow captive: Prince Nadun, of the Ramkahen tribe. Silvestre and Alysson were able to confirm that the Neferset were working with an air djinn, an agent of Deathwing, who removed the effects of the Curse of Flesh from a few of the tol'vir. After our escape, we were introduced to King Phaoris. I rather like this royal family, even if Alysson was disappointed at the lack of princesses.
It was very simple for the squad to change objectives after our failure as caravan guards, but I am still furious at our ineptitude.
Everyone but Azizia and I seem to be suffering greatly in the heat. It is certainly uncomfortable for me, but I am not cooking alive in my armor the way the men were today. Dane didn't bring enough sunscreen. No one complained, as usual, but I almost wish they had. Azizia likes the aesthetic of tol'vir architecture, as do I. Perhaps we shall spend some time together during the week.
I noticed Colson accepting money, rather than the medallion, as his reward from the king. It seemed an odd choice for him. There must be something I am overlooking. Oh, Mordecai.
Silvestre and Azizia both offered to… help, if there was "anything to be done about the anger". It seemed to me a very strange offer - what did they think I would say? Instead I turned myself into ice sculptures for twenty minutes and screamed into the ice until I no longer felt like screaming. It was reasonably effective.
