Estel Herald

Subsequent to the Red String Interview

A couple of days into the new year, a harried-seeming probate clerk turns up at the residence of Estel Herald with paperwork confirming transfer of a savings account bequeathed to her by her recently-deceased aunt, Fianna Barbour. The balance is modest: It isn't a pearl-clutching chunk of change, but a firm little cushion for the day-to-day if managed thriftily.

More importantly, the interest rate on the account is non-standard and exceptionally good. The clerk explains that Aunt Fianna must have made some kind of special arrangement with the bank somehow, which is why the entire account is being bequeathed rather than just the money from within it; the inheritance is as much the excellent fixed interest rate as it is the modest balance. Money in the account will continue to compound at a handsome rate if left to its own devices.

Anyone who tries to run it down will find that the account dates back two decades to the post-war reconstruction of the city (during which time interest rates were very good, due to the inflation crisis), and that the holder's name was indeed and has always been Fianna Barbour.

(There is some confusion about missing paperwork, some gaps and irregularities, but everything that is on file seems in order.)

There has never been record of a Fianna Barbour in the Stormwind City Census.
