Dear Cobalt Company and Associates:

Thanks to everyone who has contacted me. For many others, I have received word indirectly of your whereabouts and safety. Cobalt Company has had few permanent casualties from the latest calamity, but I must inform you with this letter about the losses of which I am currently aware.

Torvald Fauntleroy was last seen in Westfall, helping during the emergence of a sinkhole that I’m told is now referred to as the ‘raging chasm’. Torvald rescued several people from certain death, before witnesses report that he ultimately fell himself. This level of heroism and selflessness is what I have come to expect from Torvald, and I hope that he will be remembered for that and for his perpetual good cheer.

Cognitia Fizzthingle was at Steamwheedle Port when Tanaris was flooded. I heard from her just before the cataclysm, but I have not been able to locate her since. I expect she was on the beach, enjoying the beginning of warm weather. I am forced to conclude that she was lost when the water swept through. Nish leaves behind her baby, born in April, and plans for an upcoming Start of Summer Party. The joy she always took in life was precious to those who loved her, especially in these dark times, and I am sure I am not the only one who will miss her desperately.

Moving into the future, Cobalt Company’s disaster relief efforts are getting underway now in Westfall and Darkshore. Westfall is primarily in a humanitarian crisis, with problems of crime and homelessness, but of course they’ve also got the giant sinkhole. In Darkshore, I regret to inform those who are not aware that we have also lost Auberdine to the cataclysm. Our team is based in the new port village of Lor’danel while they assist the survivors.

Following the Dark Iron dwarf attack on the Ironforge Airfield, recall that Cobalt Company had also sent our Cobalt Blade team into the Searing Gorge. It seems that many of the Dark Irons in the gorge around Blackrock Mountain have fallen back into elemental worship and are seeking a new master. We are dedicated to working with the Thorium Brotherhood to ensure this does not get out of hand.

Finally, I must urge everyone to stay well clear of the Hillsbrad Foothills. I personally took part in an exploratory mission, and I can report that the Forsaken forces are entrenched and should be considered extremely dangerous.

Everyone, please be careful out there in these tumultuous times!

At your service, as always,
Captain Jo Sparkwire

The copy of the newsletter that goes to Emerine includes the following note.

Dear Emerine,

I am glad you got better, and I will advise others to keep an eye out! I don’t use a wig myself, but there are a few good shops I know of in Stormwind. See list included.

Best,
Jo

The copy of the newsletter that goes to Alaisa contains the following note.

Dear Alaisa,

I would be happy to interview your brother, and I’m sure the other officers will feel similarly. That he comes with your approval and Lucy’s likely means it will be an easy decision. I only wish she were still here to be able to make that introduction.

Best,
Jo
