Jocoza

Dear Cobalt Company and Associates:

Happy New Year! I hope Year 28 treats us all even better than Year 27! My new year’s resolution is to see the end of the Lich King. That, and to eat more vegetables.

Alliance News

Things have been fairly quiet this past week, as it seems most hostilities have calmed down for the holidays. I suppose the Scourge does not celebrate Winter Veil and the New Year, but surely orcs and trolls do just as much as gnomes and dwarves.

Company News

Our work continued, amidst the celebrations. I have some sad news to report from Blue Squad - the keeper Thorim and his drake Veranus have been taken captive by his cowardly brother Loken. Our squad assisted him as best we could, mending fences with the frost giants and helping him recover his hammer Krolmir. Once armed and armored, Thorim challenged his brother to single combat, but Loken cheated and used spectral tentacles (Ulduar corruption?) to overpower him. Thanks to our squad, though, Thorim is not without allies. In addition to Cobalt, the Sons of Hodir and I expect also the Hyldnir will be eager to rescue him. For Cobalt’s part, we are likely to soon go after Loken ourselves.

White Squad, on the other hand, have approached Loken’s operations from a different angle. They have continued to assist the earthen in their fight against Loken’s stormforged iron dwarves. In the process they came across an odd alloy that a mechagnome in Mimir’s Workshop confirmed is a combination of iron and an exceptionally pure saronite. Yes, saronite is still causing problems. My conclusion from this is that the corruption in this area is likely Old God related, and maybe he’s got tentacles (see above). A leader of the stormforged iron dwarves, Valduran, had been using this alloy to construct some kind of iron colossus. Our team defeated Valduran, but the colossus remains to be handled.

At your service, as always,
