The Cobalt Blade retrieved the disguised book, Mysteries of the Old Gods, from the Scarlet Monastery library. It contains considerable lore, speculation, and research on the Old Gods and their cults, all of it is highly academic and requiring additional context to fully understand. However, eventually Arthur and Vesyllah are able to locate the relevant section on the Seed of Eternal Endings and the Elixir of Beginnings. The passage is transcribed and copies distributed to each member of the Blade.

It is unfortunate that the best sources for information on the Old Gods are their very worshippers. Damina Krawse of the Twilight's Hammer is one such example. She was seemingly gifted with the power of prophecy by her dark masters. More likely she was simply a vessel through which they communicated their plans. Her manuscripts were her attempts to understand and translate the Old Gods' commands. Though the manuscripts themselves have been lost, I had the opportunity to study them once, and what they convey is most dire.

Krawse spoke of a creation of the Old Gods — a powerful object of pure Void she called the Seed of Eternal Endings. When planted in the earth, the Seed would corrupt the land with the Old Gods' powers of entropy and darkness. This "sanctified" ground would become an ideal place for the rituals of the Old Gods' cults. I believe many of the places we have identified as Twilight's Hammer ritual sites were originally prepared with the Seed.

To her credit, as much as one can give to such a vile heathen, Krawse gave warnings about the Seed. One of her many visions about the Seed seemed to indicate it could be used to taint and infect sacred sites of what she called the "World-Seeders". (It seems to me that making a "Seed of Eternal Endings" was a deliberate mockery of this notion of World-Seeders.) After consulting with Brother Darrow I believe these entities may be the fabled Titans. Krawse's vision suggested that using the Seed within one of these sites could somehow turn the Titans' own devices against them, even somehow reaching the Titans wherever they are.

Based on Krawse's vision, many of the Hammer began to see the Seed of Eternal Endings as a weapon intended to be used exactly this way. They ignored Krawse's retractions in her final manuscript. She cautioned that her interpretation of her vision was uncertain, and she sensed great danger in incurring the wrath of the "World-Seeders". She believed it was possible that her vision of the Seed's roots reaching out to the Titans was not instructions, but a warning against using it this way. She feared that doing so would only draw the attention, and the ire, of the Titans, who might wipe out Azeroth itself once they realized something as dangerous as the Seed had been created.

Furthermore, Krawse feared that the temples might possess the means to destroy the Seed. She was waiting for more visions to clarify what she saw, but her manuscripts ended before any further entries were added, presumably due to her demise.

It is imperative that the Scarlet Brotherhood takes possession of the Seed of Eternal Endings and destroys it. All that we know so far is that it was most likely created by servants of Onyxia, and after it was formed, it was placed into a unique gnomish lockbox to contain its power. Were it not for that lockbox we might find a way to track the effects of its presence, as it continuously saps energy from everything around it. So, if we cannot track the Seed, we must locate the box.

In the following pages, I have included details on the creation of an elixir that I believe will unravel the Seed's corporeal state if applied to it. However, in this I find myself reluctantly in agreement with Damina Krawse. The elixir alone will not destroy the Seed. Once the Seed is doused in the elixir, it should begin to collapse on itself, the pure Void no longer able to sustain a permanent form. But in doing so the Seed will draw in enormous energy from any nearby source available in an attempt to preserve itself. So it is vital that the Seed be destroyed in a location that can provide sufficient energy to avoid widespread death and calamity. In my opinion, a sacred site of the Titans would be ideal.
