Jocoza

Dear Cobalt Company and Associates:

I hope you all enjoy some time off for Winter Veil. The Storm Peaks sure are thematically snowy enough for the season, aren’t they? I hope to see you all return refreshed for more titanic work in the new year!

Alliance News

More on this below, but the Explorer’s League and the Alliance are setting up a research post near Ulduar, to continue investigations into the area. Thus, we now have a convenient base nearby, with a gryphon master and all the amenities you’ve come to expect from an Explorer’s League camp.

Company News

Preceding the above news, our White Squad ventured into one of the halls of Ulduar to meet with Brann Bronzebeard and make fascinating discoveries. I cannot oversell that point, truly fascinating. This follows up on information our company uncovered in Uldaman, regarding the nature of what caused earthen to differentiate into dwarves and so on. It turns out, it was the Old Gods that destabilized the matrix! By which I mean, made us into fleshy peoples. The ‘Creators’ determined that destroying the Old Gods would destroy the host - Azeroth - and so they were contained instead. I guess that means we should also probably not kill them. Anyway, there were protectors put in place (e.g. giants), and if I understand this correctly, this ‘Loken’ we’ve been hearing about both started and stopped a war between them. He also made the earthen, the giants, and the vrykul all fall asleep for thousands of years. It’s amazing to see some of these missing pieces of information filled in!

Blue Squad has been continuing on their own path towards this Loken. They’re still helping Thorim recover all the things he lost in his grief, including his drake steed Veranus, his friendship with the Sons of Hodir, and his trusty hammer Krolmir. The first goal has been accomplished, the second is well on its way, and the third is a work in progress. To win over the Sons of Hodir, the squad recovered the fragments of Hodir’s horn from the battleground of Thunderfall. This is where a battle between giants and frostborn dwarves was frozen in place from the power of Thorim’s axe, thrown in anger. The Sons of Hodir are going to use the fragments to create a memorial. In addition, our squad took out the broodmother of the jormungar, an invasive species that has been killing the bears of the Hibernal Cavern. This is surely appreciated by the Sons of Hodir and the Hyldnir, who rely on those bears as war mounts. I expect the Sons will soon trust us enough to tell us what they know of Krolmir.

At your service, as always,
