Arc: Season 10

Prospector Brannagen Stillwall Paluuva

The image of Paluuva coalesces into focus above the crystal. She is standing some distance from the recorder at first, turned away from it as she is hunched over something she seems to be writing on, her tail swishing gently. She glances back.

Oh! Forgive me, I nearly forgot I had activated the crystal.

She picks up the journal she was writing in, then approaches and seats herself before the crystal, appearing now in bust.

I have something remarkable to tell you, Brannagen. Possibly even more astonishing than the discovery of Brann Bronzebeard's journal. But this news may be related, as it pertains to another Bronzebeard.

Today, White Squad investigated a haunted cavern being guarded by the Scarlet Onslaught…who may be under the influence of the Scourge or some other dark power. But that is another discussion. Within the cave, we discovered a strange altar and several discarded weapons. An axe and two hammers. One of the hammers was quite high quality and bore Alliance markings.

We'd gone there on a mission given to us by a seer, who provided us with a scrying stone. What it revealed…

Paluuva puts a hand to her chest, taking a breath as if overwhelmed for a moment.

It was Arthas…Prince Arthas Menethil, when he was still human…and his companion, Muradin Bronzebeard. We witnessed their discovery of the Lich King's cursed blade, Frostmourne. Muradin translated the inscription on the alter. It reads as follows:

She looks down to her journal and recites.

'Whomsoever takes up this blade shall wield power eternal. Just as the blade rends flesh, so must power scar the spirit.'

She lifts her journal into view, displaying a sketch of the altar with the inscription.

Muradin realized immediately that it meant the blade was cursed, and tried to warn Arthas away, but the prince was obsessed with vengeance and would not listen. He called on the spirits of the cavern, promising to pay any price to save his people. In that moment, a shard of ice fell from the ceiling and struck Muradin down. Arthas seized the sword and left the cave, leaving his friend for dead.

But this is what I find most interesting. After Arthas left, Muradin stirred, mumbling in confusion about where he was, and even who he was.

Paluuva lights up with excitement, beaming at the viewer.

Bran, Muradin survived that encounter. He may yet live! Though he may have no memory of who he is.

We are investigating the matter, asking around about any dwarves who may have lost their memory. But I suspect it will not be so easy. All the same, this is an incredible discovery and may be the first step to finding another lost Bronzebeard.

I miss you dearly, my friend. I hope we will have the opportunity to see one another again soon. Archenon poros.

With a hand lifted as if to reach out and touch him, the image dissipates.
