The gala was awfully fun and I’m so glad you were there, what a lovely time! Thank you ever so much for coming to support.

I have the most delightful news, you’ll never believe — Shay’s only gone and gotten engaged to the Duchess Esprit, is what! It’s really the cleverest match; I’m expecting Himself to be pleased, as I think it opens some rather nice connections for us, so I’ll be able to do a marvelous lot more ferreting.

At any rate, it’s very tidy timing for the House race as well — you may congratulate me on my brilliance later — and I’m trying not to be very gauche and announce it or anything, but it would be awfully nice for the word to ripple gracefully outward, as it were. You will absolutely not believe the most astonishing thing that has happened this week! In all of the absolute whirl of this election business, while I was hardly paying attention to what he was getting up to, Siamus only went and proposed to the Duchess Esprit, and she has accepted him. Can you even imagine?

I am ever-so-grateful to you for performing at the Gala. It was such a lovely concert, and how delightful of Lady Aubrienna to join in! The two of you ought to perform together more often; perhaps I shall take up an instrument and we can make a little trio of it. (That is a joke, I am absolutely unmusical in every way.)

Are you still interested in volunteering at the Children’s Home? Perhaps you and I should go and talk to Lady Alwynneria about it together sometime? You could give music lessons, and I could give lessons in… clapping politely, or something, I suppose. I really ought to find a talent someday.

Give Lord Tennerow my best and don’t tell him that I told you to ask when he’s proposing to Lady Aubrienna. Do tell him that engagement is all the rage right now, perhaps.
