Sandy steps out of his mother’s house, smelling the smells of the festivities still lingering through the air. He looks at the sun shining, which blinds him a little but that’s okay, the rays of the sun are pretty anyway! He blinks a few times, staring at the ground, trying to get his full vision back then begins making his way through the crowd.

Everything looks and sounds so nice around him. The smells of the delicious food, the children playing joyfully everywhere, the music, the slight breeze hitting his skin and softening the feeling of the sun on his face. Everything is perfect today! And it’s only going to get better, as he’s about to join some of his friends at the Cobalt Company open house, to catch up with everyone! The young man hasn’t felt this great in a while. It has been a difficult couple of months, but every day he wakes up a little better.

And today, he woke up feeling great. He woke up to birds chippering outside his window and to Dragon’s loud answer to them, the Spellbond’s butler cooked a delicious breakfast, and Sandy took a long, warm bath with Bubble the rat swimming in a little bowl of water next to him… Everything is off to a great start!
Sandy walks deeper into the streets of Stormwind, slowly heading towards the Dwarven district. The longer he walks, the fewer people he crosses paths with, but the brightness of his smile just doesn’t seem to fade away. After he crosses the bridge over the canals, the streets seem to grow silent, now a little too far for the echoes of the festivities to reach his ears. Things seem to darken slightly around him. Was that cloud always there, covering the sun? He misses the sensation of the sun on his skin already, the hairs on his arm raising in a shiver as the previously nice breeze gets colder in the shade.

A noise. Something bumped against one of the crates people left near. He turns around but sees nothing.

No, Sandy changes his mind after thinking about it. He did see something. Something moving behind the crates. A shadow. He decides to ignore it and takes another step toward the Dwarven District.

No, he changes his mind again. He turns around, now heading for the crates. He approaches, noticing the shadow moving again. His palms get sweaty, and he takes a long, ragged breath as his hands begin to shake. It’s not too late to turn back and go towards his friend he thinks. He only has time to think it, however.

A noise. Another one, from behind him this time. A soft, sweet chuckle. Sandy turns around again, and he has barely any time before a succubus headbutts him. As he holds his bleeding nose with a hand and staggers back, he hears another noise, coming from the crates again. He doesn’t have the time to react before his vision gets entirely obscured and he feels the rope of the bag around his head tightening. He gets hit behind the head with something… was it wood, or metal? He shakes his head inside the bag, he doesn’t care what material that was. He just feels something getting warmer around where he was hit. He doesn’t know what, though. Sandy feels his body being picked up and thrown into a boat. He feels warm, now, comfy in the blanket that’s thrown over him. After the hits he took made him dizzy, it feels nice to just lie in a blanket. He feels another hit on his head. The young man doesn’t have the time to really process this one as he falls unconscious, but he just knows that one was a hoof. It had to be.

A good nap after his nice bath and his great morning. That’s just what Sandy needed.
