Chain: Is This Your Card?
Written on a scrap of thin leather, rolled tightly into a tube containing several meaningless invoices and other leather 'samples.' The handwriting is unfamiliar, a blocky and swooping font. There’s no sign of return address and it is unsigned, except for a smudge at the bottom that looks like a shadow, a hint of a shape like a noose.
The oddity is that for some reason, all the leather is a hazy, blotchy pink.
I asked her to marry me. Or she asked me. Maybe both.
We said yes.
