Cobalt Blade,

It seems our recent success in the Wailing Caverns has put me into a slight more positive light with my order. That, or they don't mind sacrificing me in a doomed mission. Either way, they've "requested" my assistance with something pretty big. Like I don't have more important things to do.

I've enclosed a copy of a letter that was found on the body of a Darnassian spy who has been working in concert with the Argent Dawn Crusade to investigate Twilight's Hammer activity in northwestern Kalimdor. The rest is self-explanatory.

I'm not used to asking for help. So, I'm just assuming you will.

I have urgent news about the Twilight Hammer's activities. The sect I am embedded with has located an egg of Aku'mai, the pet of the Old Gods they previously protected in Blackfathom Deeps.

The cult is returning to Blackfathom to hatch the egg and resume their plans. They believe something has changed this time. There are whispers that a prophecy is coming to pass. I don't have all the details and I did not have time to learn them, as I was discovered and had to flee. All I know is that one of their seers informed their leaders that "the seed has been found", and this revelation convinced them it was time to move forward. At first I thought the seed was the egg, but apparently this is not the case. Whatever the seed is, it seems to have triggered this prophecy that convinced them the Spawn of Aku'mai should be born.

I suggest seeking out Gerrig Bonegrip in Ironforge to learn more about this prophecy. Be careful, as he is a member of the cult. However, he is a collector of lore, particularly that related to the Hammer, and he's very proud of his knowledge. Use that pride against him. His knowledge can be useful if he believes you are ignorant of his true allegiance or part of the cult yourself.

I am at sea as I write this, unsure if I will reach Auberdine before my wounds take me. I just pray that my boat is found by our people in time. If I do not survive and you discover this letter, please see that it reaches the Temple of Elune and Dawnwatcher Shaedlass in Darnassus. They will know what to do.
