Dear Cobalt Company and Associates:
The mail is working! As a result, I will now take over writing the Company's newsletter once again! I am delighted to say that we have no reported casualties so far in Northrend - everyone has made it through our first batch of missions safely.
I am also happy to report that if you would like to visit friends who were on the other boat, the ferry between the Howling Fjord and the Borean Tundra is also open! On the Tundra side, it leaves from Unu'pe, and from the Howling Fjord side it leaves from Kamagua. There's a stop-over in Mo'aki Harbor in Dragonblight, where you'll need to swap to a new turtle. Let me know if you need more explanation!
Alliance and Company News
Blue Squad has been following a directive from the 7th Legion to assist the gnomes up at the Fizzcrank Airstrip. The gnomes have uncovered a machine, Gearmaster Mechazod, who claims to be the original form of gnome, a 'mechagnome', created by the Grand Architect. This Gearmaster has been trying to rid my people of the 'curse of flesh' by turning them into machines, but Blue Squad has been helpfully 'recursing' us. Our squad has also dismantled the Gearmaster. This does not mean the danger to gnomes is past - please, if you are a gnome, be careful if you head out into the geyser fields. Don't go alone.
White Squad, on the other hand, was working to recover lost artifacts that pirates had stolen from vrykul (a precursor to humanity, this is a very historically rich continent) graves. The absence of these artifacts led the vrykul spirits to rise as skeletons and attack the nearby Tuskarr. Also, the artifacts were cursed. White Squad successfully recovered them and replaced them in their barrows, but the spirits were not appeased. They claimed that their brothers, the 'kvaldir' would come in as a wave on the tide and destroy us all. My friends in the Tundra, you may recognize that we've been fighting these creatures for some weeks. Now, we have more information on where they have come from.
