Cressidha Aspenwood Gwenivene Whittle

A member of the Kirin Tor personally delivers a magically sealed letter to Cressidha. The seal breaks only at her touch.

Ms. Aspenwood,

I've heard about the situation in the Nexus, and holy canolies! I'm sure glad Cobalt Company is on this. We need the best of the best. That's where you come in!

I've consulted with the Council of Six (the COUNCIL OF SIX! I know, right? Well, only five of them were there, but still!), and they agree that what we're dealing with is a quantum fluctuation in the spatiotemporal location of the portal. Or, as you might put it to the rest of the squad, it's wibbly-wobblying in and out of the here and now.

Blue dragons are so naturally magical that this doesn't present a problem for them. It's even entirely possible that what looks like random fluctuations due to the chaos caused by the ley line confluence could be a deliberate attunement to a harmonic frequency inherent to the blue dragonflight. Only further, lengthy study could determine that for sure, and we don't have time for that.

We've been monitoring the ley line situation from Dalaran, and based on the energy output and our reports from Coldarra, I have devised a formula that will temporarily stabilize the portal. I have to warn you, this will take tremendous concentration and will likely leave you disoriented for a bit afterward, and the portal won't remain stable for long after you've stopped channeling — I'd give it ten seconds at best. So get everyone through quickly!

Okay, here's the formula:

S = [(F + E) / (c x T)] x (A / V) x (1 - Σi=1 to n (Mi x Ci))

Where:

S = Units of force required to achieve stability
F = Flux density of the portal (in units of spatial distortion)
E = Energy density of the portal (in units of temporal distortion)
c = Constant factor representing the complexity of the portal
T = Temperature of the portal
A = Area of the portal opening
V = Volume of the portal
M = Coefficient of individual magic type
C = Concentration of individual magic type
n = Number of individual magic types present in the portal
Σ = Summation symbol

I wish I could be there to help you, Cressidha. But Malygos's insanity is causing havoc for us as well, and I'm needed here just to help keep things functioning as normal. But I know that you're going to put a stop to this. You're such an awesome mage, and Cobalt Company is full of incredible heroes.

Best of luck and Light be with you!

Gwenivene Whittle
Mage of the Kirin Tor
