Anareline Silvershade Sentinel Larawen Rivenbark

After some boat-induced delay, a letter might make its way to Larawen Rivenbark in Astranaar. Or it might not.

Dear Larawen,

I assume you are still painting? I will look forward to seeing your newest work when next we meet. I do not know how long it will take for this letter to reach you, as I must send it with the next outgoing ship. This is perhaps something that I should have mentioned before I left, that I was traveling to Northrend. It is possible your brother has told you, as he is here as well.

I hope that you take this as a positive gesture, that I am willing to put myself in harm’s way to aid the world again. I do not say this to prod you into further action. I know that you already serve. I hope you understand that it is only the loss associated with that service that I would have spared you, if I could have.

The leadership here is as corrupt as it is everywhere. The humans let an actual undead sin’dorei blood-drinker impersonate one of their advisors, it seems. I feel certain I would have spotted the deception, had I spent sufficient time in his presence. Perhaps he knew so, and this is why the people here were led to be so distrustful of the kaldorei and the draenei at first.

I should also speak to you of our family. I have heard that you have spoken with your half-sister, Florande. She has come to Northrend as well, and seems to be a reasonably competent, if very young, druid. You might want to speak with her mother, if you like. She is a Sentinel as well, and fought at the battle on Mount Hyjal. I am given to understand that she has been struggling to come back to active duty post-battle.

I should also mention that Caspis Silvershade, who is your half-sister’s teacher and also my shalan, is with me. I do not speak of him to remind you of your own grief, but to communicate in a way that I have failed to these past centuries. He has a young daughter, Tirenda, who remains behind in Ashenvale. I believe you may have much in common.

It is easy for the years to slip away from me, but I am hoping that we might stay in touch. That we might both learn to know the person that the other has become after so many years. If this is unwelcome, tell me, and I will cease writing immediately.

I hope that all is well with you.

Your mother,
Anareline
