Maisha Cloudskimmer Admiral Siamus Fallon

A thick envelope arrives, addressed to Vice Admiral Siamus Fallon. Inside is a letter written in round, tidy handwriting. Stapled to it are three handwritten copies of letters with the words TOP SECRET written in block letters at the top of each.

Dear Vice Admiral Siamus Fallon,

I’m Maisha Cloudskimmer, the girl you might recall as the Wildhammer dwarf in that last meeting about the Salty Heron. As a reminder, the other people on this job are Anni, Nala, May and Jonas, and all the stuff we’ve figured out was a group effort on everybody’s part. We have figured some things out already, but not everything, hence the letter report.

We found a satchel of correspondence that must have been lost from the shipwreck and ended up getting eaten by a slime. I don’t know if you have much experience with slimes, but they roll about and pick up all sorts of things you would not expect. Nala has safely preserved and made copies of the letters, and you can see the relevant ones stapled here with the mark of TOP SECRET. They all but confirm what you thought about the cargo being a defecting Forsaken fellow.

There is actually a letter from the fellow himself, and if true it sounds like he may have been sincere. The letter seems to say that there is some sort of operation planned for the Hillsbrad Foothills, but we do not know what exactly. The fellow also claims to have a living woman he still counts as a relation, and who he was keen to contact. I do not know whether we want to follow this up. Even if we were to find the Forsaken fellow, I don’t know if the woman would want to see him.

We also consulted with the man who handled the extraction, identified by Anni and SI:7, who said he saw no sign of any funny business in any of his communications. The agent said the defector’s name was Collin, but he did not have a surname for him. We speculated maybe someone from on-ship betrayed the mission by magic, or maybe there is a scoundrel somewhere in the lines of communication. The agent in Southshore seemed trustworthy, but news got out about the extraction somehow.

Then we investigated along the shore in Hillsbrad Foothills, and we found an odd thing among the murlocs. It seemed to be a sort of floating dock, but it was secured underwater like folk didn’t want anybody to see it. We think it is probably not an innocent fisherman (because of all the murlocs) and the dock ought to have an eye kept on it. We do not know if it has anything to do with the sinking of the Heron, but it sure is fishy and could have been a place where enemy forces might pick up or drop off things for operations.

That is pretty much it for now, but we’re still looking for if we can find what happened to the fellow. Please do not hesitate to contact us if you have more questions, or you have some leads you can set us on.

Sincerely,
Maisha Cloudskimmer
