Azizia

Azizia walks into Booty Bay’s inn holding a letter and wearing light blue pants and a white off-the-shoulder top. This isn’t her best outfit, but since she’s a Squad Member for Cobalt Company, now, she’s got no choice but to wear her simplest outfits while she considers what she’ll pack or not.

Truth be told, the Shaman isn’t happy about going back to Draenor, but she takes solace in the fact that promotion means more gold, and more gold means more purchases. Shopping is not what brought her to Booty Bay on this day - that was yesterday. She is more than willing to do some before going back to Stormwind. Instead, today, she has a meeting.

She greets a few familiar faces and walks straight to the innkeeper. “Hello, Skindle. Do you know where is in Booty Bay…” she looks at the letter, “Tresha Greengilt?”

“Tresha Greengilt?” Skindle looks at Azizia skeptically, and then he chuckles. “I’d suggest nothin’ comes free in this city, only… you and I both know you’re no mark. And Tresha’s pretty easy to find right now. I’d say try up in that shop of hers, in the terrace above Port Authority, if she isn’t roundin’ up passing adventurers. ‘Greengilt Tanager Gear’ I think she named it. GTG. What business have you got with her?”

Azizia smiles at his comment about her not being gullible. She nods at the answer, trying to keep the full name of the shop in memory, and how ‘GTG’ would be written in that weird, Common alphabet. “Thank you, Skindle,” she says. “I have meeting with her, for business proposal, I suppose. I do not actually know what business, yet. I will come back and let you know after!” She slides two gold coins toward the innkeeper and says, smiling once again. “Nothing comes free in this city.”

Skindle makes the coins disappear faster than your average traveler could blink, and waves at Azizia. Any goblin can appreciate a regular who knows how to make sure the wheels stay greased.

Azizia chuckles at the goblin’s sleight of hand as if it was a common yet still amusing sight to her. She bows to the innkeeper and makes her way outside. She tries to follow his instructions, although the city’s structure will forever be confusing to her. Eventually, she ends up on the terrace where the shop should be. The shaman looks around for the sign. ‘Greenguilt… Tanger Gir’, was it? Nope, at least one thing doesn’t make sense, it’s ‘danger’, not ‘tanger’, so her memory is already wrong, there. It’s good enough, however, since she immediately recognizes the name as she spots it written on a sign. She walks up to the building and knocks.

“What am I doing?” she thinks. “This is a shop, I don’t have to knock.” Azizia enters GTG, as if she had never knocked, to begin with.

A young goblin woman is sitting behind a desk, arguing irritably with empty air. Or, at least, that’s what most people would see. A shaman might notice that she is, in fact, arguing with Air, which is a very different thing altogether. She’s remarkably green, even for a goblin - skin, hair and eyes - and the golden hoops in her ears and links on her tastefully fitted armor lend her a certain gilded look. She turns from her argument as the draenei walks in, and dismisses the spirit with a wave of her hand.

“Well, hello, customer,” she says brightly, blowing a tuft of green hair up out of her face. “What can I do for ya?”

Azizia briefly notices something flying around the shopkeeper. She thinks it might have been her imagination playing tricks on her. Anything but more dealing with elementals, please. She smiles at the goblin, really liking her style - even though she personally wouldn’t look as green. But who is she to judge? She’s a dark blue woman wearing blue pants. The Draenei doesn’t notice the hypocrisy behind these thoughts.

“Hi, I am Azizia.” she bows, the tucks back curly hair strands behind her ears, “You wanted to talk? For business?”

“Azizia!” The goblin woman’s deep green eyes light up. “Azizia of the illustrious Cobalt Company! Right, right. I’m Tresha Greengilt, thanks ever so much for answering my letter. I was hopin’ to talk to you about a possible situation of mutual advantage, as it were.” She pauses, gathering her thoughts, and then continues, “Not to put too complicated a point on it… you travel a lot, and are famous, yes? And I need to make a name for my high-end traveling gear.”

The Draenei crosses her arms. “So this is about work with Company?” She narrows her eyes at Tresha and takes a few steps towards her. “I will be working in very important Squad business for Cobalt Company soon, so if you need products to be seen in good light, I can help with that,” she uncrosses her arms and places her hands on her hips, before upnoding the vendor. “What type of deal do you offer? What products is your ‘high-end traveling gear’?”

“Yeah, see, that’s exactly what I’m talkin’ about,” Tresha smiles. “I can give you things for fr… for a discount, and you can rep GTG in your very important Cobalt squad business, eh? And as for what, I make elementally-strengthened clothing and accessories, which are also very stylish. Water resistant, fire resistant, tear resistant… top notch through and through.”

Azizia makes a “Hmm…” sound as she considers the business proposal. There are a few things she has to discuss, and she decides to go with the easier one: to see what she would be promoting. “Is what you’re wearing the things you’re selling? If not, can I see clothes and accessories?”

“Oh I made this, yes,” Tresha holds her arms out so Azizia can see the ensemble more clearly. “But I got your size of course. And of course, I can do custom stuff for draenei… appendages. Let me show you some of what I got.”

Tresha steps over to a wardrobe, opening it wide to show the tall, draenei woman the collection of various clothing and chainmail within.

Azizia approaches the wardrobe, looking carefully at the items within. She touches them to check their texture, if they look comfortable enough, and if they would look good on Draenei like her. She even considers what other members of other races would look like wearing some of these clothes! Azizia’s gaze keeps coming back to a pair of bracers, as well as a backpack that go pretty well together. Every now and again, she touches these, considering buying them. “Fire, water, and crying resistant, you said?” ‘Tear’ and ‘tear’ sound pretty similar, with a dwarvish accent, and right now Azizia hasn’t learned to discern all of the Azerothian accents. It’d make sense for a goblin to speak with a dwarvish accent… right?

Azizia steps away from the wardrobe, nodding once. “I am interested to help, but I have few conditions.”

“Yes, crying resistant too,” Tresha says with a firm nod. She doesn’t seem to understand where that came from, but she’s happy to add on another perk. “Doesn’t matter how salty the water is. I’ll add that in the PR copy. What conditions you got in mind, friend?”

“First,” she says, holding up her index finger. “I do not wish to get items for free or with discount.” She smirks. “Spending money is part of fun when shopping.” She raises a second finger. “Next, what I want actually is exclusive items. If you get shipment of new, rare items, I would like to see it first before other potential clients. Or if you have item I like, but not in right color or it need slightly different shape, I will get the item the way I want. I will pay for it at regular price, though.”

“Well, that’s a hard ask,” Tresha says, eyeing Azizia as if she just transformed into something strange and possibly poisonous. “But if you insist, I will charge you full price on everything. Yep, I’m just that flexible. On the rest… I get something special, I’ll drop you a note. And you got forty-eight hours to let me know you're interested, I’m not waiting around for decisions. Beyond that, I can always make a custom order. What else you got for conditions?”

The Draenei shakes her head, not noticing the look on Tresha's face. "I do not like forty-eight hours rule. I will be working in Draenor, very dangerous place, and possibly promoting products of yours. I may not have time to come check exclusive item with such short notice." She shrugs. "I do not know if I have other conditions." A smile draws on Azizia's lips. "Maybe if you want to negotiate further, we can talk about salary for me which I may or may not put back into shop of yours. It is up to you."

Tresha nods, considering Azizia shrewdly. “How about seventy-two hours, instead of the salary? That seems fair to me.”

Azizia brings her own hand to her face and gently taps her index finger on her cheek. “Hmmm,” she stays silent for a few seconds longer. “I suppose I have time to make plans to come here in seventy-two hours. Deal.” She holds out her hand for Tresha to shake.

Tresha grins widely and reaches up with one four-fingered hand to take Azizia's, giving it a firm shake. "Pleasure doin' business with ya, friend."

The Draenei answers the firm shake with an equally firm one as well. “And with you as well.” she lets go of the goblin’s hand, then turns to the wardrobe, and a sudden shock of realization comes to her. “There is one thing I need to know!” She says, turning back to Tresha. “Do you have a… um…” after hesitating for a second, she whispers a word in Draenei, and an air spirit comes to whisper back into her ear. “A slogan! Do you have one I should say when showing products of yours?”

"Right! Of course!” Tresha snaps her fingers, still grinning.“I should’ve mentioned that. What I’ve got right now is No matter where you wander, with Greengilt Tanager Gear you’re Good To Go! What do you think?”

Azizia takes a deep breath. “I will need you to write this for me.” She then turns back again to the wardrobe. “I will look for what I buy while you do. Do you have something that helps with cold and rocky places? And arcane lightning?”

Tresha returns to her counter, getting paper and pen and absently murmuring while she writes, "No matter where you…" she pauses and looks up at Azizia, "Arcane lightning? Sounds like you're wanderin' somewhere pretty dangerous. That's perfect for the brand! And uh, you should probably go for mail with insulated lining? Helps with the cold and makes a nice zzzp path for the lightning that's not through your organs."

“Yes. Netherstorm, apparently. I travel sometimes through Twisting Nether, but usually, it is not physical place.” Azizia says all of this very calmly as she looks through the wardrobe to search for the armor described by Tresha. “Maybe you should look into making all armor lightning resistant. It will be more useful than crying resistant.”

“You’d be surprised how often crying comes into adventuring,” Tresha says, as if this were a selling point from the beginning. She finishes writing the motto with a flourish, and carries the paper over to Azizia and the wardrobe. “But you got a point. I’ll work on it. Arcane lightning resistant, especially. Found yourself something nice to start with?”

“I will give this test try!” Azizia brings the bracers and the backpack out of the wardrobe. “They have catched my eyes immediately. Those are mail with insulted lining, right?” She raises the bracers up. “Let me know if you find solution for Arcane lightning. And possibly stop crying of adventurers.”

Tresha eyes the bracers and nods approval. “Insulated, yeah. Both of those are excellent choices - I can tell you’ve got a discerning eye! And absolutely, I keep you updated on new stuff as I come up with it, and you keep me updated on what you need. We’re gonna work so well together, I can tell.” She rubs her hands together and heads to the till. “Now let me just get you checked out…”
