It has been some time
You may have heard news
I write to ask a favor of you. I do not expect a reply in the affirmative. My memory is not what it was, and it was never good, not for personal matters. But I do remember that you were always more tolerant of my eccentricities than most,. at least until If anyone were able to tolerate the new eccentricities I have acquired, logic suggests it would be you.

There was an art I studied at the Conservatory in my youth and then abandoned: the art of inscription. I remember that you were quite an expert in the practice. I no longer seem able to channel the arcane in quite the same way I preferred. Perhaps I lost that capacity when I died. But I can still manipulate runes and symbols quite easily, and I believe I could channel my intellectual curiosity in this direction with more success if I had someone willing to instruct me.
