Dear Confessor,

Fret you not, maudlin is my practically my speciality. Maudlin fuels my pen like nothing else. Whatever dam I tried to raise in the river of sentiment to guard my own heart was swept wide when the Light ran me through. Too wide, by some estimations. It occurred to me that you might still have some peculiar letters that stretch into the dozens of pages to attest to that, and I suggest discarding them if so. They are from a point when words boiled in my hands before I even knew what they were.

I am getting off track; the point is that we are in agreement about parting amicably in time. I need someone nice to settle down and be maudlin with, she needs someone taller and with fewer fingers and toes, you know how it goes. You know that Sev and that Ference both have sons just recently? Tell me I won't have to wait until that age, please. There aren't many Satterlys left and I practically have a duty.

All right, enough joking. I should tell you more of Kalimdor, then, the little I have seen of it. The forests are so tall and thick and the sun so mild, I did not even have to take sunburn precautions, in spite of all the time under the smoke and spore miasma leaving me a bit pale, admittedly. It is not all serene. It is probably known by now that the Darnassus branch does not have the best track record on keeping personnel accounted for. There is unusual demonic activity in the wake of Hyjal, and very strange reclusive summoning sects, and other matters arising from that continent's very long history of civilization, too long for me to know or recount. But if it isn't a thing of awe to stand amid high stone walls older by far than the dawn of Arathor.

As for the general trajectory of things, I suppose you'll have to lend me some of your optimism. The way I hear it, support may not be as thick as it seems on the surface without restless bones rattling right on the doorsteps of those with means to spare. That may lend some explanation as to why we see less of the Scarlet envoys as late. I don't count this as comforting. It seems like our very narrow window into their intentions may be suffering stricture, and it leaves me uneasy. There is more we should discuss, as well, but not by post.

Say, do you ever speak with Father Montoy? Find me when you return and let me know, would you? And don't be too hard on Sister Anna. It is simply that her faith is so grounded that the taste of roadstones leaves her irritable. Probably could use a dash of maudlin.

Travel safely and Light sustain you
