Dearest Vond,
On the point of allies, Light's Hope has had a renewed sense of spirit these past months. Even with things going on beyond the portal, the amount of assistance sent by all sides has been uplifting, personally. With some of the more heinous threats neutralized, I dare to hope that we might be making more headway, chastised as I am by my peers.

A few of them find me naïve, but I feel that without belief in our victory there might not be a point in working toward it. The idea that there is more toil to be had is not exclusive in regard to relishing the day that peace reigns.
Among us, I will say, I cannot fathom the true pain that the special prison of undeath brings, but the dignity and honor shared between the penitent dead and our living is very real.

They confess, just as any other soldier in our ranks- I would urge you to meditate on the idea that they are people, yet. Strong in the face of a pillaging of their very souls. I believe the Light favors them, as despite their transformation, their despair- who they are, yet rages for justice. If that is not a lesson in the Light's fervor, then I am a sham. A morsel for your prayers and meditations, anyways.

Desinae and Anna are, as they are. Sometimes youth feel threatened over the smallest of things. They lash out in a misguided attempt to keep a status quo. You each are a beacon for others, not your own standing, so feel free to pass on my thoughts to Sister Anna: Acting like a smug child is no example to lead by. If she finds you wanting, she should make more of an effort to guide you, not double down on Raugh's exasperating lack of tact.

I'm glad to see you doing well with your squad! Your notion of a sieve is interesting, but I submit that even those Silver Hand 'stock' were and are as gooberish as you all are. Plenty of time and places for you all to become as great and decorated as the former. I will certainly keep you apprised of our goings on here, as I can. But please! Do delve into the adventures you've been having! I have never ventured to Kalimdor, myself, but I've heard amazing stories. Oh, and should your duties with Shadowbreaker end with a charger, I beg for an illustration of it, if you wouldn't mind.

In regard to the closing of your letter, I rather adore your take on it. In retrospect, I often found myself doing the same. I have a very cherished memory of my time in Hearthglen, of all places. It had been rather stormy day, at the end of autumn. As the patrols had gone out for the night, the children grew restless so I had done my best to assemble them for songs and stories. Anything to alleviate the stress, as it were. I'm a little ashamed that I don't remember which of you it was, but one of you snuggled in with your head upon my shoulder. The sound of the rain and the warmth of the room was a good start, soon I had many of you all in a better mood. Mayhap it strange to admit, but the smell of that child's hair has stuck with me the rest of my life, as one of my most pleasant recollections.

It's okay to be maudlin, sometimes.

Be well, I look forward to your next letter,
Merenel
