Alliza "Alice" Reyne Ben Hazan Sir Colson Aspenwood Halliday Tyrrell Jocoza Tibbiah Shinbreaker Yveris Starleaf

Bennarin salutes you with respect.
Bennarin nods at Colson.
Bennarin settles back in his chair and stretches his legs out. His eyes are shadowed and he looks tired.
Aspenwood nods back at Ben with a gentle smile, setting his notebook back into his bag. He looks a little tired, but also strangely radiating with happiness, for the stoic paladin.
Jocoza waves at Ben and Colson. "So, interviews today, right? It'll be good to get some new blood in." *She shuffles a stack of application papers*
[Bennarin]: Yes'm.
[Bennarin]: We got a lot of 'em lined up?
Colson salutes Jo.
[Jocoza]: Up to four, or maybe more if we have time. It'd be nice to do this a little more regularly, now we have portals, so that we don't build up a marathon.
Bennarin nods again.
[Colson]: Ah, yes.
[Jocoza]: Oranna sent me the ones she thought most promising, and I've invited them over. *She lifts the top application, and hands it over to Colson* Here's the first for today.
[Jocoza]: Halliday Bristow, veteran mage.
[Jocoza]: You all can have a quick look before she comes in? But I hear she joined in the Blackrock expedition not long ago.
Colson reaches to take it, and read it over. "Oh, Halliday Bristow?" He's looking at the information. "I am acquainted, actually. We knew each other in Theramore. Remarkably competent."
Jocoza nods. "That's good to hear. This one might be an easy decision - she clearly already works well with our people, too."
[Bennarin]: Friend of Mizzy's. From way back.
[Bennarin]: Mizz is real big on her.
Bennarin surveys the application.
Begin the interview of Halliday Bristow.
Halliday descends the stairs sedately, her expression serene, though she is doing a complicated and fidgety crossing-and-uncrossing of the fingers of her right hand. Behind her drifts the little sprite darter hatchling, like a tiny animate kite.
Colson nods, and holds out the application for Ben to read closer.
[Halliday]: Hello. I don't believe I'm late. Am I late?
Jocoza stands to greet the mage, and gives a polite nod of the head.
Bennarin has just taken the application to read, but glances up and then sets it on the table at once. He surveys Halliday and smiles.
Halliday curtsies before you.
Colson stands at the entrance, and gives Halliday an appropriate bow. "Miss Bristow. Good to see you once more."
Halliday curtsies before Colson.
[Jocoza]: Oh, no, not at all. Right on time. I'm Captain Jocoza Sparkwire, and these are Cobalt Lieutenants Colson Aspenwood and Ben Hazan.
[Bennarin]: Miz Bristow. Ismene has told me a lot.
[Jocoza]: Please, have a seat. Be comfortable. There are apples, if you'd like one.
[Halliday]: Knight-Captain. And - oh. You are Ben.
Halliday eyes Bennarin up and down.
[Halliday]: Hm.
Bennarin blinks.
Jocoza raises an eyebrow at the scrutiny.
Colson 's face is very neutral at the title, but he inclines his head to Halliday, before taking his seat again gracefully.
[Halliday]: Thank you. I would not like an apple. But the offer was polite.
Juliet turns an idle circle in the air.
[Halliday]: Do you have questions for me? I assume there are questions.
Bennarin glances to Jocoza.
[Jocoza]: Um. Okay. *Jo blinks, not quite sure how to answer that.* And yes, of course, that is how it goes, traditionally. First off, what makes you want to join Cobalt Company?
[Halliday]: I know Ismene Call- Hazan, I beg your pardon - from many years ago. And I know Sil Silentstep now also. They suggested that I should. I enjoy working with them. I enjoy working.
[Halliday]: I have gone with them and some of your other people to Blackrock Mountain, to rescue the princess. We were unsuccessful, but your people work well.
[Jocoza]: That's…. a good trait. *Jo smiles* I also like to keep busy. I would ordinarily ask about your qualifications, but I think they speak for themselves. Both at Blackrock, and people who know you from Theramore. *Jo nods at Colson*
Colson nods back to Jo, a polite expression on his face.
[Halliday]: Yes. I served with Jaina Proudmoore's people, and fought at Mount Hyjal. Some people seem to think that is impressive, so I think I should mention it?
[Bennarin]: You were young, for Hyjal.
[Jocoza]: We do have a number of Hyjal veterans in Cobalt. *Jo nods* So there may be more people you know. Not me, but, you know, a number of people. *Jo pauses, glances at Ben in question. Is she that young?*
[Halliday]: I was seventeen. Many soldiers were young, there.
Colson looks down at his hands for a moment, before looking back to Halliday.
[Halliday]: Oh, yes, Sil Silentstep mentioned Lena Coit. I know her as well. Not from Hyjal. From Theramore.
Bennarin nods once at Jo's inquiring look.
[Halliday]: I suppose I might know others. That is four people so far.
[Halliday]: Because I know the Knight-Captain as well.
Halliday nods at Colson.
[Jocoza]: Well, you did a great service to the world at such a… young age. *Jo darts a confirming glance at Ben* And yes, Lena's a warlock working for the company.
Halliday blinks.
Colson inclines his head back to Halliday.
[Halliday]: She's a - oh. Hm.
[Halliday]: All right.
[Halliday]: Do you have many warlocks in Cobalt Company? Sorry, am I allowed to ask questions as well?
[Bennarin]: You are allowed, miss.
[Jocoza]: Oh, yes, you're allowed. And we have a few warlocks. Not many. Will that be a problem for you?
[Halliday]: No. It just seems unusual to me. Because of - Hyjal, and the war. But I suppose it might be useful. To know one's enemy, that way? I have not worked with warlocks before.
Jocoza nods. "We're very cautious about allowing warlocks into our ranks, but I think the ones we have are trustworthy. Sandy Spellbond and Lena Coit are the most active members, currently."
Jocoza glances over at Ben and Colson. "Do either of you have questions for Miss Bristow?"
Bennarin shakes his head. He still looks tired, and he is studying Halliday with inscrutable interest, but he has no questions.
Halliday looks from the questionless Ben to Colson, expectantly.
Colson 's lips move in a very faint smile, as he shakes his head. "Only of a personal nature, to inquire after the health of your family, Miss Bristow, and you need not answer it as part of your interview."
[Halliday]: Oh. Well. It is polite to answer it, though, I think? My father is well. One of my brothers is dead, and I have not seen the other two in some time but they are also well, I understand. My sister is well also.
Bennarin raises his eyebrows.
Colson inclines his head. "I see. My condolences, for your brother." Colson doesn't seem particularly surprised by the exactness of the answer.
Jocoza looks at Halliday like she's some sort of puzzle. "Yes, condolences on your brother, and good to hear that the rest of your family is well."
[Halliday]: Oh. I did not come to your wedding, but I know there was a wedding, because Ismene went. I helped with her dress. Congratulations, Knight-Captain. On your wedding. Also congratulations to you, Ben. On your wedding.
[Jocoza]: Well, then, any further questions on your side, Miss Bristow? About the nature of the Company or responsibilities therein?
Bennarin 's eyebrows climb higher, but he nods respectfully to Halliday.
Colson smiles faintly. "Thank you, Miss Bristow. And, it is only Lieutenant Aspenwood, or if you would prefer, Colson. I am no longer a Knight-Captain."
[Halliday]: Oh, I see. Lieutenant. I do not have further questions about the nature of the Company, I know how mercenary companies work. What sort of responsibilities would I have?
Juliet gives a tiny, wheezing yawn.
[Jocoza]: There are group missions, but many of our members also work solo from time to time. In that case, you can use your affiliation with the Company to ensure they do not attempt to cheat you.
[Jocoza]: And also, you can be paid through the Company, as well.
Jocoza glances to Ben and Colson for their decision, though she's pretty sure she knows what the answers will be.
[Halliday]: I see. I would enjoy group missions, if they become available. I enjoy working with a unit. But I am glad not to be cheated, also.
Bennarin nods at Jo.
Colson nods at Jo, in clear approval.
Halliday sits up a little at the nods, and her fidgeting fingers still. Nods seems good.
Jocoza nods at Colson. "And also, we'll see if we can get you more work in teams, and less solo. I think that'll be it for the interview, and we'd like to offer you employment with Cobalt Company.
Halliday smiles at Jocoza. "I accept your offer. Thank you."
Jocoza smiles at Halliday.
Bennarin smiles faintly.
[Colson]: There are other mages you may be interested in speaking with, Miss Bristow. One Gwenivene Whittle, and my sister, Cressidha Aspenwood.
[Colson]: Both of whom work for Cobalt Company.
[Halliday]: Oh, excellent. I do not know your sister. I have heard of Gwenivene Whittle, I believe. Through the Kirin Tor?
[Jocoza]: Oh, Gwen, yes? She's a Kirin Tor novice now. You may also want to speak to our contact there, Gerhold Fauntleroy.
[Colson]: Yes. An associate of Gerhold Fauntleroy, of the Kirin Tor. I will be happy to introduce you to my sister. I hope you will enjoy the Company, and the work, Miss Bristow.
[Halliday]: Oh! I know Gerhold Fauntleroy as well. The Hawk. Not well, I suppose. But I know him. Oh - am I dismissed, then?
Halliday looks from face to face. That seemed like the end.
[Jocoza]: Oh, yes. I think we're done here? *Jo glances to the other Lieutenants for confirmation*
Colson directs his attention to Jo.
[Jocoza]: Let me, or Ben or Colson, know if you run into any difficulty getting settled in.
[Bennarin]: Reckon so. It was a pleasure to meet you, Halliday. Ismene will be glad to hear about you.
[Colson]: Yes. Please do, Miss Bristow. That is not only to be polite. It is our job, to see to such.
Colson stands gracefully, as she does, to offer a polite bow.
Halliday nods. "I do not think I will have difficulty settling in. But I will ask. Ismene knows about me already, Ben."
Halliday curtsies.
Bennarin rises as well to nod respectfully. He smiles a little bemusedly. "I meant that you are joined up, now."
[Halliday]: Oh. Yes.
[Jocoza]: She can't know that, it just happened.
Halliday nods to Jo. "I see now. Thank you."
[Halliday]: Good afternoon.
[Colson]: Good afternoon.
Jocoza waves farewell.
End the interview of Halliday Bristow.
Bennarin looks at the other two.
[Jocoza]: Well, that was a very easy decision, indeed. She's a bit… direct? But seems like she'll fit pretty well.
Bennarin sits again. "She is - yeah. Mizz mentioned it."
Colson sits gracefully. "Yes. It is best to be very precise, with Miss Bristow. She is very competent, and rarely intends a slight, but she is very forthright."
[Jocoza]: And I guess she's been working with Sil and some of the others. Seemed surprised to hear Lena was a warlock.
[Colson]: Yes. That…Lena was not a warlock, in Theramore. I was surprised by it as well.
Bennarin nods. He rakes a hand through his hair.
[Jocoza]: Ah, well. Good luck for us, that she is now. *Jo murmurs, looking down at the papers* Let's see, who's next…
[Jocoza]: Oh, right, the next one, I think, was a gnome. *Jo pulls out the application and hands it around to Colson*
Begin the interview of Tibbiah Shinbreaker.
[Tibbiah]: This the place? Oh, hey, el-tee! Must be the place.
Colson reaches across to take it, to read. "Oh?"
Bennarin blinks. "Tibbs?"
[Tibbiah]: That's me!
Jocoza glances up in surprise. "Oh, I didn't hear you come in! You're… Tibbiah?"
[Tibbiah]: Tibbiah Shinbreaker.
Tibbiah stands at attention and salutes.
[Bennarin]: Tibbs is - we worked some together at Honor Hold.
Jocoza nods at 'Tibbs' in greeting. "Please, have a seat. And an apple, if you'd like."
Colson glances through the application, raising his head to incline it politely to Tibbiah. "Ah, yes."
Bennarin is grinning.
Jocoza glances to Ben and raises an eyebrow. Another easy choice?
[Tibbiah]: Yeah, he does okay. And thanks! Real apples? Don't mind if I do.
Tibbiah helps herself to an apple, which she has to hold in both hands, and then clambers up into a chair.
[Jocoza]: Alright, so let's open with - what brings you to apply to Cobalt Company?
[Tibbiah]: Well, I know the el-tee, and I've seen your people around the Hold, yeah? Also I figure twenty years with the Sons is enough. Ready to start advancin' someplace else, get back into Azeroth action, you know?
Tibbiah takes a huge bite of her apple, and crunches noisily.
[Bennarin]: I mean, a lot of our action is over there these days, Tibbs.
[Tibbiah]: Yeah, you all skedaddled off to the marsh, I heard. We missed you.
Tibbiah bats her eyes at Ben and crunches some more apple.
Jocoza nods. "Sons of Lothar, yes - and what kind of work would you say is your specialty? Would you -mind- eventually working more in Outland?"
[Tibbiah]: My specialty is sniper and sapper. I went out with the Sons because the humans figured they might need explosives experts to bring down the Portal or whatever. But I can fight, too. I mean, can't be out there if you can't fight, at this point.
[Tibbiah]: And I guess I wouldn't mind it, if it isn't Hellfire?
[Jocoza]: Yeah, I've been there for a few months now - I can imagine.
Colson tilts his head a little. "Indeed."
Tibbiah nods firmly at Jo. "Rather see some of the ol' homelands first, though."
[Jocoza]: I think we're done with Hellfire for the moment, lots of work elsewhere. And it's always good to have another explosives expert on the team. *Jo's smile fades at that last comment*
[Jocoza]: Um, how up to date are you on… current events?
[Tibbiah]: Oh.
Tibbiah 's expression clouds. "Yeah, I - yeah. Have heard about that. Recently."
Jocoza glances to Ben and Colson. "Okay. I worried, so much -else- happened, nobody might think to mention…"
[Tibbiah]: Guess it's true what they say, about you can't go home again, huh? *Her laugh is tinged with bitterness.*
Bennarin winces a little.
[Colson]: I do know that Dane was working to apprise the Sons of Lothar as much as possible about recent events, but…*he waves a hand elegantly in the air.* I am sorry, for your loss, Tibb.
[Jocoza]: Yes, *Jo says simply. She glances down at the stack of applications for a moment, and then looks up again.* If you want… to go see. There are some gnomes, trying to reclaim parts.
[Tibbiah]: Thanks. I sort of figured … I mean, twenty years, you kind of figure you might not see the place again anyway, yeah? But it's a little bit of whiplash, there. I mean I knew from the newcomers that it was gone before I knew there'd be ways to get back here, but … still. Would've been the best piece of the old world to see first.
[Tibbiah]: Got some people I might … try to look up anyhow?
Bennarin glances at Jo.
[Jocoza]: It was… the best place. *Jo nods* And some of us did make it out, so you might have luck. There are a few of us in the Company. Me, Cognitia Fizzthingle wasn't there when it happened…
[Jocoza]: And there's a Boopsie Sparkfly who made it out.
[Jocoza]: Those are the ones in the Company, anyway, not all the people who made it out. You can ask around Tinker Town, they're very organized.
Jocoza glances to Ben and Colson, her eyes asking for a subject change.
[Tibbiah]: Sparkfly, Sparkfly. Don't think I know her. Fizzthingle - might be familiar, not sure.
Bennarin clears his throat. "But, I mean. Plenty of work here in Azeroth to get you out've Hellfire a bit."
[Colson]: She was in Honor Hold, with the Company. I expect you may know her as 'Nish.' *Colson's voice is a little dry.
[Tibbiah]: Ohhhh. Yeah. Okay.
Tibbiah grins at Colson. "Fresh faces, you know how it is."
Colson 's lips twitch. "I understand. It was…not unlike that, even in Theramore."
Bennarin keeps a straight face.
[Tibbiah]: Where's Theramore? Don't know a Theramore.
[Colson]: We were not quite as isolated. You may enjoy seeing Kalimdor, and the Kaldorei.
Jocoza organizes the stack of applications, listening to the conversation.
[Colson]: Ah, the military base that was built on the other continent, after the Third War, by the Lady Jaina Proudmoore.
[Tibbiah]: Oh, the Kaldorei. The big purple ones, with the - *Tibbiah sketches a giant ear from the side of her head with one hand. She's still cradling her half-eaten apple in the other hand.*
[Tibbiah]: A whole other continent. Yeah, I would for sure like to see -that-.
Tibbiah cronches some more.
Colson inclines his head. "I am certain we will be able to find work for your skills there."
[Jocoza]: And we do have a number of kaldorei in our group, as well as draenei, a people I'm sure you know.
Bennarin nods firmly. "The Kaldorei - you can call 'em night elfs, Tibbs. Maybe not a great idea to call 'em 'the big purple ones.'"
[Tibbiah]: Draenei, yeah, know plenty of them. Good people. Their technology is - whew.
[Tibbiah]: And okay. Night elfs. Elves.
[Jocoza]: Speaking of our company's diversity, are there any sorts of people you would have trouble working with?
[Tibbiah]: I am just going to go ahead and assume you don't have a whole lot of orcs or troggs, so. I'm good.
[Jocoza]: No orcs. No troggs. *Jo confirms*
Jocoza glances to Ben and Colson. "Anyway, I should ask if either of you have any more questions before we make this official?"
Tibbiah nods and takes the final bite of her apple. Cronch cronch. She licks the core happily.
[Bennarin]: Not me. Like I said, I worked with her some out there.
Tibbiah winks at Ben.
Colson considers for a moment. "No, captain. Any Son of Lothar would be a welcome addition."
[Jocoza]: Okay, then I think we're agreed. Will you join us here with Cobalt Company?
[Tibbiah]: Happy to. I mean, I applied, right? And I gotta say it's refreshing to see these big fellas working for a gnome, for a change.
Colson 's face is serious. "Captain Jocoza is an exceptional leader."
Jocoza smiles at Colson, and then turns to Tibbs to add, "And if you ever want to work together on something explosive, just let me know."
[Tibbiah]: Magic words, Captain Jocoza.
Tibbiah grins at Jo.
[Jocoza]: Alright, if you run into any more questions getting settled in, please let us know!
[Tibbiah]: Thanks! Glad to be here. And to be -here-, you know what I mean?
Tibbiah stands at attention and salutes.
Tibbiah is still carrying her apple core. She does not seem to plan to part with it.
Colson inclines his head to Tibbs. "Welcome."
You salute Tibbiah with respect.
[Bennarin]: Glad to have you, Tibbs.
[Tibbiah]: Aw, I bet you would be. Too bad for you.
Tibbiah winks at Ben again.
[Tibbiah]: Okay, over and out!
End the interview of Tibbiah Shinbreaker.
Jocoza looks to Ben and Colson. "Oranna really did a good job on this. A Hyjal veteran and a gnome from the Sons of Lothar…"
Colson takes a moment to unhook a water bottle from his belt, and sip at it. "Very easy choices, both."
Bennarin nods agreement. "I ain't known Tibbs was applyin'. She is real good."
[Jocoza]: And we don't have enough gnomes on the team. Never enough.
Bennarin grins at Jo. "No, ma'am."
Jocoza hands the next application over to Colson to circle around. "Next one's also a mage. An Alliza Reyne."
Colson looks at this one as well, frowning faintly. "I do not recognize this one." He glances through, and hands it over to Ben.
Bennarin blinks at the name. He takes the application and peers at it. "Oh. Okay. Sure."
[Bennarin]: Alliza.
[Colson]: Ben? Do you know her?
[Bennarin]: No, no. Just - my Ma was called Eliza. The name, sorry. But spelt different.
Bennarin sets the application aside on the table. He folds his arms and settles back in his chair.
[Jocoza]: Oh. Yeah, definitely different person.
Colson 's eyes go soft, and his voice lower. "Ah. I see."
[Bennarin]: Naw, I didn't think it was the same, ma'am. My Ma's dead. Just, I ain't hear the name that much, is all.
[Colson]: Cressidha may know of her, if she was trained in Stormwind, but I do not recognize the name.
Bennarin nods at Colson.
Begin the interview of Alliza Reyne.
Alliza strolls boldly into the HQ, pausing once at the landing.
Bennarin glances up to survey the newcomer.
Jocoza stands to greet the newcomer. "Alliza Reyne?"
Colson stands at the entrance, and offers a shallow, polite bow, holding it for the exact appropriate length.
Bennarin rises from his seat as well. He nods respectfully to Alliza.
[Alliza]: I believe you were expecting me? I'm not late, by the way. There was a lost soul drifting around outside and I was seeing to her.
Jocoza frowns. "Not Bimble, right?"
[Bennarin]: Kind of you, miss. Ain't late.
Jocoza shakes her head and says, "Anyway, welcome, you're just on time. Please have a seat. And an apple, if you'd like."
[Alliza]: Oh, the little gnome? No, not her. An elf.
Colson drops back down gracefully to his seat.
Jocoza takes her own seat.
Alliza sits down and takes an apple.
Bennarin sits when Alliza does.
[Jocoza]: What was the lost soul in need of? *Jo asks politely*
[Alliza]: Directions, actually. Seems she was searching for this place as well. *She shrugs.* Perhaps she's next?
Jocoza glances at her stack of papers. "
[Colson]: Ah.
[Jocoza]: I can't say for sure, but could be.
[Bennarin]: It's that kind of a day.
[Jocoza]: Well, okay, let's focus on you. What brings you to apply to Cobalt Company?
Bennarin settles back comfortably and folds his arms again.
[Alliza]: Well. *She brushes her hair behind an ear.* That's a story. I -was- perfectly content to study in Stormwind. But, as it happens, my parents would have none of that. *She changes to a shrill, mocking voice,* "You must learn about the world yourself."
Bennarin narrows his eyes at the voice.
[Alliza]: In short, my parents kicked me out. So, I thought having a group around might make things easier. More opportunities.
Bennarin nods at her.
Jocoza blinks. "I suppose a mercenary company is not an unreasonable way to learn about the world. Do you have a lot of combat experience?"
Colson 's brow twitches upward at that, but his face is a polite neutral.
[Alliza]: Plus, I have encountered some of your Draenei members during my travels. And combat? Sure. I know that it takes three fireballs and a scorch to take down an ogre. -Don't- ask me what I was doing near an ogre.
Alliza mutters under her breath, "Filthy ogres."
Colson 's lips twitch. "Ah. Yes, well."
Bennarin smiles crookedly. "That's a smell you ain't forget."
[Jocoza]: Killing ogres may indeed be a thing you might do in Cobalt. *Jo says, with a small smile as well*
Alliza leans forward, eager to complain more about them. "Did you know they just…go-you know. GO. Anywhere?"
[Alliza]: I almost stepped in some, and it was… Horrifying.
[Jocoza]: Oh, yes. *Jo nods, eyes wide* It's-incredibly- gross.
[Bennarin]: I -do- know that, yeah. And it … sure is a thing. Fu- damn filthy.
Colson inclines his head. He knows all too well.
[Jocoza]: So… Stormwind-trained, have been traveling solo and practicing combat, now aiming to join a Company for a bit of support and direction?
[Alliza]: That about sums it up, doesn't it? *She smiles.*
Jocoza nods. "A very reasonable progression. And how are you in working with groups? Are there sorts of people you couldn't work with? I will not ask you to work with ogres."
[Bennarin]: I mean, we don't got ogres. We expect a little more, hygiene-wise, from our people.
[Alliza]: Oh, good. I rather would not enjoy working with those creatures. They are a bit lacking in intelligence. No, I would say I could work with anyone. Most anyone. Maybe not a bum?
Bennarin raises his eyebrows at this.
[Bennarin]: Can you define 'a bum,' miss?
Colson 's brows raise at that as well, his expression unreadable.
[Alliza]: Smelly, alcohol sodden, filthy, mopey man with no desire to change whatsoever. *She seems to be getting angry during this rant.*
[Alliza]: Not that you employ any bums.
[Bennarin]: Okay. Fair. We do not got none of those neither, that is correct.
Jocoza shifts back in her chair, and says mildly. "I think some 'bums' might just be going through a hard time. Lot of things have happened in the last few decades that could lead someone to despair."
Bennarin nods at Jo.
Colson evaluates Alliza with a mild, polite expression, nodding at Jo's words. "Indeed."
[Alliza]: Well sure, he was. But he had no desire to fix it.
[Alliza]: I even offered to help, but that got me… Well. I won't be doing it again.
[Colson]: However, by the time they arrive at us, it is often due to an inner drive to improve, or alter their circumstances.
[Jocoza]: But at present, I can say we employ no 'bums'. *Jo's gaze sharpens on Alliza, as she realizes this is a 'he' and not a class of people*
Jocoza nods at Colson.
[Colson]: Do you have a place to stay, Miss Reyne?
Alliza 's mood lightens at the 'no bums.' "Oh I'm sure I can come up with a place. After all, I'm not -entirely- poor."
Colson looks at Jo, to see if she will offer Headquarters.
Bennarin studies Alliza again.
Alliza studies Ben back, politely.
[Jocoza]: If you do end up having difficulty, a few of our new recruits have stayed here, temporarily. *Jo gestures at the cots over in the corner.* No one is doing so, currently.
[Jocoza]: Ben, Colson, do you have any further questions for Miss Reyne?
Bennarin does a bland, puppy-eyes smile at Alliza. "I do not guess I do, ma'am."
[Colson]: By any chance, do you know of my sister, Lady Cressidha of the House of Aspenwood? She was trained in Stormwind as well.
[Alliza]: Lady Cressidha? I would not say I know of her personally, no. I am, or, was, a bit of a reclusive sort. Book study, mostly. Kept to myself.
[Alliza]: But, by reputation, certainly.
[Colson]: Ah, yes. Well. Cressidha was trained personally by Ms. Granville, but you may have encountered her in the tower.
[Alliza]: If I have, it was in passing.
[Jocoza]: Perhaps you will get to know her more in the future. *Jo smiles*
Colson inclines his head to Jo. "I have no further questions for Miss Reyne, Captain."
Jocoza nods at Colson.
[Jocoza]: Miss Reyne, do you have any questions for us?
[Alliza]: That is, I don't believe I have gotten any of your names.
[Colson]: Colson Aspenwood, at your service as a Lieutenant of Cobalt Company.
[Jocoza]: Oh, right. I'm Captain Jocoza Sparkwire.
[Bennarin]: Ben Hazan, also a Lieutenant, miss.
Jocoza glances to her lieutenants, to get a nod or shake for their assessment.
Colson inclines his head to Jo. He can work with this.
Bennarin nods once.
[Jocoza]: Well then, I'm happy to offer you a position here with Cobalt Company. Please let us know if you have any problems settling in.
[Alliza]: I certainly will do so, thank you. If there is anything more you need from me, please let me know.
[Colson]: Welcome, Miss Reyne.
[Jocoza]: We'll do that. Welcome to the Company!
Bennarin nods respectfully. "Welcome on, miss."
Alliza glances towards the door. "Well, you're probably most busy. Shall I fetch the girl outside?"
Colson stands when Alliza does, and gives her the same polite bow.
[Jocoza]: Yes, if the lost soul is our next interview. She was a kaldorei, I believe.
[Alliza]: Yes, sounds about right. I will send her in. If not, I leave it to you to redirect her.
[Alliza]: Thank you.
Alliza bows down graciously.
You curtsey before Alliza.
End the interview of Alliza Reyne.
Colson sits back down gracefully.
[Jocoza]: She seems a bit sheltered, but that's nothing that can't be cured with experience.
Bennarin nods again once.
[Colson]: Yes. It is not uncommon, if her family is of wealth. She may be prone to…generalizations, as you have seen. I expect time will do the most good there, as well as gentle explanations.
Jocoza hands around the next application. "This is the last one, for the moment. A druid, Yveris."
Bennarin raises his eyebrows and nods.
Begin the interview of Yveris Starleaf.
Yveris seems to have been rapidly shoo'd in from outside, making her entry a bit rapid and stumbly.
Colson reads this one through as well, a slight frown of concentration. "I do not believe I know this one either. Not uncommon, but I did spent some time among the Kaldorei." He hands the application to Ben.
Jocoza stands and looks way up at the newcomer. "Welcome, I'm Captain Jocoza Sparkwire of Cobalt Company."
Bennarin sets the application down without a glance, his attention on the stumbling candidate. He gets to his feet.
Yveris smiles at those gathered, and waves.
Bennarin nods respectfully to Yveris.
Colson stands at her entrance, and bows politely. "Ishnu-alah." Colson introduces himself in nearly flawlessly unaccented Darnassian. He speaks very slowly, however.
Jocoza nods at Colson, and adds to the newcomer, "That, too."
[Bennarin]: Lieutenant Ben Hazan, miss.
Yveris brightens at Colson's Darnassian. If further brightening is possible for her. "Ishnu-alah."
[Jocoza]: Are you… Yveris Starleaf?
Yveris nods eagerly. "Yes. Cobalt?"
[Jocoza]: Yes. You would like to join Cobalt? Be a mercenary?
[Yveris]: Yes. To help. Heal.
Jocoza gestures to the chair. "Have a seat. Would you like an apple?"
[Jocoza]: Oh, a healer! We are always in need of healers.
Bennarin 's expression fades a little. He nods once.
Yveris takes a seat and gently cradles the apple.
[Jocoza]: Do you know Nilunelle Mistwalker, by chance?
Colson smiles faintly at that, and takes his seat once more.
Yveris smiles politely, but does not react to the name. She shakes her head a bit.
[Jocoza]: She's currently a druid healer in the Company. You may get along well. She is very young, by your people's standards.
Yveris watches Colson in particular. He seems to have captured her interest.
Bennarin settles back and laces his hands together over his stomach. He watches Yveris politely.
[Jocoza]: You know that we are a diverse company, with many different peoples and ways of life represented, right? Is there any kind of person you would be uncomfortable working with?
Colson is looking politely back at Yveris, a mild expression on his face.
Yveris looks startled at the notion. She shakes her head quickly. "I heal everyone."
[Jocoza]: Do you have much experience healing in combat?
Yveris digs out an apple seed and grows a small bloom in her hand. She smiles at it. "During fighting? No. I am here to help. To learn. To heal."
Bennarin watches this with interest.
Colson smiles faintly at the bloom.
Jocoza smiles with delight as the little seed blooms. Then she sobers and says, "Okay, but you do know that a lot of the mercenary experience is combat. You would be expected to travel with a team that is actively fighting, and keep them safe."
[Yveris]: I can. During fighting. I have not, before. But I can. I know it.
Bennarin studies her inscrutably. "Fightin' can get real ugly. You know that, yeah? And we are on one side of it. There is people in a fight you will not be healin'. Only your teammates. That is okay with you?"
Jocoza glances to Ben, and nods. A good point.
Colson inclines his head at Ben's words. "That can be difficult. You will need to be able to follow orders, as well, even if you are directed to do otherwise than what you might on your own, for the safety of the team you are with."
Yveris nods, though she does smile sadly. "I know. Cannot save everyone. Only team."
Colson looks at his hands and nods. "Yes."
Jocoza nods. "Willingness to learn is important, and experience will come."
Bennarin nods. He looks resigned more than relieved or approving. "Okay."
Jocoza looks to Ben and Colson. "Do you have any more questions for her?"
Bennarin shakes his head. "I guess I just asked it. No more."
[Colson]: We have several who are fluent in both Darnassian and Common, as well as a translator, for anything you may need. We often send word of news or instructions by mail. Do you have a preference in what language you would like to receive it in?
[Colson]: Or would you prefer both Common and Darnassian?
Yveris shakes her head. "Any. Can do any. Do what is easy."
[Jocoza]: Very accomodating, but please let us know if you have a preference. It is allowed.
Jocoza glances to Ben and Colson. Yes or no?
[Colson]: Neither shall be difficult on our end. We want you to be comfortable, and able to understand most of all. Please, do not hesitate to use the resource.
Bennarin nods at Jo.
Colson nods at Jo.
Yveris smiles and shakes her head. "Any," she insists.
[Colson]: As you will. *Colson inclines his head politely.*
[Jocoza]: Alright, we would like to offer you a position here at Cobalt Company. Please let us know if you run into any questions or problems, as you settle in. I mean, assuming you accept.
Yveris nods. "Accept." She gets to her feet and lightly crosses to stand in front of Ben.
Bennarin gets to his feet, bemused.
Colson 's brows raise faintly.
Jocoza watches curiously.
Yveris offers him the bloom in her hands. "Cannot save everyone. But always try." She smiles.
Colson looks down at his hands, exhaling slowly.
Bennarin blinks at her. He hesitates, then takes the little bloom carefully and stares at it. A strange shadow crosses his expression, and his eyes are briefly overbright.
Jocoza smiles at her, and furrows her brow slightly at the reactions of her lieutenants.
[Bennarin]: Thank you. Thanks, miss.
[Colson]: Ande'thoras ethil, en'shu falah nah, Yveris Starleaf. *Colson bows politely to Yveris, speaking slowly but very clearly.*
Yveris bows down graciously.
You bow before Yveris.
Bennarin holds the apple blossom like he doesn't know what to do with it but he is for sure not gonna put it in his pocket. He just watches Yveris.
[Yveris]: Fal osa diel no dor terro lo Bandu
Yveris smiles and waves again, before departing.
Colson hesitates, parsing the words slowly.
Jocoza nods at Yveris as if she had any idea what the kaldorei just said. She waves farewell.
End the interview of Yveris Starleaf.
[Jocoza]: She seems really sweet. Mercenary life might be hard on her.
Bennarin takes a deep breath and clears his throat. "Yes'm. I hope not. But yes'm."
Colson murmurs to himself. "May you…walk? in the light of Elune."
[Jocoza]: Oh, is that what it meant? That's a nice thing to say.
[Bennarin]: If y'all don't mind, I got to attend to some things.
[Colson]: Hm? Oh. It is possible. But, I have learned to not underestimate the strength of the druids. They are often more practical than they can seem.
Colson nods at Ben.
[Jocoza]: Of course, of course. I'll schedule more interviews for another time.
[Colson]: I should as well, Captain. *He salutes Jo, and passes a blessing over her.* Light be with you, Captain.
[Jocoza]: Nilu has been through the wringer and still holds firm, it's true.
Colson smiles faintly. "Just so."
You salute Colson with respect.
