Bargrimm Cambrin Halliday Tyrrell Ismene Hazan Silvestre

Members of the team begin to wander into the throne room at Ironforge.
[Halliday]: Hello, Ismene. And you. I don't know your name. We met yesterday, but not properly.
Cambrin nods at Halliday.
[Silvestre]: Hi everyone! I'm not late, right? *He looks genuinely concerned*
[Cambrin]: Hello. I'm Cambrin, Cambrin Cooper.
[Halliday]: Hello, Cambrin Cooper. I'm Halliday Bristow.
Ismene is gesturing to a goblin cupid.
[Ismene]: If you blow him a kiss, he casts a spell on you! Oh, but it's a nice spell, not a bad spell of course. I wouldn't ever tell anyone how to get a bad spell. I guess that's a curse. I wouldn't curse… anyone.
Ismene falters to a stop and shuts up.
You blow a kiss to Kwee Q. Peddlefeet.
Sil is blessed with more health! This is also what the others receive.
[Cambrin]: And I didn't know about any traditions involving flying goblins.
Halliday blows Kwee Q. Peddlefeet a kiss.
[Silvestre]: Oh, wow, how nice!
Cambrin eyes Mizzy dubiously.
[Silvestre]: Thanks for the tip, Mizzy!
Bargrimm waves at Ismene.
Cambrin blows Kwee Q. Peddlefeet a kiss.
[Halliday]: Oh, it's one of the dwarves! Sil said there would be dwarves. Hello.
Ismene stares at the bear.
Halliday smiles at Bargrimm.
[Ismene]: Poor bear….
Cambrin salutes Bargrimm with respect.
[Silvestre]: Okay, so, I talked to Oranna, and she pointed us to this Royal Historian for more information.
[Bargrimm]: Miz Callis, good ta see ye again.
Ismene eyes Bargrimm unfavorably.
[Ismene]: What's wrong with your bear?
[Cambrin]: Hello! I think we met briefly in Westfall a while back. I'm Cambrin.
[Bargrimm]: Nay, she's fine. Bit o' surface scarrin'; naught tae worry about.
[Silvestre]: Oh, oh right! Does everyone know each other? Has everyone met Bargrimm?
Bargrimm nods at Cambrin.
Bargrimm thanks Halliday.
[Halliday]: Hello, Bargrimm. I'm Halliday Bristow.
[Ismene]: Bargrimm's nice.
[Halliday]: I'm not in Cobalt Company yet but I will be.
[Ismene]: Halliday's nice too, but you have to pay attention to see how nice she is.
[Silvestre]: And you are Bargrimm, right? *Sil grins at the dwarf, who he assumes to be Bargrimm, despite their never having met.*
Bargrimm chuckles.
Cambrin raises an eyebrow.
[Bargrimm]: Aye, lad. An' this is Spocket; she's here tae keep me out o' trouble.
[Silvestre]: Great, that's great! Shame Oranna couldn't come out today, but I bet she'll be here next time.
Bargrimm scritches Sprocket behind her surprisingly still-intact ears.
[Cambrin]: There's multiple people needing rescue?
[Bargrimm]: Oh, aye, she's a wee mite busy wi' some business t'day.
[Ismene]: Well, I guess we should go talk to the historian, right?
[Silvestre]: You all ready to talk to the Historian? Might clear some stuff up.
You bow before King Magni Bronzebeard.
Cambrin salutes King Magni Bronzebeard with respect.
Bargrimm taps Spocket on the snoot to be sure she stays put.
Halliday eyes King Magni Bronzebeard dubiously and then makes a perfunctory curtsey.
Bargrimm bows before King Magni Bronzebeard.
The Royal Historian offers to tell them the dwarven account of the Dark Iron dwarves.
[Silvestre]: I would -love- to hear a brief history of the Dark Iron Dwarves, miss! I read books on it.
[Halliday]: I mostly know it already. But go ahead. Other people might not.
[Cambrin]: Not something we covered in the orphanage school.
[Halliday]: Oh, you were in an orphanage? That's very sad.
The Royal Historian expounds upon the origins of the Dark Irons…
[Royal Historian Archesonus]: Hundreds of years ago, the great city of Thaurissan stood proudly in a lush expanse of land that is now the dilapidated Burning Steppes.Thaurissan was home to the nation of Dark Iron dwarves and at the time, in the midst of a civil war among the dwarven nation at large. You see, that area of the world was at one point in time part of the Redridge Mountains - until the day that Thaurissan was consumed by a gigantic explosion. The city lay in ruin, the surrounding areas reduced to an ashy wasteland.
[Silvestre]:That is tragic. How did this happen?
[Royal Historian Archesonus]: We do not know. The Dark Irons that did survive made their way into the mountain and began rebuilding their city. From the ashes of Thaurissan then rose Blackrock Spire and the new Dark Iron nation. Additional fortifications were made within the Searing Gorge, in the area known as the Cauldron. Stories of an ancient evil that controlled the kingdom of Dark Irons began to circulate.
Recently, the Dark Irons have been seen on the surface world with greater regularity. Fortresses have been built in the Badlands. Massive exploratory forces have been sent into the depths of Uldaman in search of ancient lore. They have even invaded our own homeland, striking at our dam near the loch.
Bargrimm looks like this is the boring version of the Dark Iron saga, but pays close attention nonetheless.
Ismene whispers to Bargrimm, "What's the evil thing that took over the Dark Irons?"
[Cambrin]: Hm. Why am I not surprised that something involving the Dark Iron dwarves involved a giant explosion?
[Silvestre]: And especially we keep an eye out for that Kharan fellow, right?
[Bargrimm]: Aye, sounds like.
Royal Historian Archesonus arches an eyebrow, as if to say 'we don't say the quiet part out loud here.'
[Silvestre]: Well, all right. You all in for checking out the Burning Steppes?
[Ismene]: It does smell horrible there, though.
[Halliday]: Yes.
[Cambrin]: Guess we need to be ready for a bit of digging.
[Silvestre]: Saw some of the ruins the other day.
[Halliday]: The bear does not smell very nice either.
[Silvestre]: Lot of information to gather, let's head out!
The team flies to the burning steppes.
[Silvestre]: I see a stone here.
A tormented voice whispers: Your existence is acknowledged. <The relic turns to dust. Your head throbs with newfound wisdom. Something evil lurks in the heart of the mountain.>
[Silvestre]: And here!
A tormented voice whispers: Defiler… you will be punished for this incursion. <A symbol of flame radiates from the relic before it crumbles to the earth.>
[Silvestre]: I got good eyes for this. *Sil says happily*
Bargrimm cocks an ear. "Anyone else hearin' disemboided voices?"
A tormented voice whispers: You will perish here. <Your mind fills with visions of chaos and destruction.>
Ismene eyes Bargrimm. "I haven't heard anything."
[Cambrin]: Not that I've noticed.
Bargrimm glances about suspiciously.
[Cambrin]: Look, another past the reaver.
A tormented voice whispers: Do not taint these ruins, mortal. <You are engulfed in a blinding flash of light. A creature composed entirely of flame is the only thing you can remember seeing.>
Ismene jumps a little. Oh!
[Ismene]: I heard it!
[Silvestre]: Now that you mention, on that last one, yeah…
[Silvestre]: And like, a flame creatures?
A tormented voice whispers: Help us, outsider. <The relic crumbles to dust. A vision of eight Dark Iron dwarves performing some sort of ritual fills your head.>
Cambrin startles.
[Ismene]: It said "Help us, outsider."
[Cambrin]: Ok, now I hear something.
[Halliday]: Yes. I heard one.
[Ismene]: Oh.
[Bargrimm]: Well. Tha' all seem a touch ominous.
[Silvestre]: Are you all… seein' visions, sort of? More like memories in your head?
A tormented voice whispers: Leave this place <The relic emits a white hot arc of flame. A memory is gained: A lone Dark Iron dwarf is surrounded by seven corpses, kneeling before a monolith of flame.>
[Cambrin]: That doesn't look… comfortable.
Ismene shivers.
Bargrimm agrees with you.
[Silvestre]: Did they… burn?
[Halliday]: -Are- we tainting the ruins? I didn't think so. *She frowns.*
[Silvestre]: I think they're pretty tainted already.
A tormented voice whispers: He cannot be defeated. <The relic burns to nothing. The memories it held are now your own. This city was destroyed by a being not of this world.>
[Halliday]: That is twelve.
Ismene is not hiding behind Sprocket, goodness no.
[Bargrimm]: Righ' enough.
[Silvestre]: Okay, so… some eight dwarves summoned a thing. And seven of them died?
Ismene is standing very close to the bear, however.
[Cambrin]: "Help us, outsider," it said.
[Silvestre]: And it wrecked this whole place. That sound like what you all… uh… remember, now?
Ismene nods a little.
[Halliday]: Yes. Shall I make a portal? To tell the Historian?
[Silvestre]: I dunno what we can do to help exactly…
[Silvestre]: Yeah, probably a good idea, Halliday.
A Dark Iron attempts to attack Halliday.
[Cambrin]: Do not. Interrrupt. The lady.
[Silvestre]: Specially not when she's making a hole through space.
The team portals back to Ironforge, and heads back to the throne room.
Bargrimm bows before King Magni Bronzebeard.
Ismene kind of shuffles sidelong past the king, head down.
You bow before King Magni Bronzebeard.
Cambrin sets down a packing case full of relics.
[Silvestre]: Yeah, plenty more to learn.
Royal Historian Archesonus suggests you speak with the King about your expedition.
[Cambrin]: We found what you were looking for, Historian. I hope.
[King Magni]: You have been to the smoldering ruins of Thaurissan? Did you happen to run into a pitiful lout named Kharan Mighthammer? The dwarf that was supposedly watching over my baby girl! And now she's gone!
The King sobs.
[King Magni]: Thanks for your assistance in searching the Steppes. If they're not there, the only clue I have as to the whereabouts of my daughter is that she may be inside the Depths. For all I know, she could be dead! Kharan is supposedly being held prisoner there… find him! I want answers!
Ismene whispers, "Poor man."
Silvestre says to the side, as he listens to the King speak, "This is more direct about the whole rescue thing."
[Bargrimm]: Look, losin' a princess is bad at th' best o' times, under or over th' mountain regardless.
[Cambrin]: Don't worry, your magesty. Daring rescues are a Cobalt Company specialty.
[Silvestre]: So we -do- need to go into Blackrock. No problem, we scouted it out already.
[Halliday]: Well, even if the princess is unpopular, he seems very sad about it. Though I suppose that makes sense.
You nod at Cambrin.
[Bargrimm]: An' I've got any numbre o' options fer blastin' a prison door open.
[Silvestre]: Let's go -right now-!
[Silvestre]: Are you all in for it?
Ismene giggles at Bargrimm.
Bargrimm pats one of his six Rob Liefeld pouches.
[Halliday]: Yes.
They fly to Thorium Point in Searing Gorge.
[Silvestre]: Ready to charge in Blackrock Mountain? I'm ready!
[Ismene]: Not exactly.
[Ismene]: But I will.
[Halliday]: Sil is very excitable.
[Silvestre]: Oh come on, Mizzy, it'll be fun!
[Bargrimm]: Not so hasty, Sil.
Silvestre jumps around a little more on Speedygos.
[Silvestre]: We're gonna save a princess though, Bargrimm!
[Silvestre]: This is real hero business!
[Bargrimm]: We're goin' tae TRY.
[Silvestre]: Cobalt succeeds when they try things!
[Silvestre]: It's just over these chains.
He is referring non-chalantly to the giant chains they must traverse over the lava pit.
[Ismene]: These things again.
[Silvestre]: Mizzy and Halliday and I checked it out.
[Halliday]: You can do it.
[Bargrimm]: D'ye know how many rescues I been on that turned out t' be body recoveries?
Silvestre casts sad eyes at Bargrimm. "But not always, right?"
They make their way through the tomb at the center of Blackrock.
Bargrimm eyes the runic carvings on the tomb.
[Halliday]: It's a very strange way to get anyplace, though.
Cambrin salutes the hero's tomb.
They head down to the second chain.
[Ismene]: You only have to slip once to find out that lava is not fun to swim in.
[Silvestre]: Oh, I do not swim in lava, don't worry Mizz.
[Ismene]: At least we don't have to do that on the way back. Halliday can get us out!
[Halliday]: Yes.
[Silvestre]: Yeah, mages are great in general, and Halliday in specific.
[Halliday]: Yes.
Halliday looks pleased.
[Silvestre]: This is as far as we went yesterday.
Bargrimm checks the gun.
[Silvestre]: Reckon it gets more dangerous here on out.
Halliday peers into the cavern ahead.
Cambrin tightens the straps on his armor.
[Bargrimm]: Righ'. Prison break!
Silvestre rubs more poison on his blades.
They make their way into the prison and begin killing guards.
[Cambrin]: Easy enough so far.
Ismene relaxes a little and grins at Cambrin.
Bargrimm grins at you wickedly.
[Cambrin]: Someone sounds unhappy.
[Halliday]: I will make people into sheep if you like.
[Ismene]: It's a gnome.
[Silvestre]: They did say he was held in a prison, but damn.
Ismene whispers to Halliday, "Can you leave them food and water, at least?"
[Halliday]: It will disappear after a time. But I can give them some for now.
Halliday darts back to set some cinnamon rolls and a flask of water inside one of the prison grates.
Ismene pauses to heal the wounds of each slave they pass.
[Cambrin]: Is there a particular direction we should be going?
[Silvestre]: I… uh… am not sure.
[Halliday]: There are cages this way.
[Cambrin]: Trolls.
Bargrimm growls.
[Halliday]: Hm. Strange.
[Silvestre]: With the dwarves?
[Ismene]: And a tauren.
[Silvestre]: And Taurens! *Sil nods*
[Silvestre]: They in league with the Horde?
[Ismene]: I think the robes are
[Ismene]: …. I think they're Twilight's Hammer cultists.
[Halliday]: Ah.
Sil lockpicks open a cell, finding a dwarf who says his name is Dughal Stormwing.
You gently pat Dughal Stormwing.
[Halliday]: Is that our dwarf?
[Silvestre]: You ought to head out, mister.
[Ismene]: It's pretty clear to the exit!
[Ismene]: This place is horrible.
[Cambrin]: Sil, another door?
[Ismene]: How do we collapse a mountain?
[Silvestre]: Wait, where?
Bargrimm pats the BoomBag again.
[Silvestre]: Oh, I don't think this one opens.
[Bargrimm]: I'd need about twenty times this much, though.
[Halliday]: That seems inadvisable, honestly. I mean, we should kill all the cultists and dwarves. But I don't think we should collapse a mountain.
Ismene sighs wistfully.
[Cambrin]: I'd prefer if we saved talk of collaspsing the mountain for when we're out of it.
[Ismene]: Oh! Well… yes, of course….
[Silvestre]: Yeah, I don't want it to fall down -on- us.
[Silvestre]: :D
[Silvestre]: This is a big prison. What if we can't find him?
Ismene whispers, "Why did they have fish on the walls?"
[Silvestre]: On the -walls-? Like for decoration?
Ismene nods.
[Silvestre]: I guess I saw that sometimes in Lakeshire?
[Silvestre]: But they can't fish here.
[Silvestre]: It's all lava.
[Cambrin]: Well, they like their beer down here.
Ismene smiles a little. "So does Cobalt Company."
[Silvestre]: Think they raise fish in beer? Drunk fish?
The conversation dries up as they attack more Dark Irons.
[Silvestre]: This is that same room from before, yeah?
[Halliday]: Yes.
[Silvestre]: Like a prison maze in here.
[Ismene]: We have Halliday.
[Silvestre]: Yeah, you got a good head for spaces, Halliday.
[Halliday]: I do. I make a map in my head.
Ismene grins. "I meant we don't have to worry about getting lost."
[Ismene]: She can get us out.
[Silvestre]: Yeah, that too.
[Cambrin]: How about this door?
[Silvestre]: Nope, fused shut.
Kharan Mighthammer says: Try and make yourself useful, human. GET ME OUT OF HERE!
They come upon another cell with an openable door. Sil picks the lock and they find Kharan Mighthammer!
[Silvestre]: I'll get it… there we go.
[Halliday]: Oh. There he is.
[Silvestre]: Are you Kharan?
[Silvestre]: Door's open, sir.
[Halliday]: You are in a lot of trouble I think.
[Kharan]: "All is lost…"
[Ismene]: "All is not lost, Kharan!"
[Kharan]: "Then listen well, human. Several months ago, the Magistrate of Lakeshire sent envoys to Ironforge, pleading with the King for assistance with the Blackrock incursions coming from Redridge and the Burning Steppes. Princess Moira volunteered to help, against my pleadings. I was assigned twenty elite guardsmen to protect the Princess through the perilous journey from the Loch to Lakeshire.
Kharan clears his throat.
[Kharan]: We made our way through the Searing Gorge tunnel and into the ravaged wasteland comprising the gorge. In retrospect, things were eerily quiet. The only dangers we ran across were the wildlife of the region: Creatures that my men easily dispatched. We reached Blackrock Mountain with relative ease and made our way through the stonewrought construction without so much as a hiccup."
[Cambrin]: "So what happened?"
[Kharan]: As we were making our way across the Burning Steppes, we were ambushed. It must have been a hundred of them… Dark Iron Dwarves! They were shifting out of the walls, from the rocks in the Steppes; out of every crevice, nook, and cranny in sight. They swarmed us, overwhelming the guards and the few brave heroes that had agreed to assist us on this mission. One thing was clear: This was a highly orchestrated ambush. It was as if they knew every move we would make before we made them…"
[Bargrimm]: So you suspect that someone on the inside was involved? That they were tipped off?"
[Kharan]: How else could this have happened? Someone must have tipped the Dark Irons off.
Kharan shakes his fist.
[Kharan]: So help me, if I ever get out of here, I will spend the rest of my days finding the traitor.
The team looks pointedly from Kharan to the open door.
[Kharan]: Where was I? Oh, yes, so we were captured. My elite guards men were captured on the spot. They spared me and took the princess away by way of ram. I was taken to the detention halls of the Slag Pit and then transferred to this prison. I can only assume I am still alive because they wish to extract a ransom for my pitiful life. Or maybe out of cruelty, as a way to let me forever play back the events that transpired in my mind. Regret is the cruelest jailor of all, human. She now resides at the side of Emperor Thaurissan. He has her under some sort of powerful thought altering spell… and here I sit, completely helpless.
[Halliday]: The door is open, Kharan. You are a free man.
[Bargrimm]: Well… tha's… tha's just…
Bargrimm shakes his head.
[Halliday]: A traitor. Hm.
[Cambrin]: Spies everywhere.
[Ismene]: Well.
[Bargrimm]: Aye, SI:7 bedamned, dwarven politics are jus' as complicated an' twice as labyrithine.
[Ismene]: Do we go back now and tell the king, or try to find her?
[Silvestre]: And -mind control-! *Sil looks both excited and distraught* A -mind-controlled- princess!
Bargrimm makes a wobbly hand gesture.
[Halliday]: I suppose we should look? We did get hired to look for her.
[Silvestre]: I think we try to find her!
Halliday nods at Sil.
Ismene sighs in relief. "Good, I didn't want to leave her down here."
[Silvestre]: Yeah, let's look around, see what we can do.
[Cambrin]: If nothing else, the more information we gather, the better off we'll be if we have to come back.
[Bargrimm]: Oh aye, we're no' goin' back wi'out some sort o' confirmation.
[Cambrin]: Plus we can thin out their numbers.
[Halliday]: Good plans.
[Silvestre]: Yeah, Halliday can get a mind map of the placce!
Bargrimm chuckles. "Thin out" the Dark Irons? You might as well try to "thin out" the extant number of murlocs across Azeroth.
Cambrin nods at Sil.
[Cambrin]: Onward then!
[Silvestre]: The prisoners are in real bad shape, too. What are they -doin- to these folks?
[Bargrimm]: Who knows.
[Ismene]: Or not doing. No food, no water….
Sil lockpicks open another cell door, with a human inside.
You gently pat Marshal Windsor.
[Cambrin]: Wait! He's an officer!
[Silvestre]: You're free now! We opened a path.
[Halliday]: Do you want cinnamon rolls, sir?
[Silvestre]: What, really? Are they just sniping princesses and soldiers?
Halliday sets a packet of cinnamon rolls down encouragingly.
[Ismene]: Officers know more.
[Cambrin]: More doors? Or are they stuck?
[Silvestre]: Fused. I hope there's nobody in them
[Silvestre]: Or was nobody in them.
[Halliday]: HELLO?
Halliday knocks politely at the fused door. There's no answer.
[Halliday]: Oh!
[Halliday]: That isn't a cell.
[Silvestre]: That one was unlocked.
[Silvestre]: I went to unlock it and yeah, just opened.
It was the break room. There are Dark Iron dwarves.
[Cambrin]: Sorry to interrupt your break time, boys.
[Halliday]: We aren't, though.
[Silvestre]: No, not really. They're dead.
They make it back around to the central room.
[Silvestre]: I think that's this whole side checked out.
[Silvestre]: No sign of Thaurissan or poor Moira.
[Ismene]: Most of the prisoners we pass are dead, too. Undead. You know. I wonder if they were like that before or after.
[Silvestre]: The prisoners?
[Ismene]: Yes.
[Silvestre]: They sure got alot of dogs down here. Sad place for a dog to live.
[Silvestre]: Then again, maybe evil dogs.
[Halliday]: They don't seem like good dogs.
[Ismene]: Well, they seem very loyal to their owners.
[Silvestre]: Kinda like wolf-warg type dogs.
The team lockpicks a number of other cells, and encourages the occupants to flee.
[Silvestre]: Everybody out! We cleared a path!
[Silvestre]: Run run run!
They head down another hallway and fight a creature of fire.
[Silvestre]: Well, that was some kinda elemental. Getting into a different part of the depths, maybe?
The hallway abruptly has a hole on the right-side wall. Outside the hole is a very long drop into a very large pool of lava.
Silvestre peers over. "Whoa. They should not leave holes here like this."
[Bargrimm]: NOPE.
[Halliday]: Oh, my.
[Ismene]: Don't jump.
[Silvestre]: Like right in the hallway.
[Silvestre]: No railing.
[Ismene]: They don't seem safety conscious overall, I'd say.
[Silvestre]: No, they do -not-.
They come to a doorway to a circular room.
[Cambrin]: I think we can thin out some of the dogs first.
[Silvestre]: And what's this place? Looks kinda formal.
[Ismene]: Lotta dogs for formal. Maybe it's a weird kennel?
[Ismene]: I wonder what these levers do.
[Cambrin]: That'a mighty big mechanism.
[Silvestre]: I just saw the circular shape. But yeah, just a bunch of cages and dogs in here.
[Halliday]: A drill?
[Silvestre]: Maybe to make the depths bigger?
[Ismene]: There are a lot of gears in the floor.
[Halliday]: They are already very deep depths.
[Silvestre]: Whoa yeah, looks kinda gnomish.
[Cambrin]: There's a hole above. Like it's pushing something up?
[Cambrin]: And a light too.
[Halliday]: Oh, hm.
Bargrimm beams down at the machinery. "Ohhhhh tha's FASCINIATIN' tha' is."
Halliday peers upward.
[Cambrin]: There's an Elder up there!
Cambrin gasps at Elder Morndeep.
[Silvestre]: A what now?
[Bargrimm]: Aye. We loop back an' we'll see it.
They head out of the neat gear-filled room. As they pass more doors, they check inside to see if there's anyone who needs rescuing.
Halliday knocks.
[Halliday]: Hello?
Silvestre knocks on the door.
Ismene gently pats Halliday.
[Silvestre]: Fire elementals ahead.
Ismene hovers near Bargrimm.
They kill some fire elementals.
[Silvestre]: Another door!
[Silvestre]: Hold on, I think I can get it.
[Cambrin]: At least we're freeing more prisoners!
[Silvestre]: Uh, there we go, but…
[Cambrin]: No princess?
[Silvestre]: Not yet.
[Silvestre]: This one's a Scarlet.
[Ismene]: Not even they deserve to be down here.
[Cambrin]: Mizzy has it right.
Ismene blushes a little and beams at Cam.
[Silvestre]: One more, we'll see if it's Moira this time.
It is a giant ogre. He is bigger than the door.
[Halliday]: … oh.
[Halliday]: That isn't a princess.
[Silvestre]: Uh… they seem friendly?
Ismene whispers, "How did they even get him in there?"
[Bargrimm]: How did the ogre get *in* there?
[Cambrin]: At least not a dwarven princess.
[Halliday]: Maybe they build it around him.
[Cambrin]: Polymorph, perhaps?
[Bargrimm]: Built…. the mountain?
Ismene giggles, then muffles it though sparkling brown eyes still look toward Bargrimm.
[Halliday]: Oh, yes. Polymorph.
[Silvestre]: Oh yeah, that makes sense.
The come back into a big round room. It looks familiar.
[Silvestre]: Are we back at the beginning?
[Halliday]: From before.
[Halliday]: Yes.
They take a different path.
[Silvestre]: Oh hey, it's the elder!
[Bargrimm]: Hold here, lad.
[Bargrimm]: Migh' be bait. Illusions. Tha' sort o' thing.
Halliday peers at Elder Morndeep searchingly.
[Silvestre]: Should we go check?
[Halliday]: The Dark Irons have Elune elders?
[Ismene]: Even I think that looks like a trap.
Halliday blinks at High Justice Grimstone.
Cambrin points at High Justice Grimstone.
High Justice Grimstone sentences us to death!
[Silvestre]: Well okay, it was a trap. We are so surprised.
[Halliday]: We didn't have a trial.
[Halliday]: They can't just -sentence- us.
[Bargrimm]: Tha's no' due process.
Halliday nods firmly at Bargrimm.
[Silvestre]: I don't think they got due process in the mountain.
[Ismene]: "The Fury" is two bats?
It's a bit more than two bats, in the end, but nothing the team can't handle.
[Ismene]: The door's open.
[Ismene]: Now there are two doors open.
[Halliday]: This one goes up.
[Silvestre]: Are they done then?
[Silvestre]: We're done with their whole justice thing?
[Ismene]: That was a stupid trap.
In payback for the stupid trap, the team kills dozens of Dark Iron dwarves. Specifically, the spectators for this farce of a legal system.
[Silvestre]: I don't see Thaurissan or anybody important looking in here…
[Silvestre]: Guess he wasn't sitting in on our 'judgment'
[Silvestre]: Okay, so, I think we judged them pretty good.
[Silvestre]: Also, did not see any ruler-looking people.
[Ismene]: Nice to know their leader wasn't here cheering for our deaths.
[Cambrin]: Attention Dark Irons. You have been weighed. You have been judged. And you have been found wanting.
Sil chuckles.
[Silvestre]: No, he's busy mind-controlling kidnapped princesses.
[Ismene]: Now what?
[Cambrin]: I saw that in a play once, I always wanted to say it.
[Silvestre]: We got more city to explore, I think?
[Silvestre]: There was also that elemental. The one the gnome in the camp was on about.
[Ismene]: Hmph. I can mind-control people, too.
[Halliday]: … you can?
[Ismene]: Yes. But I don't.
[Silvestre]: It's okay, only humans. *Sil says dryly*
[Silvestre]: Or humanoids? How does that work. Can you mind control Bargrimm?
[Ismene]: I couldn't mind control Bargrimm! He's too nice!
Bargrimm blinks. "Wha' now?"
They attack another group of dwarves. One protects himself with a divine shield of Light.
[Silvestre]: Wait is he a paladin?
[Halliday]: Yes. He seemed to be.
[Cambrin]: Funny kind of paladin to work for the Dark Irons.
[Silvestre]: Didn't realize there was Dark Iron friend paladins, yeah.
[Silvestre]: Want me to stun one?
[Cambrin]: Looks like we've found another big one.
He is referring to the large golems. We fought some in the safe room, but the team was a bit tired and didn't talk about it at the time. It happened!
[Silvestre]: This is a safer feeling bridge than the chain, right?
[Halliday]: Yes.
[Halliday]: Though it ought to have railings.
[Silvestre]: Yeah, like we said earlier. Not big on safety.
[Silvestre]: Okay, these are big.
[Halliday]: Yes.
They fight golems, workers, and finally their leader.
[Silvestre]: Just like the guys in the safe room.
[Ismene]: We fought bigger. Remember Uldaman?
[Bargrimm]: Decent craftsmanship, tho.
[Halliday]: Can you make these, Bargrimm?
They come into a large hallway.
[Silvestre]: Now this place looks pretty grand.
[Cambrin]: In an evil kind of way.
Lord Incendius says: I cannot be destroyed! By the will of Ragnaros, I shall be reborn!
He was definitely defeated. Who can say about being reborn? The team fights their way down a final giant corrider and find… what a surprise, a giant. Kind of a molten giant.
[Silvestre]: I think this is the end of the corridor, no throne room down here.
[Ismene]: How do we fight a giant?
[Silvestre]: I have swords, how's that?
[Bargrimm]: From th' ankles up.
[Halliday]: Will swords work on something like that?
Halliday looks dubious.
Ismene laughs a little.
[Ismene]: I suppose we'll find out.
[Silvestre]: I hope so. If they melt, I'm out two really nice swords.
[Cambrin]: Well, let me sharpen mine up.
[Halliday]: Oh, I don't think they'd melt. But you might chip or dull one.
[Bargrimm]: Look, th' blighter's made o' rocks mostly, an' I've still got three bombs.
[Ismene]: And I suppose lots of ice spells.
[Halliday]: Bombs sound effective, yes.
[Halliday]: I have ice spells.
[Cambrin]: All right then. Let's do this.
[Ismene]: And I'll, um, try to make sure … no one burns to death?
[Bargrimm]: Chill him down, chip him tae pieces. Righ'?
[Halliday]: Thank you, Ismene.
They all fight well, and the giant is defeated! He falls directly on top of Sil.
[Ismene]: SIL!
[Halliday]: Did it fall on Sil?
[Ismene]: I think so!
[Bargrimm]: Damn.
Cambrin comes over to push.
[Silvestre]: Wow, thanks for getting me out from under there!
Ismene heaves a huge sigh, one hand over her heart.
[Halliday]: You should watch where they fall, Sil.
[Halliday]: Don't be underneath.
[Ismene]: I don't know what I'd have told Ben.
[Silvestre]: On the upside, my swords didn't melt!
[Cambrin]: How's your head, Sil?
Cambrin brushes some embers from Sil's back.
[Silvestre]: Alright I think.
[Silvestre]: That thing is HEAVY, let me tell you!
They cast around for an easy path out, not quite ready to go to Ironforge yet.
[Cambrin]: This tunnel?
[Halliday]: Yes.
[Halliday]: Watch out!
[Halliday]: On your right.
A large patrol of Dark Iron dwarves wander by.
Ismene hides behind Cam. A lot.
Silvestre holds his breath.
Halliday tries to hide behind a brazier, uncomfortably.
Cambrin tries to think like a wall.
They pass by and don't notice the team at all.
[Bargrimm]: You think we could take some o' these cannon back?
[Ismene]: I'm not carrying one.
[Cambrin]: Did you bring a mule?
[Bargrimm]: Would love tae set a few out front o' the headquarters.
[Silvestre]: I reckon we looked in every corner down here, might need to report back.
[Halliday]: But we haven't seen a princess? Is she even here?
[Ismene]: I can't tell what we have and haven't seen.
[Halliday]: Well, we definitely have not seen a princess.
[Silvestre]: Supposed to be. He said they didn't kill her.
[Silvestre]: Maybe we took a wrong turn?
[Bargrimm]: Nay, she's no' been anywhere I've seen.
[Halliday]: Oh, we haven't been in that room.
[Halliday]: There are dwarves there.
They check the room. No Moira, just a bunch of (now dead) Dark Iron dwarves.
[Silvestre]: Halliday, want to send us back?
[Halliday]: All right.
[Cambrin]: Time to report back.
Bargrimm agrees.
They take Halliday's portal back to Ironforge, and head to the throne room.
Cambrin salutes King Magni Bronzebeard with respect.
[Halliday]: We did not find a princess.
[Silvestre]: We'll have to go back and look for her! We'll save her, your majesty!
Halliday nods politely.
[Cambrin]: We put quite a dent in their forces as well, sir.
[Halliday]: I am going to wash my hair right now, though. I smell singed.
[Cambrin]: We'll regroup and go again.
[Silvestre]: Good idea, I could use a bath.
