Sir Dane Atley Cambrin Elrissadel Silvestre

Cambrin waves at you.
Silvestre waves at Cambrin.
Cambrin: Howdy. Are you Sil? I'm Cambrin, one of the new folks.
Silvestre: Oh! I saw that in the newsletter.
Silvestre: Green squad, yeah?
Cambrin nods at you.
Cambrin: That's right.
Silvestre: Want to join me here? Room at the table. *Sil grins and gestures at the empty seats*
Cambrin: Thanks. Been on my feet a while at the forge.
Silvestre raises a hand to Edris. "You want a beer? I'll buy."
Cambrin looks more comfortable now that he can see the entrances.
Cambrin: I'm good, thanks!
Silvestre: Allright.
Cambrin pulls a Flask of Stormwind Tawny from his satchel.
Silvestre lift his own beer mug in a vague toast.
Silvestre: Smith, huh? Ben does that too. Made me some daggers an' all that.
Cambrin: Yes. My old trainer put me to it to help me put on muscle.
Cambrin: Kind of stuck with it.
Silvestre: Don't think I've got the patience for that sort of thing. Seems like you gotta make sure everything is -just- right.
Cambrin: Sure. But sometimes, you just beat the crap out of a hunk of metal.
Cambrin: Recycling scrap and all.
Cambrin: Old pots, old knives, whatever. Chuck it into the forge, heat it up, mash it together.
Silvestre laughs, glancing at Cambrin's muscled arms. "I can see that as a strength-building thing. I mean, I say I ain't got the patience, but I do for some things. Like practicin' knife-throwing."
Cambrin: Can't make a sword or good armor from it, but you can make other stuff.
Cambrin: Oh yeah?
Cambrin: I can throw a knife, but the safest place to stand is in front of the target.
You laugh.
Silvestre: It just takes practice. Like, a -lot- of practice. I been at it since I was a kid.
Cambrin nods at you.
Cambrin: What's the trickiest throw you ever made?
Silvestre: Oh, um… *Sil thinks back* Mizzy… that's one of my friends, she's in the company… likes to tell people how I ran away to join the circus. Which is a true thing. So I guess the showy kinda stuff was the trickiest?
Silvestre: I mean, when they got you throwing at a -person- you ain't supposed to hit, you gotta be real careful about it.
Cambrin: Oh, so like hitting an apple on someone's head? Stuff like that?
Silvestre: Yeah, that sorta thing! People love it, I think 'cause it could go wrong so easy. We got priests, of course, but still.
Silvestre: Then how about you? What's the coolest thing you ever smithed?
Cambrin: Nothing too special yet, but I got one of the masters here to show me how to make a special chest piece.
Silvestre: Oh yeah? Like, special with carvings on it or something?
Cambrin: A couple of weird dwarven things, maybe. They call it an Ironforge Breastplate. Fits pretty well.
Silvestre: Ironforge… so like dwarven city special. Nice.
Cambrin nods at you.
Cambrin: I mean, I had to change up the pattern so it would fit.
Cambrin: Since I'm not, you know.
Silvestre: Yeah I mean… *Sil gestures up and down at Cambrin* Not really dwarf-shaped, no.
Cambrin points one finger at Edris.
Cambrin: You got it.
Silvestre: They're pretty good with the smithing though… did you get to work with the lava an' all?
Cambrin: A little bit. Say I'll get to do more when I'm better.
Cambrin: Tricky stuff.
Silvestre: Yeah, lava smithing. *Sil nods, as if he knows what he's talking about (he doesn't)*
Atley stomps into the tavern, and can be heard exchanging growls with Bruuk himself downstairs, culminating in the delivery of a frothy mug.
Silvestre calls downstairs. "That you, Mr. Atley?"
Atley: Aye! T'is.
Atley responds, his voice booming. The stomping gravitates to the stairs, and then ascends until finally Dane steps into view.
Silvestre adds excitedly to Cambrin, "Talkin' bout smiths, that's the guy who's been teaching Ben!"
Cambrin cocks an eyebrow at Sil. "Another of the team?"
Silvestre: Mr. Atley? Yeah! He's leader of Blue Squad.
Atley glances between them for a time before growling. "'Lo then, you lot."
Silvestre waves cheerfully at Mr. Atley.
Silvestre: Want to join us?
Atley returns the cheerful wave with a gruff nod before he marches up to the table and kicks out a chair. "Aye, I'll. Who's this one then?" he asks, gesturing to Cambrin with his mug.
Silvestre: Cambrin here's a smith! And in Green Squad.
Cambrin: Howdy, sir. Cambrin Cooper. Yes, with the new squad.
Cambrin waves at Elrissadel.
Cambrin: Howdy, Rissa! Grab a chair.
Silvestre looks at the elf somewhat nervously, but smiles.
Elrissadel: oh hello Cambrin
Elrissadel: who are your companions this evening?
Atley sets his jaw and shakes his head. "I'm no knight, lad. Dane or Atley'll do." He takes his first sip, briefly nodding to Elrissadel.
Cambrin: Rissa's another of the Green Squad team.
Elrissadel nods to her tablemates
Atley: Another new recruit, have — aye. Dane Atley.
Cambrin eyes Atley.
Elrissadel: ah. more company members then?
Cambrin: Yep!
Elrissadel peers at the trio of human males in poorly hidden curiosity
Silvestre: Hi, Rissa! *Sil salutes her with his drink, and takes a sip* I'm Sil Silenstep.
Atley: You lot join together, did you?
Elrissadel: we were inducted at the same time yes
Cambrin: Just met yesterday, though.
Atley nods slowly, raising a free hand to audibly itch at the wiry stubble clinging to his cheek. "Just the two f'you, or s'there more?"
Silvestre: I've been with Cobalt since near the beginning, so if you got any questions I bet I can answer 'em! *Sil flashes his most charming smile* And you don't do magic tricks, do you, Rissa?
Elrissadel: Yes, Elrissadel Shadowbloom. it is nice to meet you
Cambrin chuckles.
Elrissadel: um. I do a version of magic yes.
Cambrin: Well, she sure pulled one on me yesterday!
Elrissadel: though not like you mages
Elrissadel grins at Cambrin
Elrissadel: sorry your mages. not you specificially
Elrissadel: human mages is what i meant
Elrissadel is clearly rambling trying not to offend
Silvestre nods. "Yeah, I don't think none of the rest of us here are magical."
Atley: Wot' sort of magic?
Atley inquires slowly, almost tiredly.
Elrissadel: Nature Magic. I am a Druid
Cambrin seems more relaxed at seeing a familiar face.
Silvestre: Oh, well that's neat. So no teleportation stuff, then?
Elrissadel: no. Though the captain did summon a portal for me, that was… impressive
Atley takes a lengthy sip, nodding once. "Aye, t'd talking to plants and animals or sommat', aye?"
Elrissadel looks to Dane his accent causing her a bit of trouble
Elrissadel: I can commune with nature, speaking as we are now is not quite it though
Silvestre: More like a feelin' thing than a words thing?
Atley nods once, bobbing his head a few times. "Aye. We've got one other like that, f'I recall. Maybe more."
Elrissadel nods "exactly so"
Elrissadel winks at Cambrin before turning to the other two "but it can be a bit more than plants, after all all creatures are one with nature"
Cambrin grins wickedly at Elrissadel.
Silvestre: Even like… humans? Do you commune with humans? *Sil asks innocently*
Elrissadel: the wild animals can lend their strength. observe
Cambrin: And the lady would know!
Elrissadel transforms into a bear!
You clap excitedly for Elrissadel.
Atley leans forward to speak, parting his lips, before he blinks at the bear.
Silvestre: You look like a bear!!
Atley: Fackin' hell. S'a trick alright.
Elrissadel nods at you.
Atley raises his frothy mug.
Cambrin: I think that's gonna come in handy at some point.
Elrissadel: It usually does!
Silvestre: I mean it's got to. Can you maul things like a bear?
Atley scoffs with amusement. "Aye. One or another. Could've used sommat' like that in my time once or twice."
Elrissadel: I can, and just today I completed a quest and can also turn into a Sea Lion.
Silvestre: Whoa! I bet you can swim real fast.
Cambrin blinks slowly.
Atley: Like sea dogs, those, innit'.
Elrissadel: much much larger than dogs. but essentially
Silvestre: They got manes like land lions?
Elrissadel: lol
Atley grunts. "Proper water hounds."
Elrissadel: no unfortunately. but that would be a sight!
Silvestre: Wow yeah. I guess that's the boy lions, though, not the girl lions. *Sil nods* And you'd be a girl lion.
Elrissadel: Indeed
Atley grunts again, turning on Cambrin. "Sil here says you're a smith?"
Cambrin nods at Atley. "Yep, but a pretty new one."
Atley nods a few times. "Where you from, lad?"
Cambrin: Originally? Silverpine.
Cambrin: Came south when… well, you all know.
Atley eyes Cambrin for a moment, narrowing his gaze. "Aye. Silverpine." He takes a long sip.
Atley: Knew a lass from up that way.
Cambrin: Spent a few years with the Sisters in Stormwind.
Atley runs his tongue along his lower for a moment as he maintains the squint. "Aye, must've not been alone in that."
Elrissadel looks slightly confused "I'm sorry the sisters of stormwind?"
Cambrin looks down at the table, drawing a circle with one finger.
Cambrin: They run the orphanages.
Cambrin: Take care of the kids. I was one of the older ones.
Elrissadel: ah. I see, thank you for explaining.
Atley glances between them, green eyes flicking back and forth before they resettle on Cambrin. "How old were you when y'left 'em, then?"
Cambrin: Good people, they make sure we're all educated.
Silvestre looks at Cambrin a little sadly.
Cambrin: Thirteen. So a few years with them, then a little time in the Militia.
Atley: Militia? Which?
Cambrin: People's Militia, down in Westfall.
Atley grunts with understand, gesturing towards Cambrin. "It'd be Ben Hazan who brought you in, then. He broke his teeth with Stoutmantle's lads as well."
Cambrin: Aye, I guess the Marshall put in a word for me.
Atley grunts, gaze lingering on Cambrin before turning on Elrissadel. "And how'd you come about us, lass?"
Cambrin settles back, relieved.
Elrissadel turns to Dane "Auralind recommended me"
Atley: Mm. Good sort, her. Dead hard.
Elrissadel: She is quite amazing. I have known her most of my life
Elrissadel: actually all of it
Atley parts his lips to speak, before he hesitates, but then he just asks it anyway.
Atley: How old are you, then?
Elrissadel smiles. "ah quite young actually, for a Kaldorei"
Elrissadel: I am 28
Cambrin looks at Rissa, curious.
Silvestre: Oh, wow, not much older'n me!
Silvestre: Though I guess you got millenia ahead of you.
Atley glances at Sil. "Wot' are you, then?"
Elrissadel: I should yes
Silvestre: Me? Oh, I'm twenty-two.
Atley hangs his head back to put away more ale before he lowers the mug, wiping his mouth off on his arm.
Atley: Fine age.
Elrissadel turns to Dane "and you Dane Atley?"
Silvestre: Yeah, it suits me. *Sil nods*
Elrissadel: i'm sorry but it was unclear how we are to address the other company members. is it just names or are there titles?
Atley eyes Elrissadel, and then the ceiling as he thinks, itching his chin.
Atley: Mm, just Dane'll do. Or Atley. And I wager m'sommat around thirty one, this year.
Silvestre: Me you can just call Sil. I don't have any title. Some people call me Silly, which is also fine if you wanna.
Cambrin smirks. "I opened my big mouth, and now Glynara want to be called Sargent."
Elrissadel: ah! thank you. So that is young for a human? or… I'm sorry I'm still learning these things
Elrissadel looks to Cambrin "yes that was confusing. as was the pig kissing"
Silvestre looks curiously at Dane at 'I wager', but doesn't comment. He smiles and says,"So we're all pretty young here, by night elf reckoning."
Cambrin shudders at the sight of Elrissadel.
Atley waves a hand around. "Wait, wot'? Glynara, senator-lass kissed a pig?"
Elrissadel: And made the rest of us follow suit
Silvestre: Pig kissing? *Sil looks between the two of them, confused*
Cambrin mutters "Some of us."
Atley deadpans Elrissadel with fury growing in his eyes.
Atley: She had you kiss a pig.
Cambrin: I just fed it. Her.
Elrissadel: Indeed I believe the boars' name was Damsel? an odd choice
Cambrin: The pig, that is.
Silvestre: So it was like her pet or somethin'?
Elrissadel seems perplexed by Dane's demeanor "was that uncommon?"
Cambrin nods at you.
Atley: … Aye.
Atley gestures to Cambrin.
Atley: How many others were made to kiss the beast, then.
Elrissadel: It was a very pleasant beast. no harm came
Silvestre: I never got asked to kiss a pig.
Atley nods at Sil.
Elrissadel looks at Sil "so it's not the normal method of induction?"
Atley: S'not.
Silvestre: Uh, no.
Cambrin: The captain did say we didn't need too.
Elrissadel starts to giggle
Silvestre: Well, -that's- good, at least.
Elrissadel laughs.
Atley looks to Cambrin. "Captain Sparkwire knows of this, then?"
Cambrin: I think Glynara just wanted to make sure we'd all get along with her… um, friend.
Cambrin grins at Rissa.
Atley seems to settle down, sharply snapping his neck with a tilt left and right.
Elrissadel: oh it was a prank! oh! Are all companies so silly?
Atley: Aye, well, bit of a quirk to that one, Glynara.
Silvestre: Oh yeah, she's an interesting person. Senator's daughter an' all.
Atley: Can't go more'n five bloody minutes without bringing it up.
You laugh.
Cambrin chuckles at you.
Cambrin: That's the first thing she told me about herself!
Silvestre: I mean, I -wish- I was so proud of my family.
Atley scoffs with amusement at Cambrin. "Aye? How novel." He looks to Sil.
Atley: Aren't you a merchant son, or sommat', up north?
Elrissadel looks sharply to Sil
Cambrin looks thoughtful. "But if she's part of the company, she must be all right overall, eh?"
Silvestre: Oh, Stormwind, but not anymore. *He smiles at Dane* I'm a -Silentstep- now, I made up my own family.
Atley grumbles and raises a hand. "Aye, Glynara's well 'nuff, only poking a bit f'fun. D'not tolerate her if she didn't belong with us."
Atley looks back to Sil, lofting a chestnut brow. "You've … gotten married, have you?"
Silvestre nods. "I only met her like once or so? But she seemed like a good sort."
You take one look at Atley and let out a guffaw!
Elrissadel does a double take
Silvestre: No, no… I mean, I hope some day.
Elrissadel: you joined with someone you do not know?
Silvestre: No, I just didn't want my family anymore, so I talked to lawyer and they made me a different family name! You can do that, apparently!
Cambrin looks surprised. "Huh."
Atley raises both brows now, his expression slightly mirroring that of Cambrin's.
Atley: Mm.
Cambrin: They all lowlives, or something?
Silvestre: I was noddin' to Glynara. Glynara bein' a good sort. I did -not- marry Glynara Craghart.
Elrissadel: ah
Silvestre: Nothin' against her now, I'm sure she'll be a great partner for somebody someday, but maybe I'm not politician husband material.
Atley: Mm, well, s'not exactly a bad thing, that.
Elrissadel: So human families are.. complex it seems
Silvestre glancing to Cambrin, he adds cheerfully. "I reckon they're smugglers, but anyway we just didn't fit right. Me an' my old family."
Atley: *Smugglers?* Your kin?
Silvestre shrugs. "I didn't know it when I changed my name, but yeah."
Cambrin looks at Rissa. "Elven families aren't?"
Elrissadel: Oh, there is the usual tensions, but we are smaller? More spread out perhaps. Children are unique and rare. I don't know it just seems perhaps different.
Cambrin nods thoughtfully.
Silvestre: You got any brothers or sisters, then?
Elrissadel: no. just me
Elrissadel: but I am not a huge expert on the Kaldorei, I have not spent a lot of time around my people
Silvestre: Oh? Why not?
Atley up-nods inquisitively, eyeing Silvestre.
Elrissadel: We hid. My mothers were not allowed to practice so we did not expose ourselves more than necessary
Silvestre: Oh, you mean like practicin' bein' a druid?
Cambrin: Oh right, you mentioned something about that yesterday.
Elrissadel nods.
Atley: Practice druidism, aye? Why not?
Elrissadel shrugs. Who knows?
Elrissadel: tradition?
Silvestre: Kind of a crap reason to make people go into hiding.
Elrissadel: it matters little now, the battle at Hyjal changed everything for the Kaldorei
Atley: You lot hunters 'er — sentinels, like Auralind?
Elrissadel: no. the Sentinels would not have accepted us.
Atley eyes Elrissadel for a moment as if expecting to see a defect of some sort.
Atley: Why not? Y'seem fit enough.
Cambrin snorts. "High folk the same all over."
Elrissadel: no. they would not have accepted us women as druids. it was illegal. they are enforcers
Silvestre follows Dane's lead, with an admiring gaze at Elrissadel.
Silvestre: But you knew Auralind then, and she was alright with you all?
Atley: Women…
Atley says thoughtfully, taking another sip.
Elrissadel: Auralind believed us hunters… I think? Her husband knew the truth. But I am young. I am not sure what she knew or didn't
You nod at Elrissadel.
Silvestre: Her daughter's a druid now, though, so she's gotta be okay with it.
Cambrin: Wow. So you had to really live in the cracks'n'corners, then.
Elrissadel: yes! and her Husband never agreed with the seperation. but she was a Sentinel, it would have been a huge conflict of interest. I just don't know
Atley: Hidden for practicin druidism. Maybe we're not so different afterall, elves and men.
Elrissadel: indeed. it was almost always hiding. or at least lying. And now… now everything is ok! it is a very odd transition
Elrissadel: Immortality does not convey any high mindedness, no matter what the highborne thought. that's for sure.
Atley: How many others were like that? Running about in the wilderness, hiding and the like?
Atley takes another looong pull from the mug, emptying it.
Elrissadel: a good number. We were a waystation of sorts.
Silvestre: Wow, so like a whole underground night elf society.
Elrissadel laughs softly "this seems to be the same for all sentintent creatures no?"
Elrissadel: always some who do not conform
Atley tilts his head back and forth, peering at the wall. "Aye, y'could say that."
Cambrin: World's a big place, all right. Should be room for everyone.
You nod at Cambrin.
Cambrin grimaces. "And not shoved into little boxes."
Elrissadel: and bigger now than ever! it is exhilerating!
Silvestre: Yeah, too many people think they ought to get to decide who other people are. *Sil nods again*
Atley: S'changed an awful damn lot the past ten years.
Elrissadel: quite quickly
Atley unintentionally slams his mug down.
Atley: Well, you lot, I'm off.
Atley pushes himself with a grunt, rotating his right arm.
Cambrin nods at Atley.
Silvestre: 'Bout time for me to head out myself.
Elrissadel smiles at Dane, "it was nice to meet you"
Atley nods curtly to all of them at once.
You wave at Atley.
Atley: Aye, carry on. And Cambrin, we ought to tend an anvil sometime.
Silvestre: Always good to see you, Mr… Dane.
Elrissadel waves goodbye to Atley. Farewell!
Cambrin: I'd appreciate that!
Atley grunts and grumbles incoherently at Sil before stomping off, but it didn't necessarily sound hostile.
Silvestre gulps back the rest of his beer. "I better turn in. I got work to do tomorrow."
Elrissadel: it was very nice to meet you… Silly?
Silvestre: Good to meet you both, though. Hope to see you around!
Cambrin: Same here.
Silvestre grins at Elrissadel.
Elrissadel waves goodbye to you. Farewell!
You wave goodbye to everyone. Farewell!
Cambrin waves goodbye to you. Farewell!
