Azizia Raschal Crowflight

21:42:29 Azizia is sitting on the border of the well in Stormwind's park. She puts her hand in the water and whispers in the Draenei language.
21:43:25 Raschal leaps and runs along the rocks, almost looking cool until his foot hits a damp place and he falls into the well.
21:43:32 Raschal: Whoops!
21:43:47 Raschal: Arkenon poros! … Sorry, that's the only Draenei I know.
21:44:13 Raschal drips cheerfully.
21:44:53 Azizia raises an eyebrow at him and stays sitting. "You disturbed them. The spirits."
21:45:16 Raschal tips his head, birdlike. "What spirits?" He looks around.
21:46:29 Azizia: The spirits of water. They are powerful in places like this! *She gestures at the Night Elven architecture.*
21:47:25 Raschal: I didn't even know water had spirits. Especially not -this- water. This is just plain old boring pond water. Not even a real moonwell.
21:48:10 Raschal: It was nice of the people of Stormwind to try to make us feel at home, but it's really just kinda decorative.
21:48:21 Raschal: Real moonwells ~glow.~
21:49:05 Raschal: Or maybe I just leaked a state secret…
21:49:26 Raschal strokes his clean-shaven chin thoughtfully.
21:51:09 Azizia nods. "I have seen it. But spirits grow with energy put into a place. It was built with intention to ressemble real Moonwell, yes? It attracts same spirits. Less powerful, it is true."
21:52:28 Raschal: I don't know much about spirits, to be honest. Aside from wisps. Is this a draenei thing?
21:52:39 Raschal settles down next to her confidently as though invited.
21:52:56 You laugh at Raschal.
21:53:20 Azizia: Many of my people would be insulted that you think this is "a Draenei thing".
21:53:48 Azizia: Only some of us turned to these spirits. In necessity.
21:54:13 Raschal: Oh. Sorry. I do tend to insult a lot of people by accident. *He smiles sheepishly.*
21:54:31 Raschal: … And sometimes on purpose. But only if they deserve it.
21:54:32 Raschal grins wickedly.
21:55:34 Azizia smirks. "I understand the need to insult people deserving it. I almost did to you. When you fell!"
21:55:46 Raschal: Oh yeah. I keep forgetting my reflexes aren't what they used to be.
21:56:59 Azizia: Did you hurt? Spirits of water can heal, sometimes.
21:57:34 Azizia: I do not know if they would be happy to after you jumped into the waters uninvited.
21:57:51 Raschal: Yeah, I got hurt, but I didn't get to a healer in time, and the injuries kind of… set. Or so they say. Once the body fully accepts an injury you're bone— er, out of luck.
21:58:27 Raschal: So if I'm going to recover, I have to do it the slow way. I have all these stretches and exercises and stuff I'm supposed to do.
22:00:01 Azizia nods. "I too. I was weakened by crash and irradiated crystals, on Azuremyst Isle. I only woke up recently, and the legs are still weaker than before. Time will heal."
22:00:32 Raschal: Yeah. And we both have that, right? Draenei live a long time, like we do. But tell me more about these water spirits. So all water has spirits, even just regular pond water?
22:01:45 Azizia nods. "If you wish. You may be familiar already with this, because orcs share this connection to spirits of nature."
22:03:52 Raschal peers at Azizia curiously. "What makes you think I know orcs?"
22:05:41 Azizia: Because there is a war against them. They are enemies. I thought everyone here know orcs! And you share some manners with them.
22:05:43 You grin wickedly at Raschal.
22:07:31 Azizia: To go back to spirits, all things have it. Spirits. You, and I, and ponds, and rivers, and rocks. The air you breathe too. They make balance in the world. If you treat them kind, they give to you, if you treat them bad, they destroy.
22:07:49 Raschal chuckles slightly at the manners comment./
22:08:20 Raschal: Rocks have spirits too? And air? So we're always being watched, huh.
22:09:59 Azizia: Shamans like me talk with them and help them to receive their help. Sometimes. They are @!$# sometimes. *She leans over the water.* I do not mean offense to you, however.
22:10:34 Raschal: Ohhhh shaman! Yeah, I have heard that term. They have those in the Horde, but I thought they were just some kind of priests. Not the same thing?
22:11:08 Raschal doesn't even flinch at Azizia's salty language.
22:11:54 Azizia: Yes, all have spirits. You are always watched. It is nice when you feel alone and simply need a presence, but it is difficult when you are alone and need them, but they do not answer. *She frowns.*
22:12:26 Raschal studies her for a moment, looking thoughtful.
22:12:47 Raschal: So is that a thing you can study and get better at? Making them answer you?
22:13:05 Azizia: I do not know for the Horde, but for Draenei, priests and shamans are very very different. I honor the Light, but in other way. Through the Light's children, the elements.
22:14:24 Azizia: Yes. You get better at finding the balance in yourself. The elements like that. And with experience helping spirits, stronger spirits might answer when you call.
22:14:57 Raschal: Okay, so I'm curious about something…
22:15:50 Raschal: Say a man were to sneak into my house and murder me or something. There's air in my house. Could a shaman come in and ask the air spirits, "Hey, who murdered that guy?" and then the spirits would tell him? Or her, I guess.
22:19:08 Azizia scratches her neck, staring at her reflection in the water as she thinks. "Maybe. If the spirits in your house care for you. If you treat them kind, they might mourn you and be willing to help a shaman find the person that did this."
22:20:31 Raschal: But not just because the shaman was really good at talking to spirits?
22:21:27 Raschal: They would have to have a specific reason to care.
22:22:21 Raschal: I guess that makes sense, or there would be NO crime in the Horde at all. Their shamans could just come ask the air or the rocks who did it.
22:24:00 Azizia nods. "Sometimes the specific reason is what the shaman can do for them in exchange. But a mortal's death doesn't affect spirits much, so it can be hard to convince them. A waste of time, for them, no matter if people care a lot."
22:24:20 Raschal nods thoughtfully.
22:24:36 Raschal: It's odd to think about being watched constantly, but it makes me feel better if mostly the spirits watching don't care much.
22:24:38 Raschal laughs.
22:26:51 Azizia smiles. "Yes! Most people they are indifferent to. It is better this way than to be part of those they hate!"
22:27:01 Raschal: So what happens if spirits hate you?
22:27:07 Raschal looks at her with fascination.
22:30:08 Azizia: It depends! They will bring you bad things. Angry spirits of water will make a lot of rain and destroy crops to starve or worse, for example. Or they will find a shaman that is willing to take care of you!
22:30:30 Raschal laughs at you.
22:30:56 Azizia: This is why you were lucky I calmed the spirits of this pond before you fell, or they might have sent me at you. *She smirks.*
22:31:10 Raschal: Oh, uh, tell them I'm sorry. I didn't know they were in there.
22:32:17 Azizia: You can be the one who tell them. But I will make first step.
22:32:40 Raschal peers at you searchingly.
22:34:31 Azizia gets up, her many bracelets clinking loudly. "Spirits, I come to ask you to listen to Sir…" she turns to him, waiting for his name.
22:34:51 Raschal: Oh! I'm sorry, talk about rude. I'm Raschal.
22:35:39 Raschal admires the bracelets.
22:35:43 Azizia: Azizia. *She turns back to the pond.* I beg that you listen to what Sir Raschal has to say.
22:36:47 Raschal: Mmm, Sir Raschal. I like it.
22:37:00 Raschal clears his throat, and then speaks softly, solemnly in Darnassian.
22:37:26 Raschal: [Darnassian] O nor lo osa do mush'al ni nor su il'amare dune'adah O dor ethala nor balah do shar'adore O dath osa fal diel al no osa do mush'al ni
22:37:43 Raschal: Sorry, my Common doesn't tend to be very polite. I thought Darnassian would be better.
22:38:52 Azizia: It is a great idea. They understand languages, and the ones we hold dearest they like best.
22:38:54 You kneel down.
22:39:10 Raschal: I hope that helped. I would rather not have any spirits angry at me.
22:39:16 Raschal smiles sheepishly.
22:40:03 Azizia looks as if she is listening intently to the water.
22:40:47 Azizia: [Draenei] Now is the perfect time to get revenge for the way he rudely jumped into your home, if you so desire.
22:40:59 Raschal smiles at her, though he doesn't understand the words.
22:41:16 Raschal stands when she does, just in case.
22:42:00 Azizia | A little wave of water raises from the pond and goes to try and crash against Raschal.
22:43:34 Raschal: Whoa!
22:43:37 Raschal laughs.
22:43:43 Raschal: That's amazing!
22:43:53 Raschal: Um… was that good or bad?
22:43:59 Raschal peers at you searchingly.
22:44:26 Azizia: They said they forgive. Now you can both "call it quits". *She chuckles.*
22:44:30 Raschal takes a good look at Azizia for the first time, his eyes lingering on her jewelry and fine clothing.
22:44:35 Raschal: You didn't tell me your name.
22:46:34 Azizia: Azizia. I know people here have several names, but on us Draenei we just have the one.
22:46:36 You bow before Raschal.
22:46:54 Raschal: Does that get confusing? Or does each of you have a completely different single name?
22:47:15 Raschal: I've never met another Raschal, so I don't usually bother telling people my other name.
22:47:42 Raschal: But there are about a thousand Tirandas and Tirendas and Tarindas and such.
22:48:11 Azizia: Some names are similar, yes, but I have yet to know another Azizia.
22:48:51 Raschal: You have really good taste in clothes, by the way!
22:49:01 Azizia: You are the first "Raschal" I meet as well. In more than one way. *She smirks at him.*
22:50:46 Raschal: Yes, I've never even read about another night elf named Raschal. It's kind of an odd name. It's uhhm… a very specific kind of wind, I guess? I don't know the word in Common.
22:51:10 Azizia: Oh really! *She does a twirl.* This is from someone here! They saw beautiful Draenei clothing and were inspired. I went to the shop and liked what they did with our designs! It was cheap too!
22:51:47 Raschal: Those colors look really good on you. I'm no expert, but I know pretty when I see it.
22:54:17 Azizia: The jewelry are from home, in Exodar. It was not very cheap, however! My favorite one is this one. *She takes one step forward to show her ankle bracelet.* This one is from Draenor, a friend gave it.
22:54:45 Raschal stares at the ankle. Or the bracelet. Or the ankle. There is a hoof involved. So there's a lot to stare at.
22:55:02 Azizia: Thank you! *She giggles, then turns to the water.* The spirits are calling you a flatterer.
22:56:02 Raschal: Not flattery, honestly! You seem to have a knack for choosing very pretty things.
22:56:40 Raschal: I don't have terrible taste, but not great, either. Mostly I choose things for comfort, but I 'clean up pretty good,' as they say. You know that saying?
22:58:44 Azizia listens carefully, but she doesn't seem to be listening to Raschal specifically, then she nods at him. "I know the saying, now. You try to look good, but don't put too much effort."
22:59:29 Azizia: I would buy all the pretty things if I could. I work with company to make money helping people, but pretty things cost many gold.
22:59:52 Raschal: A mercenary company? I'm a courier for a mercenary company!
23:01:18 Azizia: The Company is called Cobalt! What is yours?
23:01:33 Raschal bursts out laughing.
23:01:48 Raschal: I'm a messenger for Cobalt Company! They're the ones who rescued me when I got hurt. Small world.
23:02:07 Raschal: Well, hey, if you ever need any messages delivered anywhere fast, I'm your guy.
23:02:51 Azizia: Ah! So you must be friend of Auralind. I met her first, with Jocoza, the gnome!
23:03:09 Raschal: I uh, wouldn't say we're friends. *He rubs the back of his neck.* I think she doesn't like me, for some reason.
23:03:11 Azizia: I will keep in mind to ask you for help, thank you. *She smiles.*
23:03:18 Raschal smiles at you.
23:04:12 Raschal: I won't even charge.
23:04:29 Azizia: I think I could give you many reason when we first met, but you do not seem that bad anymore. Maybe she just has bad first impression, too.
23:04:57 Raschal: Maybe. She did meet me in the company of some pretty shady people, and also I think she thought her daughter and I were flirting.
23:06:07 Azizia: Well, were you? It might be more than just bad first impression, then. *She smirks at him, grabbing her chin with her hand.*
23:06:36 Raschal gives her big innocent glowy eyes.
23:06:46 Raschal: Honestly, I was just happy to see another night elf who wasn't thousands of years old!
23:08:04 You laugh at Raschal.
23:08:47 Azizia: Now you also have a Draenei friend who is not a thousands of years old.
23:08:55 Raschal: Oh? How old are you?
23:08:57 Raschal smiles at you.
23:09:32 Azizia: I will tell Auralind you didn't flirt with me or her daughter. *She smiles.*
23:09:44 Raschal: That's awfully nice of you, thanks.
23:10:09 Raschal: Because I'm pretty sure she could kill me without breaking a sweat.
23:13:13 Azizia: I am 234 years old. This is pretty young for Draenei.
23:13:26 Raschal: I'm… hm, about fifty? I'd have to look it up.
23:13:28 Raschal laughs at you.
23:14:02 Raschal: So you've got a few years on me, but at least you're not one of those I HAVE SEEN ALL THE AGES OF THE WORLD types.
23:14:28 Azizia: And yes, she could probably kill you, Auralind. She had many many years to train, I think.
23:14:34 Raschal shivers beside you. Chilling!
23:14:48 Raschal: Yes, so I try not to even look at her daughter when we're all in the same room anymore.
23:15:03 Raschal: I honestly don't mean her any harm! Either of them!
23:15:17 Raschal: I only harm people I am -paid- to harm. And uh, not even that anymore really, I mostly just run messages.
23:15:51 Azizia smiles. "I am not, indeed. I have not seen "the ages of the world", but I did see one more world than you did!"
23:16:24 Raschal: I'd love to see another world sometime. But I've seen a lot of this one. I've seen some craaaazy things.
23:17:34 Azizia: From what I have seen of her, Auralind will not mind much if you -look- at her daughter. In my opinion.
23:17:46 Raschal: Oh. Right, because… heh.
23:17:58 Raschal: I don't know though. Not taking any chances.
23:19:04 Azizia: I hope that if you see another world it is not Draenor. It is very dangerous, now. Very… Broken.
23:19:21 Raschal frowns a little. "I guess it's good you got out, then."
23:19:56 Azizia: Maybe you could tell her all these things. Or find someone who help you tell her. Like I did the water.
23:20:20 Raschal: Hmmmm.
23:20:36 Azizia: You need shaman for ancient night elves, not shaman of spirits!
23:20:40 Raschal laughs at you.
23:21:13 Raschal: Well, I should probably get back to work, but let me know if you ever need any messages delivered.
23:21:42 Raschal bows before you.
23:21:52 Raschal: Really nice meeting you, Azizia.
23:21:57 Azizia: I will. Do you deliver packages from shops too? I might need this more than to deliver messages.
23:22:03 Raschal: Sure!
23:22:21 Raschal: Just send me a letter telling me where to go and where to bring it.
23:22:52 Raschal: I can deliver it right to your home, if you want!
23:22:53 Azizia: It was very nice to meet you too, Sir "A very Specific Kind of Wind"!
23:22:57 Raschal laughs at you.
23:23:08 Raschal winks slyly at you.
23:23:12 Raschal waves goodbye to you. Farewell!
23:23:15 You bow before Raschal.
