23:38:49 Averlena is sitting in a chair in HQ, reading a heavy book propped on her lap.
23:38:56 Gausanders slides down the railing.
23:39:35 Averlena looks up, startled. "Oh, hello! Sandy, wasn't it?"
23:40:15 Gausanders: Oh hi there! Yes, I'm Sandy! But my friends call me Lord Duke Sandy of Greatland. Thank you for meeting me on such short notice, my student! *He definitely didn't invite her or contact her since the party. Ever.*
23:40:43 Gausanders takes a seat and smiles at her.
23:41:05 Averlena quirks a grin at him. "Of course, my Lord Duke. So good of you to teach me."
23:41:37 You let out a hearty chuckle.
23:42:28 Averlena closes her book, face thoughtful. (The book appears to be something about fel magics, and the binding looks expensive.)
23:42:56 Gausanders: Seriously, though, how are you doing with all your warlock stuff? Anybody picking on you in the Company because of it? Or trying to convince you to give it up?
23:43:17 Gausanders: If someone does tell me! I'll let them know you're not interested in following their advice!
23:43:54 Averlena: Oh, I mean, a bit. *She shrugs, setting the book on the table nearby.* Everyone's always 'why did you choose to do this' and 'why didn't you become a librarian instead'.
23:44:22 Averlena: They try that on you? *She tilts her head, looking at him*
23:45:48 Gausanders: Yeah! No one ever told me to become a librarian, though! I just don't listen to them. *He fidgets with his gloves.* Mostly… But look, I've been doing this for a year now, and I'm doing great!
23:46:09 Gausanders: The only thing that changed is that I got a brand new eye color, but I think green suits me well!
23:46:49 Averlena: Wait. Your -eyes- are tinted fel? *Her tone could either be taken as shock or admiration*
23:47:40 Gausanders: Well, yeah! *He gets up, squats down in front of her and open his eyes wide.* See?
23:48:25 Averlena leans forward, putting a hand on his shoulder ostensibly to balance herself, and looks deep in his eyes. "Yeah. Wow. I didn't know that could happen."
23:50:06 Gausanders: I mean it could be worse! Some people grow horns, or their skin turned green. I've read that's why orcs are green! So I'm glad it's just my eye color that changed! *He goes back to his seat.*
23:51:03 Averlena giggles. "Then you never know, maybe I'll grow horns soon." *She raises her hands, mimicking horns on the sides of her forehead.
23:51:31 Incunabulum would be very impressed.
23:51:45 Averlena: I haven't been at it all that long, but I don't see why anybody would be doomed to fall. I mean, look at the Scarlets, and nobody says paladins are all doomed to fall.
23:54:07 Gausanders nods. "Yeah! They all say that Fel energies will turn us evil or something, but I don't feel any type of evil ever since I've started doing this! You just have to be a little careful of other warlocks, though, some of them are in cults!"
23:55:29 Averlena nods agreeably. "And why would I bother with -other- warlocks, when I have perfectly good teachers here in Cobalt?"
23:56:21 Incunabulum doesn't love Lena's use of the plural there. They eye Gausanders.
23:56:44 Averlena seems to consider something, then adds, "Do you remember much else of that party? You seemed a little unwell."
23:57:14 Gausanders: Well… The other warlocks have good books too! I've been studying one that has a chapter on how to summon a Felguard. I'm planning on trying that soon! I could teach you, since I'm your teacher!
23:57:47 Averlena: Oh, that sounds interesting! I've been studying up on succubi, but so far I've only got so far as voidwalkers.
23:58:30 Gausanders: Hm, not really… I remember you a little, I showed you how to use a soulstone, but uh, I can't remember much after that!
23:59:14 Averlena: Oh, not much happened after that! *Lena smiles brightly.* I headed out soon after— so many people, it was a little overwhelming.
23:59:15 Gausanders: I don't recommend summoning a succubus! I mean, maybe you'll get lucky like Hexera, but mine is -really- mean.
23:59:54 Averlena: Mean? I thought they were meant to be… *She wiggles her eyebrows playfully* …seductive.
00:00:48 Gausanders: Yeah, there were many people on that day! *He thinks, trying to recall who was there, then shakes his head.* You don't like being around people?
00:01:39 Gausanders: *He smiles* Yeah they're supposed to! She tried to be at the beginning, but since it didn't really work, she became meaner! She says she's playfully mean, but I think she's just plain mean.
00:02:08 Averlena: I like being around people I know… *Lena hesitates* I haven't been in the Company long, so it's hard to know if you're making a good impression or not, with lots of people.
00:02:33 Averlena: Oh, well, that's not playful at all, if the other person isn't playing!
00:03:54 Averlena scoots over to a chair closer to Sandy.
00:04:03 Gausanders nods. "And it's even harder to make a good impression when you're a warlock! Lots of people don't really like us from the get go! I thought you looked nice!"
00:04:38 Gausanders: Yeah, it's not really funny when she's mean, but I'm sure she's good deep down, I just still need to find a way to make that niceness come out. And with what I've learned…
00:05:39 Averlena blinks at Sandy for a moment, but then smiles, "Trying to find how to reach the goodness in the succubus's heart?"
00:06:56 Gausanders: I'm trying to do that with all my demons! But… according to the Draenei, it's impossible because there's this huge, demon boss who controls them all. I've been trying to find a way to free them from that influence first! *He grins.*
00:09:17 Averlena chuckles, leaning one arm onto the table between the two of them. "If you could manage that, I bet no one would doubt you anymore."
00:10:09 Averlena glances over to the food table, and adds, "No idea if it helps with demons, but I've been trying cookies. There's some on the table, if you'd like one."
00:11:39 Gausanders: Yeah! I could show everyone that I did find a way to make demons good! I've been working on curses. If curses can affect how you think or talk, maybe they could cut your mind from outside forces too?
00:12:08 Gausanders: Oh they don't really help with demons but cookies definitely help me get in a good mood! *He gets up and walks fast towards the cookies.*
00:12:28 Gausanders grabs five cookies with no hesitation.
00:12:47 Gausanders walks back, sits down, stare at the cookies, turn to look at Lena. "Want one?"
00:13:19 Averlena says, "Oh, sure. These ones are sugar, but I can make other kinds next time if you like." *Reaches out to accept a cookie*
00:14:37 Gausanders takes a step back when she reaches towards him, goes back to the table and grabs a sixth cookie. He walks back and gives her that one. "Here! I love chocolate cookies, but sugar ones are good too!"
00:14:42 Averlena: I only know a few curses so far, and none that would break a mental control… wait… *Lena's brow furrows slightly* If you cursed a demon -you- were controlling to remove mind controlling, then wouldn't it just go free from -you-?
00:15:40 Averlena takes the sixth cookie with an amused smile and says, "Got it, my Lord Duke. Next time, they'll be chocolate."
00:16:26 Gausanders opens his mouth. Then closes it, frowning, then opens it again and lets out a "uuuuuh" noise. He fills his mouth with a cookie, because it's better to eat cookies than to think about stuff.
00:17:05 Gausanders: Hmm, those cookies are really good! *He bites into the second one.*
00:19:04 Averlena 's smile widens, and she takes a bite of her own cookie. "Glad you like them! I used to make these with my mother, when I was a kid."
00:21:09 Gausanders speaks with his mouth full. "Maybe instead of being a librarian instead of being a warlock, you should have become a baker!" He gives her a big grin and chuckles. "You got a good recipe from your mom! Mine makes hers with magic, so I don't have one!"
00:21:56 Averlena laughs. "That's kind of cheating! But I bet magic cookies are pretty tasty."
00:23:26 Gausanders: There's a gnome who makes even better cookies with magic! *He takes another bite of cookie.* She's a bit… like a succubus is supposed to be, though! *He laughs at his own joke and almost chokes on the cookie.*
00:23:33 Averlena adds, "I have done a lot of cooking, since -before- I was a warlock, but it's really only family recipes and simple meals. I used to cook sometimes for the soldiers, back by Theramore."
00:24:50 Averlena: A gnome like a succubus? *Lena raises her eyebrows* I don't guess I've met her, that sounds pretty hard to forget.
00:25:13 Gausanders: Oh you were in Theramore?! We've been there with the Company! I know that some people in the Company have been there a lot. Do you know people from the Company from before?
00:25:31 Gausanders: Yeah, she's really flirty! But she's nice and gave me -so- much cookies!
00:26:30 Averlena: Oh yeah, I knew a few people from back then, *Lena says casually* What'd you make of the area?
00:27:55 Gausanders: It was pretty! So many leeches in the water! Niris said they were useful but we couldn't go catch them.
00:28:25 Gausanders: Who did you know? Elo? *He smiles at her, curious.*
00:29:22 Averlena: Oh yeah, you gotta watch out for those. *Lena nods* That and the bugs. I don't miss them here. And no, I don't think I ever ran into Elo. I'd met Colson and Dane, though.
00:31:35 Gausanders: I caught so many leeches for Niris, though! It's so much fun! Oh, Dane?! He's great, right? I don't really know Colson, yet though! But his sister is awesome, so he must be too!
00:32:56 Averlena smiles. "He's a courteous guy, Colson. I haven't met his sister — yet, as you said. I hope I get to meet lots of new friends here, though!"
00:35:01 Gausanders: You will! Some are a little tougher to befriend because they only knew bad warlocks until now, but they get friendlier over time! I'm friend with basically everyone here!
00:36:02 Averlena 's expression looks skeptical for a moment, perhaps recalling the chorus of 'Sandy, NO!' at the party, but she just smiles sweetly. "Wow, really? Then maybe you can help me, if I run into somebody I can't win over."
00:38:04 Gausanders: Sure! Some are really, really tough to befriend, but I almost hugged Auralind the other day! She said no, but very politely, so that was nice!
00:39:19 Averlena: Wow, that -is- impressive! And the way night elves are about demons, too.
00:40:20 Gausanders: Yeah! Anyway, as your teacher I should give you, uh… assignments? That would be fun!
00:41:24 Averlena: Oh, sure. What would my Lord Duke like me to do? *She smirks at him playfully, looking over at him with innocent eyes*
00:41:39 Gausanders: I see you were reading a book when I got here… *he looks at the book cover, clearly showing on his face that he doesn't know a thing about this book.* Good, keep going! Except if you start hearing that specific book talk, then send it my way.
00:42:02 Gausanders: I know how to get rid of whispering, cursed objects!
00:42:24 Averlena: Good to know. No talking books. *She nods firmly, still grinning.* I always say, don't trust a book that tries to talk to you.
00:43:00 Averlena: Maybe if I read up more on succubi, we can talk about it next time?
00:43:21 Averlena: I think felguards might still be a bit advanced for me yet.
00:43:30 Gausanders: Neither should you trust talking ink! And don't throw that into the Stormwind canals or you might get in trouble. Don't say you're my student to the warlocks in Stormwind, by the way!
00:44:27 Averlena: Oh, trust me, I will not be talking to the warlocks in Stormwind at all. *Lena taps the side table thoughtfully.* And I won't throw anything magical in the canals. You have my word, my Lord Duke.
00:44:28 Gausanders: … Yeah, that's right, they are very strong! I'd love to help with your succubi, just let me know when. *He shakes with excitment.* Having a student is so great! *He eats another cookie.*
00:45:15 Averlena finishes off her own, one, cookie, and says, "Maybe it's just as fun as being a student, too!"
00:45:44 Gausanders: Perfect! But don't talk to the warlocks in Ironforge either… *He whispers* I think they're in a cult! The ones in Ratchet seem fine, if you really need warlocks that aren't in the Company!
00:46:13 Averlena: That sounds just perfect to me. So if you and Calduin Bennet can't help me with something, I'll go to another continent. Got it.
00:46:55 Gausanders: Yeah, that's the best solution if you ask me! *He says, completely genuine.*
00:46:59 Gausanders: Anyway, I should get going! I have to go feed my rat. And my bird. Not my mechanical squirrel, though! But I definitely will need to stop a fight between the three!
00:47:12 Averlena giggles at you.
00:47:27 Averlena: Wouldn't want to see who would win that fight. I hope all your animals are safe!
00:47:45 Averlena: I'm around here a lot, if you'd like to talk again sometime!
00:47:55 Averlena curtsies before you.
00:48:13 Gausanders: It was nice to meet you, uh… *He hesitates, squinting his eyes, trying to remember her name.* Student! I'll see you around here next time, then! *He grins.*
00:48:18 You salute Averlena with respect.
00:48:45 Averlena: Lena Coit, at your service, my Lord Duke *Lena curtsies again, a smile on her lips.*
00:49:18 Gausanders: Right, I knew that! See you Lena! Don't forget to read your book! *He waves goodbye and leaves.*
00:49:22 You wave goodbye to Averlena. Farewell!
00:49:34 Averlena waves goodbye, still smiling as she turns back to her book.
