Cellara,

It transpires that you were posted in Ashenvale, and I think our chance meeting went as well as I could have expected. In any case, there was no violence on either side, so I have not damaged your career or my reputation, such as it is.

I tried to communicate to you, in person, the words I last wrote. I am not certain of whether you truly heard me, but I felt that the conversation brought us slightly closer together. There is so much anger and so many years between us. I accept that I bear some of the responsibility for our distance, in the past few centuries, but surely the blame is not entirely mine. You could have told me you were married.

There were some things I did not say, which may be saved for a time when we may speak more at ease. At least, if such a time ever comes. You told me of the global, multicultural mercenary company you and your brother have joined. I have been trying to engage with non-Kaldorei as well. I submitted to the use of a mage portal, in order to take part in some kind of human training ritual in the Eastern Kingdoms. It appeared to consist of taking a potion that causes inebriation, followed by running into a cave full of aggressive creatures. Have you done this? I confess I do not understand the point, though the exercise was simple enough to accomplish.

Further, I did not tell you that Celaven is currently traveling with a druid, a man named Caspis. He seems like a good man, and an intelligent one. One not so enamored by authority as you are, daughter. As it happens, Caspis and I have been exchanging letters. It began with my sharing my leathers and hides with him, as he and his daughter are leatherworkers. Now, I admit that I look forward to seeing his replies. I do not know if it is the same for him. I have always been careful to include some materials in my letters, in case it is not. Perhaps I should meet him in person one day.
