RP Hooks
- Spirit Magnet: When she dances (which is often), Zara'zara attracts minor elemental spirits that seem to enjoy "dancing" with her.
- Meat Allergy: Zara doesn't eat red meat…or any mammal flesh. It's odd for a troll. But she will become extremely ill if she consumes it.
Appearance
Zara'zara is a small troll at a few inches under seven feet and light of frame. Though skinny, she is hale and fit, with the lean, agile form of a dancer. Her long, loosely-kept fire-red hair contrasts against her cool, blue-green skin.
She prefers light, loose clothing, favoring the tribal designs of her people and the tauren. She is always adorned in plenty of dangly jewelry crafted mostly of wood, bone, and shells.
Always dancing in some form or another, if Zara isn't literally performing a dance for entertainment or a ritual, she is naturally swaying to the rhythms and melodies of nature. When calm, her movements are fluid and graceful; when impassioned, they are sharp, sudden, and frequently exaggerated.
Zara'zara's eyes are as bright orange as her hair, and yet there is a softness to them that belies their fiery color. She speaks in the typical accent of the jungle trolls. Her voice is soft and melodic, with a bit of a drawl to her annunciation.
Personality
Above all, Zara'zara is a good listener. Her empathy makes it easy for her to connect with others and understand their viewpoints.
She is vivacious and loves to laugh and smile, and moreover to make others smile. Most of all, Zara loves to dance. She is never happier than when she is moving her body to a rhythm.
Romance
History
Zara'zara (literally: Twice Bright) was still a youth when the Darkspear allied with the orcs. Her mother was killed by the naga years before, and she lost her father and uncle in the Third War. Utani, her late uncle's mate, took her in after that and began to teach her the shamanistic ways of the spirits.
As part of her training, Utani took Zara'zara on a journey to Stranglethorn Vale to visit an ancient site sacred to the spirits. The ritual was intense and painful, leaving Zara burned by the fire spirit she communed with. Being a wound caused by fire, she regenerated slowly. So when they camped that night and she picked up a jungle tick in her sleep which bit her, she was vulnerable to whatever venom or disease it had infected her with. Utani did not see the signs of it until weeks later after they had returned to the Echo Isles, but she knew well the source. Due to the tick's bite, Zara developed an intolerance for the meat of mammals; consuming it made her extremely ill.
Zara'zara's shaman training became all the more important in the face of her infirmity, and she dedicated herself fully to becoming a conduit to the spirits. Her vivacity and lust for life served her well in connecting to others, and seemingly even more so in connecting to the spirits. Lesser spirits were frequently drawn to her when she danced, putting on fanciful, but harmless displays of wind, dust, mist, and fire.
When Zara was old enough, Utani pushed her out of the nest. She insisted that the girl should leave Sen'jin Village and go see the world. So she sent her to the Valley of Trials to be tested and find her place. Zara set out, unafraid, confident that the spirits would guide her to where she needed to be.
Relationships
| Utani Utani is like an aunt to Zara, taking her in when every other adult figure in her life had died. Utani taught her how to commune with the spirits, something that brings Zara true joy. She will always be grateful for that. |
