RP Hooks

  • Sentinel: Those in the Sentinels may know of her as a young prodigy that fought tooth and nail to join at the ripe age of 22 shortly after the Third War. You might also note that after a short leave she returned seeming much more mature and with considerable leadership skills that landed her a position as a captain soon after. She has since resigned her command, though her short tenure is a topic of conversation for many.
  • Argent Dawn: Those affiliated with the Argent Dawn or who otherwise have spent time fighting in the Plaguelands might recognize her for her frequent service there as a scout and assassin.
  • Keepers of Time: Bronze Dragons or those affiliated with them could potentially remember her from her mission where she went to aid in the formation of the ancient human kingdom of Arathor.
  • The Living Legacy: Though she may be much taller and slimmer, Velrin's face is the spitting image of her mother, the Sentinel archer Tenniria Silverbloom. She also has the same long violet hair as her father, the druid of the talon, Arravas Duskwing. Both of them had storied records fighting in the War of Shifting Sands, but were killed by Tichondrius while fighting the Burning Legion under the command of Illidan during the Third War. Other night elves may be familiar with them, or perhaps even Velrin herself by association.

Appearance

- An athletically built night elf woman with gorgeous, long, violet hair. She has strong, starkly defined muscles, but carries them gracefully like a dancer. Her body remains slim and lithe as one who has trained keeping agility and flexibility in mind as well as strength.

- She dislikes loose or flowing clothing as it gets in the way of her movements (though she makes an exception to this with her long hair which she refuses to tie back or cut).

- She is always found with an owl feather charm braided into a lock of her hair.

Personality

Vindictive ⬥ Sensitive ⬥ Affectionate ⬥ Driven

- Kind hearted and quick witted. Loves to tease friends, but is gentle and caring to them first and foremost. She is swift to come to the aid of those she cares about.

- Soft hearted. Highly emotionally sensitive. She is deeply sympathetic to the plights of her friends and allies and is swift to joy, laughter, tears, and rage.

- Respectful demeanor. Tends to speak rather formally and always tries her best to be polite to allies and friends.

- Vindictive spirit. The fire of her Kaldorei roots burns brightly. She is quick to wrath and slow to forgiveness towards those who have wronged her or her allies.

History

Velrin was just a young 22 year old at the time of the Third War. Being deemed too young to fight at the time, she was sent away from her home in what is now Felwood to safety in Auberdine. Unfortunately, her parents would never join her as they fell while fighting under the command of the Betrayer. Now without a home, the young Velrin helped tend to the new world tree, Teldrassil, seeing it as a sign of new hope for the Kaldorei.

Along with her duties as a young sentinel, she began to make friends with her new allies in the Alliance. She even began to see some of them as a new family. However, it was not always so pleasant. Strife among her new comrades soon turned ugly, and feeling that she had nowhere to go, Velrin was chosen by the Bronze Dragonflight to assist on a mission in the distant past. On this mission she spent almost 200 years living in the Eastern Kingdoms aiding both the humans and the Quel’dorei, and acquired a newfound sense of admiration and respect for them in the process.

Her return to the present was jarring, but she soon fell back in with her people. She had learned much during her time away from Kalimdor, but she always remained true to her roots and was happy to return to the forests of Ashenvale. She resumed her post in the Sentinels and now fights to protect the forest and all of Azeroth from the forces that would threaten her.

Relationships

Nylarria
“My shalan… She isn’t the partner that I had hoped for, but there’s no use in denying it any longer. I won’t excuse what she’s become, but it wasn’t her fault. She’s been through so much pain and suffering, even more than I have. She doesn’t deserve any of this, and I hope that one day I can help lead her to the happy life she’s never had.”
Celaven
“My darling mate. Our beginning had a bit of a rough start. I had too much doubt and insecurity rushing through me to accept his love. But now I’ve been getting better and he’s been helping me continue to get better every day. I want to be the best version of myself for our future children and for him. He deserves all of that and more.”
Shan'do
"Mother's teacher! This is the woman who helped her become the amazing sentinel that she was. It was an honor to be able to meet her. I hope that over time we can grow closer. I know my mother would be happy to hear that I’ve found love with her beloved teacher’s son."
Caspis
"Shan'do's shalan and Ven's bond-father. He's a very kind and quiet man. He feels very druidic in such a comforting way. He's also a druid of the talon just like an'da! He said he even knew him back in the day.
Florande
“Ven’s little sister. She reminds me a lot of myself when I was younger, both for better and for worse. I'm so happy that I get to be her big sister now. I just know that we're going to have so much fun together.”
Cellara
“Ven’s older sister. She's a bit cold, but I don't think she means ill. I've been trying my best to get closer with her so she has someone to talk to. She seems like she's really lonely.”
Sir Dane
"Strong, gruff, noble, and a man of few words. He is every bit the ideal human knight. While I find admire humans first and foremost for their capacity for compassion, I have a strange affinity for men such as him. Perhaps he reminds me of Thoradin. Either way, it has been an honor to serve alongside him."
Ivrianna
"Sir Dane's wife and mate. She's an assassin much like myself. Regrettably I haven't had much opportunity to see her in action, but I like to visit her when I get the chance to see baby Karson and help out around the house. It'll be good practice for when I have children of my own. And maybe once she has more time again we can train together too!"
Mordecai
“One of the kindest, most gentle men I have ever known. I’ve been meeting with him to talk about how I feel and he helps work me through all those emotions. I owe so much to him. I wouldn’t have half of the joy and happiness I have now if not for him reaching out to pull me up out of the darkness I was living in. For helping me see the light.”
Iphindra
“A bit strange, but a very cheerful and sweet woman. She seems a bit closed off at times, and I definitely understand that, but she’s my friend and I hope we can keep growing closer.”
Azizia
"A comrade from Blue Squad. She has a sassy personality which can be quite amusing to behold when she wields her wit against those deserving of it. I can tell she has a big heart, though, even if she doesn't always wear it very clearly."
Colson
"One of my former squadmates in Cobalt Company. A bit cold on the surface, but I'm sure that is just how he seems. I sense great tenderness within him when he is around his beloved. He and his sister tried to reach out to me, but I was in a dark place then and I pushed them both away. Things have always been fine between us even since then, but I still worry that he doesn't like me. It's probably nothing, though.”
Cressidha
"A former squadmate in Cobalt Company. Much like her brother, she appears somewhat cold on the surface. I do not believe it is out of malice. She did try and reach out to me once, after all, but I was scared and pushed her away. She's always been friendly with me even in spite of that. Maybe she isn't as mad as I was afraid she was."
Ven's Comrade
"A very loud and very friendly draenei man. Quite the specimen as well. He is in impeccable physical condition, something a fellow warrior such as myself can certainly appreciate. I think he would make a good friend. I just wish I had remembered to ask for his name!"
Auralind
"A fine archer and Sentinel. I'm a little sad that I've failed to connect with her much. Most of my times seeing her were while I was still feeling very depressed. Perhaps there will be more hope to grow closer with her in the future. She's the closest I've seen someone get to how skilled minn'da was with a bow."
Sarandis
"Florande's mother. She's a Sentinel much like I used to be. She's been serving in the newly formed squad to help provide relief for the people affected by the Cataclysm in Kalimdor. She seems nice."
Uncle Thorn
"An'da and minn'da's old friend. He's very big and friendly. I remember that we used to play together when he came to visit while I was little. He still checks up on me sometimes."
Alysson
"A rather eccentric fellow, but very sweet. He takes a great interest in kaldorei culture too. I'm glad that there are humans like him who are eager to learn more about my people and our customs."
Erixa
"I've fought by her side a few times now in Cobalt Company. She's a very capable warrior. The few words we've exchanged along our travels have made me a little curious about the history of the draenei."
Zath Tyrrell
"A comrade and former commanding officer of Ven's. I only met him briefly once or twice, but I've donated a fair sum to the orphanage he runs in Redridge over the years."
Cambrin
"A former comrade in arms in Cobalt Company. I never got the chance to know him very personally, but he seems a fine, earnest boy, and he acquitted himself admirably in combat. I've known many like him."
Callyna
"A young worgen woman. She has dreams of becoming a scout or a Sentinel. I tried to encourage her to train hard to follow her dreams, but I'm not sure she took it to heart."
Florande's Friend
"I met her briefly when I happened upon Florande fishing with her in Darnassus. She seems nice."
Miss Ismene
"A sweet girl. She is from Hillsbrad and apparently she remembers me from when I protected her lands from a Forsaken raid. She says that I am part of what inspired her to become an adventurer. I was touched to hear it. She's become a dear friend and someone I know I can reach out to when I'm feeling down."

Ben

Ben
“A capable and respectable warrior. Most of my interactions with him have been pleasant, but we had a rather heated disagreement during my time on White Squad. I'm still a bit hurt by his lack of willingness to listen to my perspective back then, but Ismene helped us work things out a little.”
Miss Aly
"An old ally back from my days in the Lordamere Covenant. She was an odd girl, certainly naïve, but sweet. Well… Alynnra is anyway. Watcher, Twilight, and whoever else I may be forgetting are a different story entirely… In any case, I pray she and Dusty are well."
Ralaea
“A fiery warrior with a weakness in grasping wordplay that can be rather amusing. I feel like I recognize her from somewhere, but I just can’t quite place it. She seems to recognize me, though and gets nervous when I'm around. She has been getting much better recently though.”
The Scarlet Commander
"The woman who stole the man I loved from me by tempting him back to the Scarlet Crusade. When I learned she became a death knight I was eager to take the opportunity to slay her myself this time."
Taeavon
"A lieutenant of mine in a temporary coalition of my Sentinel company and another of Silver Covenant rangers. He is honest, polite, and selfless all three almost to a fault. His skill with animals is unmatched among any I have ever met. He even managed to tame a silver dragonhawk! He was always willing to lend a sympathetic ear during my time in Northrend and he always knew just what to say. I'm grateful for his friendship."
Kalindra
"My temporary lieutenant while serving alongside the Silver Covenant in Northrend. I have seldom seen her equal with a blade and she is remarkably brave. With subordinates as dauntless as her, I feel as though I can face any adversary. I do miss her implacable blade. She was a sure ally in a fight."
Lena
“A warlock. She's a polite girl, but her dark magic earned her my suspicion while on White Squad which quickly soured my experience there. After bonding more with Nylarria I understand her position a bit better I think.”
Vice-Admiral Fallon
"He led the attack against the Scarlet Onslaught in Northrend. He was a capable commander. I have little knowledge of naval matters, but even I was able to tell that he is a nigh peerless sailor."
Chronormu
"The one who sent me on my mission all those years ago. I had nowhere else to turn, so who better to send? Azeroth is safe, but what do I have to show for it? Three lifetimes worth of lost friends? *Sigh* No… I will not sully their memories… I am grateful to have met all those I did in my time there."
Commander Oceansong
“My old commanding officer in the Sentinels. She is the one who allowed me to join as just a girl and gave me my old command. I thought she was doing it just out of pity or to keep me out of trouble, but she later revealed that she only wanted to help me grow and to try and bond with me. No one will ever be able to replace minn'da, but I'm glad that I know I'll always have her to turn to when I'm in need.”
Warden Oceansong
“My old commander’s sister and now my superior in the Watchers. I'm proud to have found a new calling through her and the Commander.”
