Appearance
Of middling-height for a gnome, though somewhat thinner than she ought to be: she has a chronically-underfed look. She attempts to confine her black hair in braided knots, but it is brittle and of uneven length, so bits of it are constantly escaping; they give her a bristling appearance, like a hedgehog or a particularly indignant bird. Her vividly green eyes are sharp and attentive, and her impish smile comes and goes in flashes like heat lightning. She wears eyeliner, in a single concession to (or effort at?) vanity; it isn't clear whether she was deliberately going for a smoky look or whether it's just really badly smudged. She has a single dimple in her left cheek.

Tibbiah is a problem-solver. (A surprising number of problems can be solved with explosives or blades.) She's outgoing and witty, though the twenty years she spent trapped at Honor Hold with the Sons of Lothar (and the continuous losses they suffered) have given her wit a mordant, graveyard twist; she often seems blithe or even callous about death and catastrophe.
She is big on nicknames and acronyms, and full of stubborn Gnomish pride, having spent the last twenty years mostly standing knee-high to The Bigs. Her time among the draenei and naaru have given her somewhat more respect and reverence for the Light than most of her people, although she often attempts to conceal it beneath a crisp layer of snark.
History
Tibbiah was born the daughter of Fibula Zipstich, a noted Gnomish physician. Her mother hoped that her bright, curious child would follow her into the medical profession, but from an early age young Tibbiah evinced more talent for destruction than reconstruction. She was fascinated by stories of her absent father — the notorious Gnomish adventurer and rogue Redd Pumpernickel — and in addition to her formal training as an explosives engineer, she took up swordplay and martial arts herself. When she reached adulthood, she took the surname Shinbreaker.
Tibbiah heeded the call to arms in the Second War and served in the successful defense of Gnomeregan against the orcish siege. When the human Alliance pursued the retreating horde south, Tibbiah struck out from her homeland in determined aid of the war effort.
When Ner'zhul reopened the Dark Portal, her loyalty to the Alliance generally and to Turalyon specifically made Tibbiah an enthusiastic volunteer as a sapper for the counter-invasion effort. She crossed to Draenor with the Sons of Lothar, and after Khadgar's sealing of the Portal, remained trapped on the shattered world with the other surviving remnants of the Sons.
