Appearance

Thalstan is a shockingly handsome young dwarf, with luxurious dark hair that flows over his well-muscled shoulders and back. He is just as well-endowed in the beard and mustache department, and his prominent nose gives him a profile to die for. The whole package is rounded out by deep blue eyes that can as easily channel the icy chill of Dun Morogh or the sun-kissed warmth of the lake in Loch Modan.

Personality

Decisive - Dramatic - Principled - Cooperative

Thalstan knows how to take charge in dangerous situations, even if he’s not the most experienced person in the room. He’s very team-focused, and always aims to bring the best out of his collaborators, whether in combat or in art. Reading copious adventure-romance stories has cultivated his flair for the dramatic, which can either be annoying or inspiring, given context. A lad of Ironforge, his ma and pa raised him right, to have a strong sense of what is and is not acceptable in love and in war.

Thalstan is attracted to female dwarves. He has a great appreciation for the female form, but is secretly something of a starry-eyed romantic. He can only be romanced seriously.

Thalstan is looking for his princess, the person he will love and cherish and protect above all others. He would be monogamous, loyal and dedicated, with perhaps a touch of jealousy or possessiveness if he ever feels insecure about their relationship. (Why would he? He's gorgeous!)

Thalstan is likely to be romantically attracted to people who are loyal, gentle, shy and nurturing. He is not likely to be romantically attracted to people who are crude, boisterous, or gleefully violent.

History

Thalstan is a young Bronzebeard dwarf of Ironforge, who was too little to take up arms during the major wars that have rocked Azeroth in the past few decades. His father was an Explorer’s League member, and he was tragically killed during the war in Silithus while researching the relics of Ahn’Qiraj. His mother, still living, works at an Ironforge pub called The Thirsty Dragon.

Thalstan’s early work was with his mother in the pub, until his good looks and well-toned physique scored him considerable work in the modeling department. His most well-known work, of which he is properly proud, is serving as a model for pulpy dwarvish romance novel covers. These sorts of novels would also be considered his guilty reading pleasure, except he doesn’t feel particularly guilty about them.

After his father’s recent death, he felt the call to adventure, to live up to the proud Stouthammer name. His first step was to take work as a Ironforge Guard. This may sound like a peaceful job, but he found the drama. Rookie Thalstan ended up taking charge in a crisis by the Deeprun Tram, defending the gnomes from a pack of giant, enraged rats. This is the incident that brought him to the attention of Elohad Ference, and resulted in his recruitment to the Cobalt Blade at the beginning of Wrath of the Lich King.

+ Wrath of the Lich King

Thalstan was the team leader for the Cobalt Blade, a team organized to see to more local concerns while much of the military and Cobalt Company were engaged in the campaign in Northrend. The teams early days involved traveling all over Kalimdor and the Eastern Kingdoms on the trail of a Twilight's Hammer world-ending plot involving a Seed of Eternal Endings. Near the end of this plot, Thalstan also answered the call to fight alongside Malfurion during the War Against the Nightmare, during which the Nightmare was defeated and pushed back into the depths of the Dream.

After the Twilight's Hammer plot was thwarted, the team handled a variety of high-profile jobs, primarily investigations into growing elemental unrest by Archmage Tervosh and Jaina Proudmoore's apprentice Kinndy Sparkshine in Theramore.

+ Cataclysm

After the Cataclysm, the Cobalt Blade continued to address work to address problems in the Eastern Kingdoms and Kalimdor. They defeated elemental creatures resummoned by Cho'gall, including Ghaz'rilla and Princess Theradras. They made common cause with the Dark Iron dwarves in the Searing Gorge against their kin who had fallen into the Twilight's Hammer and elemental worship. Next, they were sent into Blackrock Mountain on behalf of Moira Thaurissan, to clear the Dark Iron rebels from Shadowforge City and slay a firebrand rebel senator. This helped restore the reputation of Cobalt Company with Moira, since they had previously been involved in the misguided slaying of her husband, Emperor Dagran Thaurissan.

Then they headed to the Swamp of Sorrows to clear up a new Old God threat, and then to clear out trolls from the Sunken Temple who were up to their usual dragon-corrupting, evil-summoning ways. In the process, they rescued a green dragon egg, which was successfully hatched into a whelp named Berinus.

After this, they were sent into the Blackrock spires to investigate the theft of Nefarian and Onyxia's skulls, where they worked with the dragon Acridostrasz to uncover the reanimated Nefarian's new experiments. Thalstan went into the Blackwing Descent, together with Cobalt Company and the 7th Legion, to put a final end to him.

Now, they have been sent to Outland, to follow up troubling new activity in the demons and fel orcs of the ruined world.
