RP Hooks
- Old Elves: At 5000 years old, Roriandris has met a lot of night elves. They might not be friends but may at least be passing acquaintances.
- Mount Hyjal: Rori fought at Mount Hyjal and in the battles leading up to it, so veterans of the Third War may have encountered him.
- Mentoring Younger Elves: Part of Rori's time since the war has been spent mentoring younger elves who work with the Cenarion Circle.
- Post-war Alliance Expeditions: Rori has been a scout, guide, and advisor to Alliance military units, particularly in Kalimdor.
Appearance
Roriandris Gladewarden looks middle-aged for a night-elf, with ruddy, weathered skin and a wiry yet muscular build. He looks like he fits in better in the wilds than in "civilization." He speaks slowly and with an air of reserve. He sounds a bit like Walter Cronkite.
Personality
Experienced - Cautious - Curious - Steady
Roriandris prefers the wilds and while he likes people, he doesn't enjoy living in close quarters with many others. (Close quarters with a few is fine.) His five millennia of life have taught him to be cautious, but to accept change as the only universal constant. He is quiet and reserved compared to many, and sometimes overly formal in his speech. In combat or a crisis he is steady and dependable; he's seen a lot and understands there will almost be an afterwards to cope with.
History
Rori was born after the Sundering, about five millennia ago. He grew up in Ashenvale and witnessed first-hand the problems caused by Staghelm's illicit planting branches of Nordrassil. Ashenvale remained his nominal home but most of his life has been spent patrolling the verges of the night elf lands. He has answered the call to battle in the elves' wars since then.
He met his wife Emerette, a Sentinel, while guiding a party during the campaign to fell Andrassil in Northrend, about 4500 years ago. They were married soon after and remained a couple until her death at the Battle of Mount Hyjal.
Roriandris, too, fought at Mount Hyjal, and was part of the pursuit of the remnants of the Scourge forces. He only learned of Emerette's death after the battle.
Since Hyjal and the forming of the Alliance, Rori has acted as a guide and advisor to Alliance forces operating in the parts of Kalimdor he knows well, and as a scout and skirmisher in other places.
He disdains the politics and infighting of Darnassus, but holds Staghelm in particular contempt. He works to aid the druids of the Cenarion Circle who do the actual work.
