  • Artist: Ozmatoz is the one responsible for most of the visual design of Cobalt Company posters, documentation, and company sigil. Cobalt keeps her pretty busy, but her talents are for hire.

Appearance

Ozmatoz is somewhat tall as gnomes go; a fact hardly noticeable to most other races. She's got the kind of mild chubbiness that comes with a sedentary lifestyle. She wears her dark brown hair long and swept away from her face, revealing her hazel eyes.

Personality

Creative ⬥ Helpful ⬥ Meticulous ⬥ Apprehensive

Creativity is at the core of who Ozmatoz is. She's an artist; even when helping her fellow gnomes develop schematics and reports, her primary focus is bringing them to life through artistic expression. Helping others gives her a sense of deep satisfaction, and she can never turn down a request for help.

Ozmatoz is extremely detail-oriented and fastidious in her work. A bit of a perfectionist, she never feels any project is actually finished, but sometimes deadlines must be met.

She is a worrier. Anxiety eats at her, and she always imagines the worst possible outcome of every act and interaction. Even when she is proven wrong, she'll still fuss over how it could have gone bad. She is especially apprehensive about what people think of her, and is always very particular about what she says and how she says it.

History

Ozmatoz Flickbristle grew up in Gnomeregan like any typical gnome. She was never especially mechanically-inclined. She understood the basics well enough, but machines didn't speak to her like they did so many of her kind. For her, it was art that filled her spirit. She was almost never seen without a sketchbook, drawing everything from the people on the tram to landscapes to fantastical designs for impossible devices (which some other gnome would often make quite possible). Even the magic she studied was focused mainly on artistic applications.

Ozma made her living by hiring out her talents to other gnomes and, eventually, dwarves and other races. She was skilled at drawing schematics and putting data together in interesting and comprehensible ways. She would apply her sense of graphic design to making such documents and reports more palatable and pleasant to look at. She also made posters for special events, announcements, et cetera. She would take just about any job that allowed her to apply art and design to make the world more interesting.

She eventually caught the attention of Sir Elohad Ference, who was putting together an upstart mercenary group called Cobalt Company. When he needed to advertise, create company documents, or even see his vision for the company sigil come to life, it was Ozmatoz he called upon.

Ozzy was happy living behind the scenes, seeing how her designs were helping the members of Cobalt Company rise to become great heroes. It was enough…until the world ended. With the Shattering came a sense that she was no longer doing enough. Azeroth needed everyone to step up. Ozmatoz could no longer be a voice behind the heroes; she had to become one.

Relationships

Sir Elohad Ference
In the aftermath of the liberation of Gnomeregan in the Second War, Ozmatoz took out her sketchbook to commemorate the event and calm herself. She spotted a human knight jovially interacting with a gnome family, and it struck her as an interesting moment in time. When the human noticed her watching him, he came to see her art and was duly impressed. Some years later, that human called on Ozzy's talents to design a sigil and create necessary materials as he formed the brand new Cobalt Company.
