RP Hooks
- Gilnean Poor - Did you scrounge for scraps in the trash bins of Gilneas City? Why, you might be a regular social acquaintance of Ms. Boles.
- Gilnean Law - When people in Gilneas City do crimes, do you tend to get involved somehow? You have probably had a run-in or two with Ms. Boles.
- Harvest Witch - Do you help bring in the crops every year with your slightly spoopy nature magic? Then maybe you were part of the community that took Ozzy in at age 13.
Appearance
Oslynn has wavy, unruly blonde hair, fair skin, and gray-green eyes. Perhaps because her coloration was a source of strife in her family, she is almost always somewhat darkened with grime. Or maybe she's just a slob. She would probably clean up well: she has full lips, expressive brows, and a shapely nose. But this is only theoretical, as she never cleans up.
She is thick-boned in a way that would suggest peasant stock no matter how she was groomed, and also a bit on the tall side, but despite her solid bone structure she was not born with any particular physical prowess; on the contrary in her natural form she overheats easily, stumbles over uneven pavement, gets sick often, and is otherwise the kind of person who would have low physical scores across the board on a character sheet.
Luckily, these days she has an assortment of forms to choose from. And most of them could kick your ass.
Personality
Sly • Enthusiastic • Unruly • Vulnerable
Oz is often such a whirlwind of chaotic energy and mischief that it would be easy not to notice how desperately she craves stability and belonging. She started getting into trouble with the law at the age of eight, and at twenty-two she is still something of a troublemaker. But she doesn't really seek out chaos. She's just a magnet for it.
The best way to keep her out of trouble is to give her something interesting to do or think about; she has a voracious appetite for entertainments both new and familiar. If she gets bored though… watch out.
Her sense of humor is wicked and surprisingly subtle at times, given what a bull in a china shop she is in other ways. She enjoys conversation, though she is not always skilled at it, and if you can get past her gutter-urchin accent and occasional lapses in social skills, she can be a fun person to spend time with. Just don't get too attached to your glass knickknacks. Or your dignity.
This character can be romanced.
History
Oslynn's mother died giving birth to her, leaving her shoemaker father with two daughters in nappies to care for on his own. He had never been all that excited about fatherhood to begin with, and doing it on his own proved too much for him. His business struggled, his temper frayed, and Oslynn was the butt of said temper more often than not.
Not because she was any more difficult than her sister - of the two of them she was downright meek and mild-mannered - but because in the Boles family she stood out like a canary in a flock of crows. Both her parents had been dark haired and different shades of brown in complexion. Her older sister, too, had tan skin and jet-black hair. Without her mother alive to protest fidelity, or a pedigree analyst to explain recessive traits to her thick-headed father, Oslynn was presumed to be living proof of infidelity.
When she was thirteen, her sister Keiley intervened in a physical altercation between Oz and her father, trying to protect her little sister by hitting her father in the back of the head with a frying pan. The results were gory and traumatizing, and the man appeared to be stone dead. Keiley bolted from the scene of the crime and was never seen again.
Basil Boles was not, however, dead, and when he eventually (mostly) recovered, he swore revenge on Keiley and took off to find her, without a thought for Oslynn's fate. There are only three reasons that Oslynn is still alive:
1) A constable named Gabriella who investigated her father's disappearance and helped Oslynn look for a living situation
2) A local coven of harvest witches who took her in and taught her their magics (or tried)
3) Merelda Veyne, a noblewoman who tracked Oz down and told her that a certain foreign nobleman had taken interest in her welfare, and who began doling out money to her regularly for food, clothing, and basic education.
Most people assumed that this nobleman was probably Oslynn's "real" father. Oslynn herself liked to fantasize that she was secretly a princess. In truth, the nobleman was Count Zath Tyrrell, a captain of the 7th Legion who was of no relation to her whatsoever. Big sister Keiley, uknown to Oslynn, had joined his unit, and Captain Tyrrell made sure his unit's families were always taken care of. Even if he had to go around reefs, a wall, several laws, and basic common sense to do so.
Relationships
Lord Graves Pack leader. Unquestioned boss. Greatest man in the world.
Merelda Veyne Acts like she thinks she's Ozzy's mom. At least she's a nice mom. Worries too much though.
Gabriella Forne Law lady. Always trying to boss Ozzy around, and doesn't laugh nearly enough.
Faniel Sweet, gentle boy. Nobody better hurt him.
Apricity Hearthleigh / Piper Sometimes people get annoyed at him instead of Ozzy, which is nice.
Kenelly Ashewood / Kenelly Fellow harvest witch, always real nice and friendly. Organizing stuff to help worgen, which is nice.
Anselyn Pearson / Anselyn Head in the clouds type. Talks about funny things sometimes, in a funny way, but interesting.
Yseulde Pearson / Yseulde Anselyn's older sister. Good hunter, seems sharp.
