RP Hooks

  • Wildhammer Clan: Pretty much any Wildhammer would at least know OF her. She's been raising gryphons for them for nearly two and a half centuries, and she's had kids with at least half a dozen different men.
  • Warrior Trainer: Lireen trains warriors for Cobalt Company, so any young green warrior types are welcome to come to her to learn!

Appearance

Lireen was clearly a beauty once, but she has matured into "handsome." Though her face is relatively unlined, her hair has gone almost completely gray, with only a few streaks left of brassy chestnut. She has the typical tan complexion of her Wildhammer kin, with a few freckles scattered beneath her eyes and a single piercing in her nose. Most of her tattoos are visible only at the edges, peeking out from under her armor.

Personality

Autonomous • Matriarchal • Courageous • Tranquil

Lireen goes her own way, and makes her own decisions. She's a founder type, an unofficial leader, and as self-directed as they come. If you happen to be walking the same path and fighting for the same cause, she's happy to have you along, but do expect to get bossed now and then, gently or otherwise. If she agrees with your laws, she will follow them. If not, welp.

As a warrior she appears fearless, but it isn't recklessness at all - it's a combination of hard-earned wisdom and a deep-seated tranquility that she has possessed all her life. She's well aware that she might die, but she trusts in her skills and also trusts that even if she does die, it'll be all right. In some ways she's the opposite of a berserker - her almost monk-like skill in battle comes not from rage, but from inner peace and clarity and the desire to protect and care for her "flock."

When the battle is over, she's happy to just sit and re-braid your hair for you and look at the stars in silence.

This character is romanceable.

History

Lireen grew up in Ironforge when it was still the home of all three major dwarven clans. As an orphan looked after by a distant cousin who worked as a gryphon master, Lireen grew up a gentle, softspoken girl, but when war broke out over control of the city she mounted a gryphon and fought for her clan. Her people were ousted and started again in Grim Batol.

Once again Lireen lived a peaceful life tending her flock, until the Dark Irons attacked, and once again without permission she joined the fight. And once again the Wildhammers were driven away to found a new city.

For the rest of her life Lireen split her time between raising gryphons, raising children, pitching in during wars, and teaching young warriors the ways of aerial combat, until one day she saved an endangered Bronzebeard lass named Oranna whose tales of Ironforge made her heartsick with longing for the place of her birth…

Relationships

Maisha
One of Lireen's younger children. Lireen is proud of her, and most of all proud of her decision to make her own independent mark on the world.
Oranna
Lireen swooped in to save Oranna in the Hinterlands at a crucial moment, and this crossing of paths helped bend both of their paths in a new direction.
Thalstan
Lireen trained him to prepare him for his duties with the Cobalt Blade, and thinks highly of his skills and temperament.
Niksi
A peculiar undersea-exploring gnome that Lireen met one day in Cobalt HQ. She had a floating fish and a can-do attitude.
