RP Hooks

  • Taunka: Cousin of the Tauren, and culturally different, Jaiarah is not like the more common Taurens of the Horde. They both have much to learn from each other.
  • Sunwalker: Jaiarah is an apprentice Sunwalker. Those who use holy magic are fascinating to her, and she wishes to become better at it. However, she's currently struggling, having a hard time working with the Light of An'she without forcefully using it, like Taunka shamans use the elements.
  • Loyal to the Horde: Without them, she would be dead. Her allegiance is to the Horde, and she's willing to do anything to stop its enemies.

Appearance

Jaiarah is perfectly suited for the cold weather of Northrend. Her white fur is long, dense. Her light brown mane is neatly tied into ponytails to keep it off of her face. Long dark horns sprout on each side of her face, one of them, the left one, slightly chipped at its point. Her bison-like face is stern and serious.

Jaiarah is muscular, having clearly been trained as a warrior. A deep scar runs from her chest to her left shoulder, a reminder of the traumatic death she went through in Icemist Village.

Personality

Impassive ⬥ Exacting ⬥ Celebratory ⬥ Indefatigable

Jaiarah had a rough life in a land full of danger. She knew that in Northrend, you could never truly stop to take a pause. She became hard-working, relentlessly building her skills to become better and better. If she didn't, she would feel like a burden for her tribe, and she couldn't have that. That is also how she sees the rest of the world. Those who are not putting the effort into improving themselves to make a better world are unworthy of her attention.

Most of the time, however, Jaiarah hides what she feels, preferring not to make waves around her. She speaks in short sentences, and without flourish. Feelings and words, take away some precious minutes that could be used to become stronger.

Nevertheless, Jaiarah loves a good party or ritual (or both). She loves to dance, play music and isn't against the occasional drink. She understands the importance of celebrating and gratefully appreciates its effects on people's morale. She knows, however, that risks and threats aren't waiting for the party to be over, and expects from herself and others that they'll be able to fight during and after the party, if fate decides it must be so.

History

Jaiarah was born in Icemist Village, in the freezing regions of Northrend. For almost as long as she can remember, the threat of the Scourge was slowly rising from the ground to destroy her land. One more threat posed to the Icemist Tribe in the unhospitable Northrend.

Jaiarah, like many others, was trained to survive. She learned to use weapons, to explore the wilderness, to hunt, to gather food, and to hide when the time called for it. She lived a harsh life, that was only getting worse with every year.

It wasn't all bleak, though. The rituals and parties her people would partake in were a highlight of her life. Moments of respite in the warmth of their campfires' flames.

It was during one of these parties that Jaiarah was betrothed to another member of her tribe, Tanuhi. A ceremony to officialize this decision soon came to be.

Jaiarah's husband rivaled her in strength, but he was a shaman, bending the unforgiving elements to his will. Jaiarah had a deep respect and admiration for his talents.

Less than a year after their wedding, however, Icemist Village fell under the attacks of the Scourge. Perhaps Jaiarah should have used her hiding skills, but as many others did, she and her husband took their weapons and threw themselves at the invaders.

Her might proved insufficient in the face of the undead nerubian relentless attacks. One of these beast's claws shattered her hastily put-on armor and stabbed her from her shoulder to her heart, killing her instantly.

In what felt like an instant to her, the Horde arrived and freed Roanauk Icemist who, in turn, called upon the tribe's ancestor to bring brethren back to life. Jaiarah was one of them. Once again, she rose and took up arms against the Scourge. Tanuhi, however, didn't come back from the spirit world.

Impressed by the Blood Elves use of martial weapons and Light magic, Jaiarah decided to join the other Taunka and swore an oath to the Horde. Once she learned that her Tauren cousins started worshipping An'she once again, she decided to leave Northrend and join them in Kalimdor, wishing to learn their ways.
