Anyone from Southshore would know the Callis family and their famous cider. It would be difficult to see how anyone would LIKE her parents, but Ismene herself is mostly known around there as "that poor Callis girl" with the browbeating mother and the distant, cold father.
Anyone can have been part of the rescue operation that drove the Horde back from their foray into Southshore, joining Casker John and Velrin.
Also, if someone trained at Northshire Abbey while she was there, they might know her.
Appearance
Ismene is a human girl in her early 20s, 5'4" and slender, almost waifish. She has baby-fine brown hair that's parted in the middle and cut into a neat bob at her jaw, and big brown doe-eyes.

Tattoo. A stylized tower, smallish (about 6" total) starting between her shoulder blades down her spine.

Personality
Compassionate - Stubborn - Shy - Optimistic
Ismene is a healer, and has been long before she had any power to do so. She wants to fix everything, make everyone happy, make everything better. Having grown up with very strict parents, she also abides by rules of high society though she is not a member of it. Given their vast land holdings, her family feels they should already be ennobled and rather resent that they are not. They have raised Ismene to expect that the family will be and therefore she should behave accordingly. They were not warm, loving parents. Despite this, Ismene is sweet, caring, and likes everyone by default.
This character is in a committed relationship and is not available for outside romance.
History
Ismene Hazan, née Callis, grew up just outside of Southshore in Hillsbrad. Her family owns several apple orchards in the area, some non-contiguous. The town of Southshore and the farms of Hillsbrad are always under constant Horde attack, usually in ones or twos. Recently, however, a concerted attack took the town by surprise. Casualties were heavy and the town would've been a total loss had a group of Alliance adventurers arrived. They routed the Horde and began helping with the aftermath. Ismene saw a Priest moving through the battlefield, healing people she was sure would die. Instantly in awe of his presence and his abilities, she begged to learn how to do what he did.
Her parents protested immediately and vigorously, but the priest overruled them and sent Ismene off to Northshire Abbey to train, giving her some funds to tide her over. Her first duty at the abbey was to kill wolves and Kobolds, a fact which depressed her greatly. She made her way to Ironforge where she met Sir Elohad and expressed to him her desire to help, not kill helpless creatures with a hammer. He took her in, and she began working as a healer for Cobalt Company and eventually as Elohad's assistant, a position that continued when Jocoza Sparkwire took over leadership.
While temporarily living at CCHQ, Ismene met Ben Hazan who (along with another young lady, Ginny) also lived at HQ. She was instantly smitten with his charming crooked smile, his big brown puppy eyes, and his careful country manners. They also bonded over a mutual dislike of the prickly and irritable Ginny. Ben, Ismene, and Silvestre Silentstep became adventuring partners, leading to a growing closeness between Ben and Ismene. They agreed to put off anything more serious than "walking out" until he could ask her parents' permission, but they fell deeper in love and in November, six months after meeting, the two eloped and were secretly wed in Ironforge with Silvestre as the sole attendant.
After her father died, Mizzy inherited the orchards and began spending more time at Southshore overseeing the operation. Her mother was moved to an apartment in Stormwind, much to the delight of the Barnsbys who ran the Callis household. Even the groom, Chester, was relieved. After Ben "acquired" the deed to some neighboring land, Ismene and Ben set up a farmstead, bringing farmers in from Westfall and from Ference land in Darkshire. The plan was to raise pear trees to complement the apple orchards, focusing on pear brandy. One of the farmers, Walton, proved to be an absolute genius at organization and planning, and was promoted to seneschal of the pear orchards.
When the Forsaken invaded and destroyed the land, most of the people she knew and grew up with were lost. She has secretly been back to see what happened to her land, and has never quite recovered from it. Between that and the death of her mother when the Park was destroyed, Ismene has lost some of her happy outlook and tends to be even quieter than before.
Relationships
Ben Hazan Husband. Ben, in Mizzy's eyes, can do no wrong. If you want to get in good with Mizzy, tell her that you like Ben.
Colson Aspenwood A proper friend for Ben, and a good husband for Mordecai. Mizzy admires his reserve and takes it as a sign of his excellent upbringing. She never finds him cold or aloof, and likes him quite a bit.
Cressidha Aspenwood Went to her once for advice on an extremely sensitive matter. Now loves her. Big sister. Cressidha may be unaware of this entirely.
Mordecai Aspenwood Fellow healer, and someone Mizzy would not hesitate to turn to at need. She remains, being Mizzy, unsure of the level of their friendship and wistfully wishes it could be closer. She's just not sure how to go about it.
Halliday Bristow Friend! Another friend! Mizzy vaguely knew Halliday from Southshore, though she was more familiar with Merchant Bristow. The Callis family would not only patronize the Bristow store, they also shipped their cider with them. Mizzy will take every opportunity to point out that Halliday is her friend. Because she has another one now.
Lord Siamus Fallon She doesn't know Siamus well, but he's Lord Fallon to her. Deathly afraid of giving him bad news or offending him in the slightest.
Lady Sintha Fallon Sintha terrifies Mizzy. She's noble, her family owns the land the orchards are on, and she's a focused force of nature. Ismene gets along with her by leaning hard on her upbringing and maintaining a Pleasant demeanor.
Lord Sir Elohad Ference She was his assistant when he was Captain of Cobalt Company. She adores him, and has since he dried her tears and gave her an apple, then gave her a place to belong where she could follow her heart.
Niris Ference Niris could easily have become a surrogate mother for Ismene, but she feels too much of a kinship for Niris, likely because they're both healers. Niris is an invaluable source of information, though. Her books are especially enlightening.
Estel Herald Another healer-friend. Mizzy likes Estel for her basic good nature and her easy-going ways. Feels kinda bad foisting the twins off on her, though. Sorry 'bout that.
Silvestre M. Silentstep One of her best friends and questing partners. She would do anything for Sil. Sil was the Best Man of Honor (and only non-priest witness) to Ben & Mizzy's elopment.
Velrin Silverbloom Velrin was one of the heroes to ride to the rescue of Southshore while Mizzy was there, leading directly to Mizzy becoming a priestess and everything that's gone right with her life since. Mizzy is very interested in helping to balance the scales between them, and is always happy when she can be of service to Velrin.
Jocoza Sparkwire The current co-captain of Cobalt Company and Mizzy's boss. Mizzy is quite fond of Jocoza but is mindful of the separation that must exist between employer and employee. She is impressed by Jo's work ethic and soothing demeanor.
Pets
Abbey Abbey is a plucky little mare, well-trained and willing to dare anything. She got her name because one of the splotches on her chest resembles the outline of the Northshire Abbey. She is stabled out near Redridge when she proved unhappy with living in Outland.
Runaway Runaway earns the name daily. A fast but skittish mare who does best at a full gallop and has the stamina to keep it up, too.
Cirrus Cirrus is quite small for a gryphon and snowy white. There was some concern about using resources to keep a gryphon who wasn't really suited to flying into battle with heavily armored dwarves aboard, but he proved so scrappy that he was kept. He is competitive and daring, and his smaller size means he can perform feats in the air that larger gryphons cannot.
Hattie Hattie is a very small young cat with the temperament of a very large…white cat. She has far too much energy and regards people as her rightful prey.
Mariestraza, formerly Burble, formerly Melody (work in progress) The hatchling is a bright and curious thing, prone to getting into trouble but quite adept at getting out of it, too. She prefers to hide around Mizzy's neck and under her hair. At home, Hattie is her favorite playmate.
