A small group of well-born children all fostered together in Stromgarde and guarded as valued heirs and possible diplomatic hostages were woken in the middle of the night and sent south to Stormwind, thanks to a timely bit of intelligence during the splintering of the Alliance that would have put many of the children in danger, might have known Zepherine Kerwyn. They were taken south to Stormwind City and continued their fostering there while their parents fought valiantly and negotiated as much cooperation as possible to preserve the Alliance after Stromgarde and Gilneas broke away, and ferreting out spies became a quiet, bloody fashion.
Anyone who studied in Stormwind Cathedral after the scourging of Lordaeron to the present day may have met Ionala.
Anyone who had any business that took them to Lordaeron for long bickering affairs of diplomacy from years 16-20 may wonder why she looks so familiar, as she strongly resembles her mother, Dame Melisande Kerwyn, linguist, translator, and diplomat, and her father, Sir Dabryn Kerwyn of the Knights of the Silver Hand.
Anyone who routinely visits an empty shop repurposed as a free library, where people drop off and pick up used books on a loose honor system basis might have seen Ionala there.
Anyone who prowls estate sales and liquidation sales for bargain jewelery, fabric, and small decoration pieces might have met her there.
Appearance
Ionala Webster is a well dressed novice of the light. She keeps her long blonde hair in a bun and keeps a tidy appearance, but the trained eye knows fine tailoring and enchantments worn with pride. She is pretty, but eschews makeup and ornament for everyday wear.
Personality
Ionala has a very placid demeanor, all gentle smiles and polite deflections. She doesn't give up a lot of information, lengthening the time it takes to get to know her. But she loves connecting the dots on a mystery, and is the first one to go information gathering if she smells a hidden motivation or secret that covers a threat. Nala doesn't like it when the people around her are unhappy, and she will try to fix it.
She also goes a bit silly when strange good looking men are around.
Ionala is romanceable. But
Ionala is romanceable.
She grew up on romance novels, though, and so she's set on the hair raising adventures and dizzying experiences. She fully expects the moment where she gazes into their lovely eyes and the world fades and then when they kiss it trembles and spins and does the sorts of things earths do when you should be finding somewhere safe to hide instead of kissing someone.
Gosh.
History
Zephyrine remembers the heavily-guarded journey out of the Arathi highlands with the other fosters. She didn't know why, but now guesses that she and the other children were in danger as a result of political strife around Stromgarde and Gilneas's desire to leave the Alliance.
She remembers her friend Maurana's father's fine house where her fosterage continued, the empty halls, and the stern, unyielding servants who hated her questions. She remembers the conversations that went silent when she walked into the room, asking where was her father when her mother, doing her best to negotiate between Stromgarde, Gilneas, and Lordaeron, fell in the terrible slaughter after Arthas' murder of King Terenas, and where was Sir Dabren now?
A month after no letters came in reply to those questions, Zephyrine's clothing came to her previously worn, with only scraps of meat on her plate for dinner. Her room was needed for a guest—when they left, Zephyrine was not moved back. When she was denied entrance to learn with the tutor for the other children, Maurana's requests to a friend became thankless order. Zephyrine took a donation basket to Stormwind Cathedral, and paid an orphan to deliver the empty basket back. She signed her name as Ionala Webster when she became a novice, and never mentioned Kerwyn again.
She was attempting to practice her powers in combat when she met Mayellen Mulby, and became close friends with her, forming a tight group of friendship with Jonas Hazan, Annibeth Jansen, and Maisha Cloudskimmer
