• Venerable: She may not seem it at first, but Imrolane is very, very old. She no longer uses her original name, and she looks and behaves very differently; but there may still be those from the old days that could recognize her as Veilanda Starwander.
• Pariah: Any kaldorei that was heavily involved in the War of the Satyr could know of her connections and why she is not a revered archdruid, despite her age and power.

Appearance

Short as kaldorei women go, and made shorter still with her typically hunched, coiled posture…assuming she is standing at all. More often than not, if Imrolane is in her lithe elven form, she is still low to the ground, sitting, or on all fours.

Her skin is pale white, and her wild hair is whiter still, usually with stray leaves and bits of grass in it. Tufts of fur-like hair gather along the sides of her face by her ears. The fang-like canines shared by all night elves are especially prominent, and even her lower canines are impressively long and sharp.

Even in her animal forms, she bears a strong lupine inclination, such as longer snouts, large worg-like lower canines, and even her calls tend to sound more wolfen than they should. They also all bear her distinctive, pale white coloring.

Personality

Feral to the core. Imrolane prefers her animal forms. Very much a creature of instinct, she can be very sweet and affectionate, but is quick to anger and resort to threats and violence if she senses danger.

Despite her bestial nature, there is a keen mind behind her wild eyes. Though she usually chooses to keep her thoughts private, she will speak if she has something important to say, or among those who have earned her trust. When she does talk, she almost never speaks in the past tense, are rarely in the future tense. It can make conversations with her a touch confusing.

Imrolane is available for romance. She is fine with casual sex and is very physically affectionate with people she trusts. However, trust does not come easily to her.

Imrolane is probably incapable of maintaining a long-term relationship with anyone, with one possible exception. In all her thousands of years, she has never found her shalan (as far as she knows). That person (if they still live) is the one she could develop romantic feelings for. That said, she is still unlikely to be monogamous, her spirit being too wild and her need for physical touch too strong.

History

Imrolane Palemoon was once known as Veilanda Starwander, a Highborne elf without much talent for arcane magic, which made her something of a social outcast among her family, who were known for being talented mages. Her pariah status made the city feel unwelcoming, and she found herself drawn to nature, spending more and more time in the wilds of Val'sharah where she learned valuable survival skills. During the War of the Ancients she became a guide and caretaker, leading refugees away from the fighting to safe havens in the forest where she could guard over them. Her actions during the war brought her to the attention of Cenarius and Malfurion Stormrage, and after the Sundering she found her place as one of the first generation of Stormrage's druids (in the days before females were banned from the practice).

Druidism was a philosophical pursuit for her, always seeking to improve herself and overcome whatever deficiency had so hindered her early in life. Initially she was dedicated to the path of Balance, and it was at this time that she took in her own thero'shan, the young Caspis, helping the wild child find his own balance.

How ironic that her choices would lead her far astray from the path of Balance and into the chaos of feral savagery, leaving scars that still haunt her to this day.

The pack form's strength and savagery were breathtaking and devastating

Veilanda was always experimenting and testing the limits of druidism and gravitated toward other druids that did the same. Many centuries after the War of the Ancients, she had become close with a passionate druid known as Ralaar Fangfire and a group calling themselves the Druids of the Pack. She was drawn to their philosophy of a tight community, a family in which one was never alone and the strength of the pack was greater than the sum of its members. They were exploring the pack form — a powerful form that tapped into savagery and rage of the Wolf Ancient, Goldrinn. The pack form was mighty, and it was thrilling…but it was proving impossible to control, those assuming it often turning violently against allies and sometimes becoming trapped, unable to resume their elven bodies…or minds.

The pack form's savage purity was intoxicating, and even Veilanda's dedication to the path of Balance could not save her from a rapid descent into a feral state. Ironically, her salvation came from one of the kaldorei's most hated nemeses: the satyr. In the early days of the Way of the Satyr, the Druids of the Pack had largely been scattered, killed, or lost in the Pack Form and held captive as their fellow druids tried to help them. Veilanda was believed to be among the dead, but in reality had been captured by the satyr army. Realizing her age and relative proximity to Malfurion Stormrage and other key figures of the kaldorei forces, the satyr kept her alive, torturing her for information and entertainment.

Though her captivity was a personal hell that left scars Veilanda still carries to this day, it spared her from the path that led Ralaar and the rest of her brothers to becoming the monsters known as the worgen. It was only after their transformation, while the kaldorei now fought a war on two fronts against satyr and worgen alike, that the Druids of the Claw discovered Veilanda still lived and staged a rescue mission led by none other than her old thero'shan, Caspis Silvershade.

Veilanda returned a broken, feral thing. Caspis never gave up on her, dedicating years to guiding her back from the dark place she had fallen to and inducting her into the newly formed Cenarion Circle. Her experiences with the pack form had taken their toll, however, as had her treatment at the hands of the satyr. She was unable to achieve the balance she one possessed, and after seeing what her former brothers had become, she was overwhelmed with guilt. Try as she might to reintegrate into kaldorei society, she felt the cautious stares of her people weighing down on her, and few wanted to risk being near her for fear of the monster that might be lurking inside her.

She retreated once again to the wilds of Val'sharah and solitude, leaving behind her old life, even her name. She became nobody. But even in her solitude, she found no peace. Left alone with her thoughts, the guilt and pain overwhelmed her, and she found herself tempted by the Pack Form again. So she came before Malfurion Stormrage, begging him to send her to the sacred tree, Daral'nir, to slumber in exile with her brothers.

Malfurion refused her, but he offered an alternative. He believed what she needed was not exile, but purpose. He did send her to Daral'nir, not to rest with the worgen, but to stand watch over them. He charged her with the guardianship of their safety and the secrecy of their location, so that no one would ever awaken them. She accepted the task readily. At last, a chance at redemption.

Through the millennia, she has watched over her former brothers, one of the mere handful of kaldorei to know the location of Daral'nir, where she spends the majority of her time. When she does emerge from the Emerald Dream, she rarely interacts much with other night elves, despite even taking on a new name: Imrolane, in honor of a childhood friend that died in the War of the Ancients. The one person she always makes certain to visit, though, is her old thero'shan, Caspis. He alone never judged her or made her feel like a failure.

Recently, many of the worgen in Imrolane's care have mysteriously gone missing. Knowing how dire this situation could be, she has returned to Azeroth to investigate, seeking out the Scythe of Elune, only to find it is not where it should be. She now follows rumors of the Scythe being sighted and appearances of savage "wolf-men". With tales of the silithid returning as well, she fears a repeat of the War of the Satyr, fighting two fronts with the worgen at their backs.

Anareline Evensong Shalan to Caspis. She is good for him. The strength of their bond will unbalance him. Shake him. Force him to question and find new balance. This is good.

Dane	Dane One of the only humans Imrolane can tell apart from others. She recognizes a fierceness in him under the surface; it's something she can relate to.

Ozzy	Ozzy Imrolane has taken Ozzy on as her first thero'shan since Caspis. The girl's wild nature is something Imrolane can relate to and connect with.

Companions

Uru While battling a worgen cult in Northrend, Imrolane and Anareline slew an unnaturally huge worg. Only after did they realize she had a pup. That little worg cub recognized something wolfish in Imrolane, and she adopted the little creature. She calls him Uru…which means "howl" in Darnassian.
