RP Hooks

  • Scarlet Crusade: Anyone who was a member of the Scarlet Crusade early in its founding should talk to me about a possible connection.
  • Lordaeron Nobility: Those formerly active in the society of Lordaeron's nobility might know Fionette, or at least her family.
  • Alchemy: Fionette's family was a major player in the alchemy business before the third war.
  • Ebon Blade: Her new family.

Appearance

In life she was tall, broad-shouldered, and muscular, with blue eyes under thick black brows, fair skin, freckles, a strong jaw and thick straight black hair. Her rare smiles made her look the friendly girl next door, but most of the time she gave off a stormy, sullen vibe. Her accent and something in her carriage was all that remained of her days as a daughter of Lordaeron nobility.

Now her height and solid frame add to the looming, threatening quality of her undead presence. She looks much as she did in life, only absent the freckles, and with the blue of her eyes a luminous ghost of what it was. A peculiarity about her is that despite her saronite plate armor, her feet are usually simply wrapped from ball to heel in leather, with her pale toes visible.

Personality

Grateful - Guarded - Sadistic - Obedient

"If I knew one good thing about myself I would protect it like a candle flame in a storm."

In life, young Fi was a bit of a misfit given to hero worship, and the scars from those who let her down were slow to heal, if at all. She was essentially a walking wound looking for a healer, but she was also deeply concerned with doing the Right Thing, and was not bound in that quest by any rules beyond those her heart (or latest hero) laid down.

The circumstances of her death and resurrection shattered her soul, reversing her personality in every way. The free spirit became a creature of slavish obedience, the impressionable girl became guarded, the virtuous paladin became a dark knight who thrived on draining the blood and life force of the living. Ironically, her worst trait also reversed and became her saving grace: she knows that a miracle occured at Light's Hope and has freed her to choose whom to serve - and she has dropped all resentments.

Her transformation has severed the shackles of her life's disappointments and left her with a deep sense of gratitude and a determination not to waste the chance she has been given to remain an actor in the world's important conflicts. A ghost of a memory has led her to follow the people who can feel the proper things she no longer can, and to stubbornly abide by their codes.

This character is romanceable but uhhhhhhh.

History

Fionette (pronounced fee-uh-NET) was the youngest child of Sebastien Crawford, who was heir to Uriel Crawford, a social-climbing alchemist, proprietor of Crawford Alchemical Solutions. Through many generations of interbreeding with various noble families, the Crawfords earned themselves a place in Lordaeron's House of Nobles and set out to prove themselves More Noble Than All Of You.

Fionette was mostly considered the disappointing second-choice marriage option of the Crawford Sisters until the lot of them got wiped out by the Scourge. Eighteen-year-old Fionette spent some time wandering half-starved through plagued wilderness until she stumbled on an errant Kirin Tor elf who haughtily booted her through a portal to Stormwind where he felt people like her belonged. She became a refugee at the Abbey, then a Silver Hand trainee.

A bitter disagreement with her beloved mentor Sevastyn Black drove her to flee the Argent Dawn, and she ended up fighting alone in the plaguelands and dying recklessly, only to be raised by the Lich King as a death knight. Since then she has done her best to be loyal to the Ebon Blade. With the death of the Lich King, she found herself, for the first time in a long time, uncertain of what to do next.

Following her memories of what she once believed, she returned to her old mentor Sevastyn Black and promised herself to the Argent Crusade.

Relationships

Sevastyn Black
Fi's mentor, and one of the few people she trusted completely and unquestioningly in life. Her love for him was entirely platonic, but fierce and at times almost mindless in its devotion.
Kit DuLac
They were courting. Kit tried her best, but Fionette was too broken to open her heart fully.
Colson Aspenwood
A friend and a source of constant angst in life, due to her unrequited attraction to him and his marriage to another.
