RP Hooks

  • Gilnean Aristocrat: While of common blood, the Reeve family was very wealthy and well respected in Gilnean society both for their lucrative trade enterprise as well as the number of skilled naval officers it produced. Anyone familiar with the goings on of the Gilnean aristocracy may know of Eulysses or his family.
  • Second War Philanthropy: The Reeve family were staunch supporters of the Alliance and were eager to offer aid even when Greymane was not. People from the other human kingdoms, especially Lordaeron, may have benefited from aid sent by the Reeves or brought to them from another on one of their ships.
  • Rebel Officer: He was a marine captain in the Gilnean rebel navy before being captured and turned. To other Gilneans he could be either a hero or a villain depending on where their allegiances lay at the time.
  • Maritime Family: The Reeve family owned a sizable fleet of ships which they used to transport goods between Kul Tiras and the continent. Their business was very successful and they were quite wealthy. However, in the wake of the Forsaken invasion, these assets have been considerably diminished.

Appearance

Eulysses is a ruggedly handsome, if rather plain, looking man, with medium length light brown hair and a fashionably trimmed beard. He is of average height and build, but is fit from his extensive training and military service.

While his human form looks rather mundane, his worgen form is quite impressive. He stands nearly eight feet tall when standing fully upright and is covered in a thick coat of grey fur. His claws are sharp, his fangs are long, and he is very lean and athletic. He is every bit the part of a wild timberwolf. The only feature that sets him apart are his striking light green eyes. They betray an aura of intelligence and sophistication that are able to cut through his otherwise fearsome bestial appearance.

Even as a worgen Eulysses dresses in conservative but well tailored clothes typical of a common blooded aristocrat.

History

Eulysses Anthony Reeve was born the second child of the Reeve family. The Reeves owned and operated a considerably sized fleet of ships which sailed between Kul Tiras and all along the western coast of the Eastern Kingdoms doing trade between the various human nations. Their business was highly successful and the Reeve family was quite wealthy.

The boy benefited from a very privileged and aristocratic upbringing. Being safely tucked away in Gilneas, he was spared from much of the horrors of the Second War. However, the Reeves were staunch supporters of the Alliance and sent a great deal of money and supplies to Lordaeron and the other kingdoms to help the war effort. This was something that would stick with Eulysses into adulthood. He learned to appreciate the value of cooperation and good will and grew increasingly dissatisfied with King Genn Greyman’s rule as he grew older.

He was given a very good classical education in a variety of subjects as well as being taught manners to keep appearances for his family’s clients and sailing so that he would understand and respect the family business. Eulysses took to all of these things naturally, but he showed particular promise as a sailor. Thus, with him being the second child and the Reeve fleet already being entrusted to his more business minded older sister, Reeve enlisted in the navy like many others in his family had to prove his skills at sea and to bring prestige to his family name and to his kingdom. However, these ambitions would be stopped short when Gilneas officially withdrew from the Alliance and began their policy of isolation.

The Reeve family, Eulysses included, were greatly displeased by this action. This would lead to Eulysses himself joining in Darius Crowley’s rebellion, bringing his naval and military acumen to bear against Greymane. The rebels were, however, ultimately defeated and Eulysses was imprisoned for treason along with the rest of his comrades. He was released later when the worgen situation became too much for the king to handle on his own, but was turned after being bitten in the conflict. He roamed the wild as a monster for years before the aid of the night elves managed to temper the beast’s influence and he became himself again.

Eulysses has fully embraced being a worgen now. The change, whether asked for or not, he sees as a part of him now. He has taken to continuing to walk around in his worgen form and rarely adopts his old human one.
