RP Hooks

  • Agency: Ephemel's drive for freedom and personal power could draw her to anyone that can help her to achieve these things.
  • Something Wicked This Way Comes: Ephemel is attracted to all things dark and mysterious. Other warlocks, assassins, even death knights will all catch her interest.
  • Silvermoon Nobility: Try as she might, Ephemel cannot escape the legacy of her blood. She is a daughter of House Aro'ephel, and that sometimes comes with certain expectations and consequences.
  • Missing Mother: While others may have given up by now, Ephemel cannot let go of the mystery of her mother's disappearance.

Appearance

Long long jet-black hair drapes down around Ephemel's shoulders in sheets of pure midnight. Her hair frames a delicate, angular face with high cheekbones and a sharp jawline, giving her an otherworldly, almost ethereal appearance. Her pale, porcelain skin is seemingly flawless, though closer inspection would reveal some subtle scars carefully hidden by clothing and ornamentation.

Ephemel's steps are measured and calculated, as if every movement is deliberate and considered. Her voice is low and husky, with a hint of sardonic wit, as if she is always in on some dark joke. When she speaks, her words are clipped and precise, with a slight, almost imperceptible uppercrust accent suggesting her noble origins, but which she has consciously tried to suppress.

Personality

Ephemel is fiercely independent and determined, with a deep yearning for freedom and power. She is unafraid to pursue her own goals, even if they go against the expectations of her family and society. At the same time, Ephemel is haunted by the memory of her mother's disappearance and the legacy of arcane knowledge she left behind. This has given her a deep sense of curiosity and a thirst for knowledge, which she channels into her studies as a warlock.

Despite her single-minded focus on her own goals, Ephemel is not entirely selfish or callous. She values loyalty and will fiercely defend those she considers allies or friends, even if it means putting herself in danger. However, she can be cold and calculating at times, and her methods of achieving her goals can be ruthless and unforgiving.

Romance

History

Ephemel, the second child of Elemaeo of House Aro'ephel, was born into a world of luxury and privilege. From a young age, Ephemel was drawn to the study of magic and was groomed to become a mage like her parents. Her mother, Aeyeph’kae, a scholar and explorer who imbued in her daughter a deep curiosity and love for arcane knowledge, disappeared when Ephemel was still a child, leaving behind a legacy of arcane power and mystery that would haunt her for years to come.

At Duskwither Spire, a prestigious school for mages, Ephemel excelled in her studies. However, as she grew older, she became increasingly disillusioned with the oppressive control over magic enforced by the Magisters of Silvermoon and the Kirin Tor. She saw the rigid structures of mage society as a hindrance to her own potential and as an obstacle to true power. One of her instructors at the Spire recognized her potential and showed her other paths, and she turned to the darker, more forbidden aspects of magic, studying the arts of the warlock in secret.

Driven by a fierce determination and a rebellious streak, combined with the quick and easy power the fel promised, she grew in power as a warlock far faster than she ever had as a mage. Though it would be years before she fully abandoned her arcane studies, she secretly devoted most of her attention to the fel arts.

Ephemel's relationship with her older sister, Elowel, was always strained. Elowel was concerned with their family's reputation and status, and Ephemel couldn't care less. When Ephemel's interest in the dark arts became known, it drove a deeper wedge as it was a potential stain on the family name. Their father, Elemaeo, was a stern and uncompromising man who expected his children to excel in everything they did. He was disappointed that Ephemel had quit her arcane study, but he also quietly recognized the potential power that could come from her forbidden arts.

Despite her family's misgivings, Ephemel continued to hone her skills as a warlock, making alliances with other powerful practitioners and delving deeper into the shadowy underworld of Murder Row, with an eye to the darker corners of Azeroth beyond. Her primary motivation was to gain freedom and power, and she was willing to risk everything to achieve it.

Relationships

Elowel
Others see an utterly self-absorbed, preening narcissist. They don't know Elowel like I do. She is far more dangerous than anyone realizes, and by the time they do it will be too late.

Wyllithen

Wyllithen
The only person at Duskwither Spire I could stand was the groundskeeper. He was the only one there that had no expectations of me and just took me as I was. I hope he made it out of there alright.
Briyanthe
I cannot complain. She's unbearable cheerful and too wrapped up in her precious Light. But she fed me when I was hungry. That's not nothing.
Coriene
I think we almost got along at Duskwither. I suppose it was just that I knew how to cope with her, as she reminds me so often of Elowel. They're not exactly the same, though. Coriene is more honest about who she is.
Crim
A shaman, I believe. He was at Lady Roseshine's free luncheon. He was very mellow for an orc.

Liyen

Liyen
I didn't get much of a read on her. She said I didn't look anything like my sister, though…so she's endeared herself to me.

Sellaine

Sellaine
Clearly she was a blueblood in life, but it seems undeath has tempered her worst behaviors. I probably would have hated her before; she sounds too much like Elowel. Maybe we could get along now.
