Appearance
A well-groomed, tall night elf man, with long, silky purple hair and close-cut facial hair, and smooth pink skin. He's relatively slim, clearly not a fighter, and tends to wear stylish robes.
Personality
Gentle - Accepting - Vain - Steadfast
Celaven is a very difficult person to shock, and he generally treats others with open acceptance and curiosity. He holds himself to different standards, though, and is much more likely to be self-critical than critical of others. He also has a tendency to cater to others' needs even at his own expense, which is part self-denial and part just his natural tendency to seek to heal and nurture. All of this does make it somewhat difficult for people to get to know his genuine self, but anyone who manages will find him to be deeply loyal.
He's also very aware that he has a certain kind of delicate attractiveness, and he puts in considerable effort to stay that way (fashion, grooming, etc.). One might guess he's averse to the outdoors, but that's not true. He is rather fond of forests, but he's more likely to slip through quietly and examine the flora than to climb trees and swim in rivers.
This character can be romanced.
History
Celaven is a little over five hundred years old, and is the younger brother of the Sentinel Larawen Rivenbark. They are both the children of Anareline Evensong and her then-partner Cerelar Dawnshadow, a druid of the Cenarion Circle. He is also the half-brother of Florande Wildbloom.
Celaven was something of a disappointment to his father, who had hoped to have a son to follow in his footsteps with the Circle. Instead, Celaven felt called to the priesthood of Elune, which was not seen as an appropriate path for a little boy. His father left on 'druid business' when he was an adolescent, and showed no further interest in his life. His mother did her best to soften this blow, but it was a difficult rejection for a child, and now a man, to bear. Still, Celaven did spend considerable time growing up with his sister Larawen, whom he adores and looks up to, and his mother Anareline, who he loves despite her shortcomings.
After the Third War, he was finally accepted into the priesthood of Elune, and he began to wander and learn more about other races. After a disappointment with a mercenary company in Kalimdor, he joined Cobalt Company. He has now served as a healer for Cobalt for several years. During this time, he met and befriended the druid Caspis Silvershade, and eventually helped Caspis to make contact with his mother. It turns out the two were long-lost soulmates, and now Celaven has come to look up to Caspis as something like a father.
More recently, Celaven has found romance himself, in a tumultuous relationship with Velrin Silverbloom, which fell apart during the Company's mission in Outland. Both of them had problems to work through, Velrin with pain of her past, and Celaven with various emotional upsets, including a surprise adult half-sister (Florande) and the death and reanimation of a close friend (Syarra) as a death knight. After some time healing separately, the two of them have decided to try again, this time with more honesty and openness.
The most recent development with Celaven is that he is pursuing a position in the 7th Legion. At the moment, he's been taken on as a temporary healer with the 6th EU, which has had incredibly bad luck with healers in the past. Provided it works out and he passes the training within the next year, his affiliation will formally switch from Cobalt Company to 7th Legion.
