RP Hooks
- W.E.B.: Carlay works with the W.E.B. as one of the warlocks, Destruction specialty, especially known for being helpful to those who didn't come to warlocking through conventional methods, or who have learned bad habits from figuring things out on their own. He's known for being a bit cranky and unsmiling, who can't be lied to easily, but often oddly gentle with second chances and willing to meet warlocks where they're at.

Appearance
A man with dark brown skin, and several visible scars over his face from more than one time period that suggests a life of various violent episodes. He wears earrings, usually dark studs, and keeps his dense, curly hair short. He's around 6' though he rarely stands to his full height, preferring a bit of a slouch.
In his worgen form, he's dark gray, with a heavy white scar down his cheek.
Personality

Carlay was born with his eyes and ears open, but a naturally tender heart that let him take a few paths down dark trails into bad decisions. He doesn't blame the ones who pulled him down those paths, and he lives with the consequences with a resigned, cynical edge. He may be somewhat reluctant to step forward for those in trouble and need when he knows it's going to be a dark story, but he always seems to do it.
Not much one for the books, Carlay's a man of the street smarts and paying close attention to the real-world effects, and his natural caution makes him a relatively moral and self-aware warlock. Despite how long he's been at it, it's clear that the corrosive influence of the fel has a long way to go on the man, who accepts the consequences of his decision much the same way he does of his past.

History
Carlay Carlisle has had three disruptions of his story.
When he was in his early-twenties, he was convicted of second-degree murder in protection of a woman, which earned him 7 years behind bars. He served his due time and was released, right out into a growing conflict of internal tensions of Gilneas. He became a private investigator, though he was known to be involved in a lot of shady circles, often due to the ties that had bound him up by the situation that had put him behind bars.
Eight years ago, Carlay became a warlock, under controlled circumstances, in an attempt to deal with the worgen curse. He pursued the power purposefully, but with an eye on the gas.
Three years ago, he lost the fight, being bitten by a worgen while attempting to hold back a large pack. He managed to self-isolate, and keep himself from biting the others before he lost control, but the curse took hold.
He doesn't have a lot of good luck, Mr. Carlay. But he does have a moral compass. So, when the Shattering brought the worgen warlock to the city and to the W.E.B., he wandered in. His expertise, his manner, and his willingness to teach for a truly appallingly low salary earned him a place of slow building trust, and he's remained there ever since.

| Melancholy Grimlocke A chance met dame with something to prove after the world knocked her back, Carlay agreed to teach her how to be a proper warlock after a year wait to cool down and think it through. When she came back with an itemized list and a measured reasoning for her to continue her impulse, he held up his side of the bargain. He has tried to instill in her the values and cautions she'll need to slow the corruption, but he fears her youth may affect how well she keeps to them. |
