RP Hooks

• Blacksmith: Atley is well-known in certain professional circles as a skilled blacksmith and is a member of both the Thorium Brotherhood and the Mithril Order.

• Horseman: Atley has had a lifelong appreciation for horses and an inherent, practiced aptitude to match. He is always interested in talking about horses and engages with them in something akin to childlike enjoyment.

• Lifelong Soldier: Atley has effectively been in the army since he was eight years old. He was a camp follower in the Second War on the major campaign trail. Later, he became a footman of Lordaeron who saw combat in most major engagements of the Third War with the 1st Legion under Prince Arthas Menethil, and later with the Lordaeron Brigade under Lady Jaina Proudmoore. Atley was later knighted. He has spent recent years as a Squad Leader for Cobalt Company.

• Stormwind/Lordaeron: His father was a woodsman, and his mother did laundry in town. They were commoners who lived in a cabin near Lakeshire. After Stormwind was evacuated and sacked, Atley decided to spend his formative years in Lordaeron, traveling through every corner of it.

• Thunderfury, Blessed Blade of the Windseeker: With help from the Thorium Brotherhood and Cobalt Company, Atley reforged the legendary blade with enchanted elementium, black dragon bone, and hide. He wields it in the name of the Alliance and Azeroth as a whole.

• The Lion Horn of Stormwind: Atley received this artifact from Lord Elohad Ference upon the first anniversary of his knighthood. Stormwind knights have carried the Lion Horn in an unbroken chain for centuries. When it's Atley's time to die, he will pass it on to a worthy successor to maintain the sacred tradition.

Appearance

Tall, broad, and strong. Dane stands out in a crowd of peasants, but fits right in amongst other footmen in the army. He boasts wide shoulders and thick arms, with countless scars etched across his battle hardened frame.

He often carries a grim look on his hardened features, and even when satisfied with a job well done, he can be seen glaring intensely. He bears common human features. His hair is the color of deep oak, and his eyes shine like emeralds in the right lighting. His presence is heavy, and could almost be described as looming, even among allies.

His clothing has historically been simple, though since attaining knighthood he has made efforts to dress according to his social station while in public. Nevertheless, when at home in Eastvale, he often sports sleeveless shirts and well worn, dirty work boots, and could be mistaken for a commoner if not for his rigid military posture and hulking physicality.

Personality

Stalwart - Ardent - Pragmatic - Sentimental

Blunt, gruff, cynical, and to the point. Years of war has made Atley impatient and direct. Nevertheless, he has regained a love for his people and has committed his life to the service of Stormwind, and the Grand Alliance as a whole.

He is deathly loyal to his allies and commitments, and he remembers foes and wrongs done to him well — perhaps too well.

He is enthusiastic and driven in his pursuits, even when it comes to extreme feats of unrestrained violence. He often entertains cruel calculus when it comes to problem solving, especially in the context of war.

He can be brutally realistic in his approach, not uncommonly to the point of cruelty towards his enemies for what he believes is the greater good.

He holds warm sentiments for people, places, animals, and items underneath it all, though rarely overtly exhibits it, but he struggles to let go of grudges.

History

Dane was born the son of woodcutting peasants in Lakeshire, Redridge. During the First War, his father traded in the timber axe for the sword and was never seen again. Due to the heroic sacrifice of his mother on the docks of Stormwind, Dane was able to escape to the north with his fellow refugees.

Then orphaned, he fell in with the army as a 'camp rat' and was a part of the rear echelon in many of the war's most historic battles. Here, he took on multiple duties, such as at the infirmary tent and at the forge. He also trained in the way of the sword and shield under the gaze of Alliance soldiers as a child. At roughly the age of fifteen, he became a footman and served dutifully in the internment camps and on nearly every major battlefield of the subsequent Third War.

He officially resigned from the army in disgust after being ordered to standby while Lord Admiral Daelin Proudmoore was slain by Horde forces at Theramore, forever becoming disillusioned with the ruling class of the Alliance, particularly the nobility.

While a meandering, half-drunken sellsword in Goldshire, Atley came upon a flier for Cobalt Company, a mercenary group hosted by one Sir Elohad Ference, a knight he had met and held a fascination and adoration for since he was a small boy.

Atley threw himself in with Cobalt Company, and engaged in many adventures across both the Eastern Kingdoms, Kalimdor, even moving through the Dark Portal into Outland, eventually attaining an official knighthood at the hand of Elohad with Sir Colson Aspenwood serving as knight's witness. He eventually went on to fight in the both the Nexus and Scourge wars in Northrend, against the Lich King, being among the first to storm Icecrown Citadel alongside Cobalt Company.

While serving with Cobalt Company, he met and fell in love with Cobalt colleague and assassin Ivrianna Barlowe. The two later married and had children.

Karson Elohad Atley was named after Ivrianna's late father, and Elohad Ference, who has been a father figure to both Dane and Ivrianna. Lila Niris Atley is made up of Lila, a traditional family name on her maternal grandmother's side, and Niris, a close friend of the Atleys and the wife of Elohad Ference.

+ The First War

• Born five years before the opening of the Dark Portal in a cabin near Lakeshire in the Redridge Mountains.

• Initially terrified by rumors of distant monsters in the Black Morass.

• Witnessed contingents of Stormwind Knights, led by Sir Anduin Lothar, travel across the Everstill Bridge to venture into the Black Morass.

• Was saved two years into the war when Sir Anduin Lothar and his knights thwarted an orcish raiding party on Lakeshire led by Blackhand himself. There, his father joined with the militia and was never seen again. He and his mother traveled west as the southern Redridge Mountains were evacuated before they later fell to the Horde.

• Witnessed the Brotherhood of Northshire in action while passing through Three Corners.

• Took refuge in Grand Hamlet (modern day Darkshire) during the failed initial siege of Stormwind City. Later witnessed a successful defense of the village against Horde invaders, though his mother insisted they move on.

• Traveled to Goldshire with his mother and other refugees, narrowly escaping the second siege of Grand Hamlet, which resulted in the razing of the village with no survivors.

• Similarly avoided the razing of Goldshire by fleeing to Stormwind City, thanks to his mother's intuition.

• Barely managed to escape Stormwind as it was sacked by the Horde, due to his mother's heroic sacrifice.

+ The Second War

• Traveled to Southshore with the evacuation fleet with other Stormwind refugees, now orphaned. Landed with Sir Anduin Lothar personally and lived in Southshore for a time. Prepared for war in the Hillsbrad Foothills as the Council of Seven Nations took place in Capital City.

• First met the kind and noble Sir Elohad Ference while tending to horses in the Hillsbrad Foothills, leaving an indelible mark on Dane's memory.

• Observed the Battle of Hillbrad Foothills from afar. Witnessed the first paladins and death knights ride into combat and turn the tide of battle.

• Later assigned to scavenge the battlefield for salvageable materials, and given orders to put down allies too far gone to be healed and enemies that were merely wounded for the battles of Hillsbrad Foothills and beyond.

• Followed Anduin Lothar and his armies east into the Hinterlands as the Horde diverted. Witnessed the breaking of the siege of Aerie Peak, and gryphons for the first time with awe.

• Was assigned to Turalyon's contingent to race the Horde towards Quel'thalas. First encountered Amani Trolls and witnessed the wartorn destruction of the Eversong Woods. Saw Silvermoon City from afar and the Quel'dorei in action after they joined the Alliance.

• Narrowly escaped death by dragon fire as the Dragonmaw Clan and their enslaved dragons created a 'firestorm' that enveloped the Eversong Woods, which blotted out the sun.

• Hastily traveled south with Turalyon's army to intercept the Horde before they could assault Capital City.Passed through the pillaged community of Blackwood and witnessed the aftermath of a massacre.

• Was present during the battle of Caer Darrow.

• Observed the Siege of Capital City as the Alliance and Horde clashed outside of the city walls. Eventually heard of the betrayal of King Perenolde of Alterac, and later that King Trollbane was using Stromgardian armies to block the Alteraci mountain passes.

• Was present after the Siege when the Horde broke out into full retreat but sent dragon riders to waylay ruthlessly pursuing Alliance forces. Witnessed countless smaller battles between Capital City and the Wetlands.

• Witnessed the battle for the Thandol Span, a joint conflict involving the Alliance armies and navies supported by the newly-retaken Tol Barad.

• Was present during the liberation of Dun Modr and Dun Algas, encountering dwarves for the first time.

• Traveled deeper into Khaz Modan, and witnessed the swift defeat of Bleeding Hollow Clan, having been left behind to slow the Alliance's movement.

• Was present at the liberation of Ironforge and Gnomeregan, and first encountered gnomes. Played a supportive role in grueling hunting parties, often led by paladins, scouring much of the region to track down any orc remnants that resisted their upheaval with guerilla tactics.

• Traveled into the Burning Steppes with the entirety of the Alliance army to partake in the Siege of Blackrock Mountain. Narrowly avoided death as the Horde broke out from Blackrock Mountain in an aggressive attack, pushing past the rear echelon.

• Witnessed the shattering of the Great Royal Sword and the death of Sir Anduin Lothar at the hands of Orgrim Doomhammer from afar with horror. Was blinded as Turaylon took up Lothar's sword and channeled the Holy Light, defeating Doomhammer, and was renwned with hope and vigor. Watched as the Horde dissolved under Turalyon's inspiring speech.

• Took part in pursuing the orcs through the Black Morass, led by the death knight Teron Gorfiend, retreating toward the Dark Portal in the Blasted Lands. Witnessed the Battle of the Dark Portal in all its horror.

• Witnessed Kirin Tor mage Khadgar and his fellow spellcasters seal and destroy the Dark Portal.

• Partook in multiple smaller forces that were focused on tracking and either eliminating or wiping out survivng orc groups in the Eastern Kingdom, and traveled back to Lordaeron in Turalyon's contingent some time later.

• Traveled back to the Blasted Lands with Turalyon's contingent. Witnessed the Sons of Lothar passing through The Dark Portal.

• Elected to return to and stay in Lordaeron along with many other Stormwind refugees.

• Became a footman in the Lordaeronian army at fifteen.

• Spent a summer in Stromgarde training with Sir Brennan McTavish.

+ The Third War

• Deployed to pursue the escaped orcs under Thrall. Assisted in the capturing of Grommash Hellscream. Fought against the Warsong Clan, but could not stop the liberation of Grom nor the Exodus of the Horde. Despite this, he received a battlefield promotion to sergeant from corporal.

• Assigned to the 1st Legion under Prince Arthas Menethil alongside Uther the Lightbringer as a Sergeant in the Lordaeronian Army.

• Fought in the defense of Strahnbrad against orcish raiders and slave drivers of the Blackrock Clan.

• Took part in hunting and killing the black dragon Searinox with the 1st Legion and Dwarven dragon hunters to claim its black heart.

• Witnessed a blademaster of the Blackrock Clan sacrificing townsfolk and a personal friend, an unlucky footman, in an attempt to summon demons.

• Received Jaina Proudmoore alongside Prince Arthas Menethil to investigate the reports of plagues in the northern provinces.

• Defended local townsfolk against bandits on the King's Road, between Strahnbrad and Andorhal.

• First encountered the undead; skeletal archers specifically. Survived through shield wall tactics.

• Discovered an ancient enchanted fountain in the forest alongside his fellow soldiers and Prince Arthas Menethil and Jaina Proudmoore.

• Encountered a plague infected granary and blighted terrain for the first time.

• Joined with High Elven priests from Quel'thalas, who had come to help heal the land of the strange curse, and subsequently rendezvoused with Dwarven mortar men.

• Encountered an abomination for the first time at a plagued warehouse, and crossed paths with Kel'thuzad the necromancer along with members of the Cult of the Damned in Andorhal, later killed them all with the 1st Legion and Jaina Proudmoore.

• Arrived to the sanctuary of Hearthhglen, to find the city had been besieged repeatedly by waves of the undead, later discovering that the village itself had been infected by grain shipments from Andorhal. Put down undead.

• Held the line at Hearthglen. Participated in a darking strike, venturing out to disrupt a Scourge caravan carrying more plagued grain to outer villages. Additionally, fought ogres roused by the plague that had come down from the hills. Was eventually rescued and relieved by Uther the Lightbringer and a contingent of Knights of the Silver Hand.

• Arrived in Stratholme to see that the city was already infected by plagued grain under the supervision of the dreadlord Mal'Ganis. Elected to follow Arthas out of belief of the necessity of the mission and helped to purge Stratholme, not merely because he was ordered to. Fought Mal'Ganis and his Scourge forces.

• Distraught over Prince Arthas' choice to follow Mal'Ganis to Northrend, Atley deserted the 1st Legion and joined the Lordaeron Brigade under Jaina Proudmoore, sailing west to Kailmdor after rallying what survivors they could.

• Arrived in modern day Durotar and The Barrens, encountering harpies and quilboar for the first time. Encountered the Warsong Clan and engaged them in combat, before fighting against Thrall's forces. Helped establish a blockade on a mountain pass, forcing Thrall's forces to use zeppelins to pass.

• Encountered tauren for the first time in league with Thrall's forces in the Stonetalon Mountains, and engaged them in combat to keep the New Horde from reaching The Oracle in Stonetalon Peak. Witnessed the utilization of wyverns in combat during a fierce air battle.

• Ventured into the caverns beneath Stonetalon Peak with Jaina Proudmoore and his other comrades to find "The Oracle." Engaged in fierce subterranean combat against the orcs, trolls, and tauren in ancient halls filled with traps, 'living statues,' quilboar, and harpies. Willingly allowed himself to get polymorphed into a sheep along with other soldiers to partake in an underground ambush at the behest of high elven sorceresses.

• Encountered The Prophet for the first time in person, alongside Jaina Proudmoore, Thrall, and Cairne Bloodhood. Chafed at the suggestion that the survivors of Lordaeron must unite with the New Horde to thwart the Burning Legion. Learned that the Warsong Clan had willingly corrupted themselves again by drinking the blood of Mannoroth to achieve victory in Ashenvale.

• Grudgingly took in part in fighting and eventually curing the Warsong Clan, fighting alongside Thrall and Cairne's forces against fel orcs. Encountered demons for the first time. Witnessed the burning of the sky and endured a ceaseless downpour of flaming fel elementals. Learned that the orcs had knowingly given themselves up to the demons in the first place on Draenor.

• Served under the paladin Sir Duke Lionheart as the combined human and Horde forces ventured into the foothills below Mount Hyjal in preparation to confront the Burning Legion — still quite grudgingly.

• Encountered night elves for the first time, led by Tyrande Whisperwind. Engaged them in fierce guerilla warfare in Ashenvale. Was in line to receive a medal or promotion for valorous service, but Sir Duke Lionheart was killed before it could be solidified.

• Was ambushed by the arrival of Burning Legion and Scourge forces in Ashenvale. Notably fought against doomguards and shades in brutal combat.

• Later heard from Jaina Proudmoore, senior officers, that The Prophet was Medivh, The Last Guardian, and that the kaldorei and their allies must join the survivors of Lordaeron and the New Horde in defense of Mount Hyjal.

• Fought in the battle of Mount Hyjal against Archimonde and the Burning Legion, specifically ordered to delay the enemy as long as possible for Malfurion Stormrage's ritual to be a success. Was eventually forced to withdraw, saved with a mass teleportation by Jaina Proudmoore.

• Witnessed the success of Malfurion Stormrage's ritual, and the destruction of Archimonde the forests on the slopes of Mount Hyjal.

• Assisted in the construction of Theramore.

• Battled naga for the first time on the coast.

• First encountered Rexxar and Chen Stormstout when they were sent as emissaries from Orgrimmar.

• Celebrated the arrival of Lord Admiral Daelin Proudmoore and his Kul Tirasian fleet, which had come to see to the wellbeing of the survivors of Lordaeorn, and Jaina Proudmoore specifically.

• Fought in the defense of Theramore against orcs, trolls, tauren, and the Stonemaul ogres under Lord Admiral Daelin Proudmoore, unaware of Jaina Proudmoore's collaboration at this point.

• Was infuriated and disgusted as Jaina Proudmoore stood down the Theramore garrison upon the death of LordAdmiral Proudmoore.

• Put in his resignation papers the next day as opposed to deserting and hiding in the Dustwallow Marsh. Booked a passage to Stormwind when he was finally released, some years later.

+ World of Warcraft

• Joined Cobalt Company.

• Led a varied squad on adventures across Kalimdor and the Eastern Kingdoms.

• Led a squad as part of a two squad venture into Deadmines to slay the dreaded leader of the Defias Brotherhood, Edwin Van Cleef.

• Led Blue Squad into Drak'tharon Keep in hopes of securing an Alliance passage, only to be betrayed by Drakuru

• Took part in a two squad venture in killing the lich Thel'zan, reducing the threat from Naxxramas.

• Was present at The Battle of Angrathar the Wrathgate. The Forsaken deployment of plague results in the deaths of approx. 9000 Alliance and Horde soldiers, and the battle is lost.

• Led a squad into Ahn'kahet: the Old Kingdom, to put an end to the creeping presence of the Old Gods there.

• Took part in meeting with the goddess Oacha'noa, securing the Kalu'ak as allies against the Lich King for the Alliance.

• Fought in a combined Cobalt Company, Explorer's League, and Kirin Tor offensive into Ulduar. Cobalt Company helped to recover Thorim, defeat Yogg-Saron, and then helped convince Algalon the Observer to not destroy Azeroth.

• Fought for the Battle of Icecrown Citadel and stormed the Citadel itself alongside Cobalt Company, and witnessed Bolvar Fordragon become the new Lich King upon the downfall of Arthas. His horse Hutch died in the ensuing battle.

• Ventured into the Obisidan Sanctum with Cobalt Company to handle a situation with Twilight Dragon Eggs for the Wyrmrest Accord.

• Fought to defend Northshire Abbey from the Blackrock Clan alongside other Stormwind Knights.

Ivrianna Atley Ivrianna gave Dane, an orphan, a family, more than he ever expected to have. Despite a wide range of experience, she is truly the only woman he has ever loved. She is his wife and mother to his children, and he is close with her siblings and their spouses.

Karson Barlowe

Karson Barlowe Father in law. Dane immediately respected Karson upon meeting him, and had since developed a strong sense of responsibility to keep his beloved Weevil safe. The secrets he learned and kept about Karson's past did not dim his appraisal of the man, but merely expanded his view. Dane named his firstborn son after Karson. Though he he may never admit it, Dane feels responsible for Karson's death. He viewed the Barlowes as a rare, intact family group in a world of warcraft, and it was only after his arrival that the family became fractured.

Neila Shane Nanny. Dane likes that she is gentle with his children without being weak.

Almeiria Good looking woman, but something is wrong with her. He doesn't know the full story, and believes he doesn't need to. He first encountered her in Northrend, and has worked with her in Deepholm. He often gets nostalgic for days when Stormwind would hang witches on site as opposed to making allowances for them.

Alysson Mondragon The lad is touched in the head, either half-mad or half-stupid. Still, he's a talented sneak, and doesn't have an ounce of resentment or malevolence in his body. He once found a Lich's phylactery in an Outhouse in Netherstorm.

Annibeth Jansen Good looking woman. Loud, from a perfectly fine class of people.

Averlena Coit

Averlena Coit Good looking woman. Dane and her have a brief history dating back Theramore in the Third War. He had wanted a woman from home to hold after months of carnage. He sees now that there was more to her than he thought possible. He is confused by her choice to become a warlock, and pities her for it, but he doesn't resent her, and wishes her happiness with Shine.

Duchess Avrenne Esprit Fallon

Duchess Avrenne Esprit Fallon Good looking woman. She comes from an old line of nobility closely associated with the military in Lordaeron that Dane had thought was utterly wiped out by the Scourge. He cannot deny her patriotism or effectiveness, but he does resent and hold a measure of skepticism over the influence that non-combat veterans hold over warfare. She is married Admiral Fallon, another patriot, and the two are a powerful pair when it comes to Stormwind politics. He has sent gifts for the Fallon children. and from them has received gifts for his children in kind.

Ben	Ben Ben sharply reminds Dane of his past fallen comrades in a way that has cultivated immediate affection and nostalgia. He is proud of Ben, and is willing to follow him as one of Cobalt Company's lieutenants.

Dame Briellen Clay

Dame Briellen Clay A fellow knight, but she fights for the Argent Crusade. He'd like to see her commendable abilities solely sworn into the service of Stormwind and the Grand Alliance.

Sir Colson Aspenwood

Sir Colson Aspenwood Dane asked Colson to be the knight witness out of respect for him at his knighting ceremony. Dane also asked Colson to teach him how to dance. Dane did not expect much from Colson based on his appearance and what he knew of his background, but he has been surprisingly refreshing in his respectability, honor, and patriotism as a knight brother. Still, despite the fondness and respect Dane feels for him, they have clashed when it comes to methods and priorities of war.

Shine

Shine Dane and Shine first worked together in Cobalt Company's final storming of Stratholme. Dane approved of him from the start. Another military man, though he was a marine, and Dane will never let the army/navy rivalry die, but it's all in good fun and out of affection. Shine has very appropriate sensibilities when it comes to orcish hatred, and is deadly as he is professional. Dane is also keenly aware that Shine is now and forever Admiral Fallon's man, and is in a relationship with Lena.

Cressidha Aspenwood

Cressidha Aspenwood Dane and Cressidha's friendship goes back to the formation of Cobalt Company. He initially did not expect much from someone who looked like her with her background, but he's been pleasantly surprised by her grit and capability over the years. He feels protective of her, almost like a sister, though they have clashed when it comes to cruelty in the field. He's worked with her more consistently than with anyone else, and the two have an unspoken, well-established rhythm when it comes to prolonged combat.

Lord Elohad Ference

Lord Elohad Ference Many years ago, Dane was a starving and despairing orphan of war tending to horses when a knight stopped to remind him that the world hadn't ended and that there were still such things as goodness and nobility. The moment never left Dane's memory. He followed Elohad's career, mostly in secret, and held Elohad in high regard for many years. It was when Dane had left the army, and was rudderless, that he found a poster for Cobalt Company, and decided to join solely because of Elohad's involvement. Since then, he has found purpose, a love, a family, self-respect, and has been actualizing his true potential. Elohad is the closest he has to a father figure, and knighted Dane before High King Varian Wrynn, a true high point in Dane's life. Dane is utterly loyal and devoted to him to the point where their detractors might refer to Dane, and eventually possibly the entire Atley clan as, "Ference's wild dog[s]." Dane has named his given his firstborn son the middle name of 'Elohad.'

Estel Herald

Estel Herald She oversaw the birth of his first child and son, Karson. She was also the medical expert he and his wife Ivri went to when she was first pregnant. He finds her humor and vocabulary both amusing and refreshing for a priest.

Fionette Crawford's Remains

Fionette Crawford's Remains Dane fought with her at Andorhal. Good in a fight and for little else, like most deathknights.

Sanders

Sanders Dane views him as a troublesome younger brother. He is disapproving of his distracted, wayward nature, but genuinely wants the best from him, and for him to step away from demonology forever. They go back to the founding of Cobalt Company.

Gwenivene Whittle

Gwenivene Whittle He views her as younger sister in need of protecting. He admires her telemancy expertise, even if he can't understand half of what she says when she gets going. He may view her as naive, but she's never hesitated to do what's necessary when necessary, no matter how hard.

Jonas Dane met him once at Bruuk's, and doesn't understand why there's continued distance between him and Ben. They seem like they would get along well.

Ismene Hazan

Ismene Hazan Good looking woman. Timid, kind, perhaps too kind, but effective. She lost her people when the Forsaken destroyed Southshore. Ben's woman.

Dame du Lac Good looking woman. Feisty and irreverent for a knight, especially a paladin, but down to earth and reliable in the field.

Sir Kyris Lysander

Sir Kyris Lysander He had heard of The Swordsman before working with him in the fight for Andorhal. They later fought extensively back to back on Tol Barad. They worked together well, with minimal speaking beyond the tactically necessary. He surmises that Kyris has no love of leadership, just love for the blade. He wonders how that goes over with the Lysander Patriarch. Kyris is one of the best swordsman he's ever seen, but he would not go so far as to call him the best in the Kingdoms.

Dame Lydia Harcourt

Dame Lydia Harcourt A thunderous and retributive knight paladin. Dane would love to see her swear her services solely and strictly to Stormwind and the Grand Alliance. They fought together in Stratholme, and killed Balnazzar.

Mayellen Hazan

Mayellen Hazan Good looking woman. Jonas Hazan's woman. Cheeky. Met her at Bruuk's.

Mordecai Aspenwood

Mordecai Aspenwood Dane is fond of and protective over Mordecai. He deeply respect his work as an army Chaplain and healer during the Third War, and his contributions to the Alliance since then. Mordecai married Dane to his wife as per Dane's request. He is a living example of the Holy Light's grace.

Nairee Holt

Nairee Holt A good girl. She fell on some hard times, and Dane didn't want to see her become desperate. He taught her to fend for herself, literally and metaphorically, and likes to check back in on her progress whenever he returns to Eastvale.

Niris Ference

Niris Ference Good looking woman. Niris and Dane go back to the formation of Cobalt Company. He had known there was grit in her from the moment he first saw her. He admires her strength, history, and sharp wit, and the role she has played specifically in the life of his wife. He gave his second child and first daughter, Lila, the name of 'Niris' for a middle name.

That One Lady Good looking woman. Stacked like a reinforced tower. Saw her at a wedding once. Nobility?

Ralaea

Ralaea Ward of House Fallon. Impressively excellent with blades, beyond her size and age. She has a troubled past, and has no love for the crown, but she's been a steadfast Cobalt Company member since her arrival.

Roper Sunstrike

Roper Sunstrike Quite possibly Dane's least favorite deathknight, but there's always Thassarian. Roper is good at killing, but Dane does not trust him, especially knowing how much of a talker Roper is and how skilled he is at scheming. He would never break his oaths and attack Roper unprovoked and unwarranted, but he eagerly awaits the day Roper missteps. He will grudgingly work alongside him until then.

Sir Sesvastyn Black

Sir Sesvastyn Black Dane initially crossed paths with Sir Black in Andhoral during the Third War. He is an impressive knight paladin of Stromgardian origin. Dane respects his tenacity, integrity and military service. He would like to see Sir Black swear oaths solely and entirely to Stormwind and the Grand Alliance.

Siamus Fallon

Siamus Fallon Admiral, war veteran, patriot, and extremely sensible when it comes to orcs, and the Horde as a whole. In Siamus, Dane has found someone that can truly understand most of his childhood struggles. Siamus is a proud Tirasian, but he has sacrificed much and still does to maintain honorable oaths and loyalty to Stormwind. He would like to see Siamus become the Grand Admiral in time. He believes that if Kul Tiras is to ever come back into the fold, it will be through Admiral Fallon. Dane and Siamus have exchanged gifts for their respective children with respect and generosity. Siamus has even spoiled his children with a Tirasian beauty as their first steed.

Silvestre Silentstep

Silvestre Silentstep Dane was initially unimpressed with Silvestre, but he came to understand and respect his noble heart and sense of duty — not necessarily of the soldiering variety, but to his friends and Company. He regards Sil as a loyal, and uplifting member of the Alliance. He acknowledges his abilities as a scout and a quick blade, and has relied upon them.

Sergeant Major Fallon

Sergeant Major Fallon Good looking woman. Siamus' sister. Dane was surprised to find that she could make the cut for the 7th Legion, given her appearance and background, but he has no doubts about her now. She helped Blue Squad land an airship in Deepholm and he's fought beside her on the Molten Front. She's a friend of his wife, but the way she speaks raises his blood pressure with annoyance. He is surprised that everyone doesn't see through her performance, even if it tricked him in the past.

Sophiette Valonforth

Sophiette Valonforth Good looking woman. Dane fought alongside her father in the Third War. He also purged her hometown of Stratholme. He felt uncomfortable with the hero worship she laid upon him when they first met, knowing how her vision of him might change when she realizes that he wasn't raised in Stratholme — he helped burn it to the ground. Nevertheless, he isn't hiding the truth, and is ready to speak it when necessary.

Rozalin

Rozalin Good looking woman, but she's made terrible decisions shackling herself to Crim Ragefang, Hero of the Mag'har. Dane has tried to help her, but has stubbornly taken a step back upon her insistence that she has everything under control. He is concerned for her future, but no longer feels responsible for her fate, or so he tells himself.

Sir Amadeus Aspenwood

Sir Amadeus Aspenwood Knight of the Alliance. Died in the Cataclysm. Dane only ever heard good things.

Eckart Barlowe

Eckart Barlowe Ivrianna's oldest brother. Deathknight. He was killed by her parents to save the rest of their children. Dane keeps this heavy secret to honor an oath he gave to Eckart before executing him, and to preserve the dignity of fallen people he respects. Dane beheaded him, and buried the head in Eastvale, out of respect to the son, and brother that Eckart once was.

Crusader Etone

Crusader Etone Vond's partner. Argent Crusader. Outspoken critic of King Varian. Obnoxious, but competent.

Crusader Satterly

Crusader Satterly Dane worked and fought alongside him in Northrend. He's aware of Vond's hesitancy to side with either faction in the struggle over Azeroth, but Dane would like to remind Vond of humanity's greatness — and of how much they need him.

Torvald Big bastard. Friendly. He had once mentioned to Dane that he had heard of the Atleys in Redridge. Dane wanted to speak to him about that, but he died.

Prospector Brannagen Stillwall Brannagen and Dane have overcome many obstacles together on squad. He values Brannagen for his optimism, his knowledge, and is fond of the way Brannagen records almost everything. He feels protective of Brannagen.

Glynara Craghart Senator's daughter. Not impressive or endearing, but at least she was planning on becoming a mountaineer.

He has relied upon her marksmanship and tracking abilities many times over. Captain Jocoza Sparkwire Dane and Jocoza go back to the founding of Cobalt Company. He's always appreciated her calm, rational approach to leadership, and has relied upon her steadiness. She makes a fine Captain of the Company. He is especially fond of her clockwork wind up soldiers.

Niksi Knockfathom He doesn't know her well, but he's familiar with her exploits on Vashj'ir and with her naval innovations.

Siege Engineer Kerlo Quarterflash

Siege Engineer Kerlo Quarterflash They aren't at all close, but he's aware of his relationship with Jocoza. Kerlo is of the 7th Legion, which is highly respectable, and was one of the few gnomes present during the Battle of Mount Hyjal, in the Third War.

Tadget Sharpgear

Tadget Sharpgear Tadget might be crazy, which is to be expected from a member of the 7th Legion. Ivrianna has told him that she's married to Finnegan, which isn't particularly great. Nonetheless, Tadget is a ferocious ball of pain, and is good to have around in a fight.

Night Elves

Anareline Silvershade

Anareline Silvershade He initially knew her mainly as Caspis' Shalan, but he's come to know her as a fierce warrior. While curiously not a sentinel, he has fought alongside her before and she has taken a leadership position on the Molten Front. She has no love of hierarchies, likely due to Fandral's betrayal, but Dane can still work well with her.

Auralind Mistwalker

Auralind Mistwalker Dane and Auralind go back to Cobalt Company's founding. They've understood one another easily, perhaps in a way they occupy equivalent roles in each other's cultures. He will never hesitate to fight alongside her, and regards her as the epitome of kaldorei martial ferocity.

Caspis Silvershade

Caspis Silvershade Dane found an unexpectedly close bond with Caspis. They first worked together in Northrend, and despite their drastically different backgrounds, they have develeoped a genuinely mutual respect and love for one another. Dane is protective of Caspis, but sees him as a peer.

Celaven

Celaven Anareline's son, and a member of the 7th Legion, on top of 'courting' Velrin. Dane doesn't know him well, but what he does know is well enough.

Emerine Nightvine

Emerine Nightvine Sentinel. One of the quieter ones. He most notably fought alongside her in Ashenvale against the Horde. She does not hesitate to show cruelty to orcish invaders. This is highly respectable.

Florande Wildbloom

Florande Wildbloom Dane worked with Florande to make great diplomatic inroads with the tuskarr Kalu'ak of Northrend.

Imrolane

Imrolane Dane has had a number of encounters with Imrolane. He finds her savagery somewhat off putting, but she's a potent ally. He wonders just how long it took to made her this 'feral.'

Iphindra

Iphindra Dane has worked alongside Iphindra on squads since Northrend. Despite her bright, seemingly air-headed demeanor, she has proved to be wise in her own way, with a love for little things, without hesitating to take on grim tasks and duties. She has grown on him a little.

Raschal Crowflight

Raschal Crowflight Dane was there when Cobalt initially saved Raschal Crowflight from the Silithid. He is aware of some connection Raschal has with Finnegan, and therefore doesn't like him very much.

Velrin Silverbloom Velrin and Dane are close. She is always welcome at his home in Eastvale, and gets along well with his wife, having spoiled their children rotten with presents and gifts. Dane was honored to craft an Umbra Crescent for her induction into the kaldorei Watchers. Respectfully attended the ceremony to observe her transition.

Vindicator Erixa Dane has fought beside Erixa many times over, although it wasn't in an official squad capacity. She's a competent and reliable Vindicator of the Draenei.

Nunuzac

Nunuzac Dane has fought beside her before. She seems like sweet and tender hearted, and might be seen as naive if she weren't such a capable shaman. She attended his wedding and his knighting.

Worgen

Sergeant Zath Tyrrell

Sergeant Zath Tyrrell A leader in the 7th Legion, but Dane initially heard of him through his charitable efforts regarding Stormwind orphans. This granted Zath Dane's respect, if from afar. They first met and worked together on the Molten Front, where Dane learned that Zath had recently been afflicted with the worgen curse. He seems in control of himself, nevertheless.

Ozzy	Ozzy Dane first ran across her in Menethil Harbor. She appeared to be something of a fan. She's a member of the Gravehowl Pack, the group of Gilneans that made great account of themselves in the defense of Gilneas and in the subsequential evacuation. She is cheeky.

Thaniel Clay

Thaniel Clay Brother to Dame Briellen. Dane briefly spoke with him during the Stormwind envoy to Darnassus to welcome the Gilneans, and passed along a message from him to his sister. Something is wrong with his leg.

Orcs

Crim Ragefang, Hero of the Mag'har

Crim Ragefang, Hero of the Mag'har Crim is well spoken for an orc, and especially for a Warsong. He carries himself in a polite, civilized fashion, but Dane knows all he needs to by observing the human skull hanging from his belt. He will bring out the savagery in Crim, sooner rather than later. The longer that Crim lives, more members of the Alliance will die. The Horde will not fall as long as Crim is still left standing, and Dane means to be the one to kill him.

Blood Elves

Aszera Sunstrike

Aszera Sunstrike Good looking woman, even without the eyes. Dane spoke with her and even sparred with her at the Argent Tournament Grounds. He hates what she's done to herself, but can't deny the effectiveness of demon hunters. Despite the traitorous race she hails from, he'd like to see her come into the Alliance wholesale.

(2025-11-09) An Ecosystem is a Delicate Mechanism (S18 E4 - Blue Squad Log)	Blue Squad addresses some local ecosystem problems on behalf of the Alliance. They learn that it is bad for a species population to explode either numerically or physically, and that the navy has boats for its boats. They get a raft for a raft. The rafts do not get progressively larger, to Florande's disappointment.
(2025-11-06) How Are You With Everything?	Dane meets Estel at the Thunderfoot Inn and takes the opportunity to check in about how White Squad has been doing.
(2025-11-02) The Way of the Red Crane (S18 E3 - Blue Squad Log)	Blue Squad is dispatched deeper into the Krasarang Wilds, where they find the fabled Temple of the Red Crane... and a familiar -- but very unexpected -- face. They learn a great deal of pandaren wisdom. Well, they learn some pandaren sayings, anyway. The wisdom is up for debate. Another of Pandaria's Sha is vanquished. And no, I don't know whether the correct plural is saurok or sauren, but Blizzard doesn't seem to know either.
(2025-10-26) The Pools of Youth (S18 E2 - Blue Squad Log)	Blue Squad heads down to help at the border of the Krasarang Wilds, and ends up pulled up into an unexpected kaldorei expedition. Oranna is skeptical, and Befound is hungry. Florande was immortal as a tween. Bran's curiosity knows no danger. Atley is great at smashing things. Shine is silently effective, and Bun is leaning into adventure. ~7800 words
