RP Hooks

Fellow elder draenei might know her; any draenei with a taste for luxury and beautiful jewelry might be at least familiar with her by name.

Appearance

Anaanke is a white-skinned draenei woman with a long, straight spill of silvery hair and elegantly wide-swept horns. She dresses with obvious care, in flattering, feminine styles, often baring her slim, straight shoulders. This latter choice emphasizes the jewelry she wears: her horns are ornamented with bands of delicate silver filigree, and she tends to wear earrings of fine-wrought lengths of silver chain ornamented with tiny, glittering glass beads like strands of stars, or elaborate collarbone-draping necklaces of complex silver fretwork, or pearls that seem to float against her skin on wires spun so fine as to be invisible at a distance.

Personality

DREAMY * PRIVATE * SKILLFUL * CAUTIOUS

History

Born on the bitter winter slopes of Kaarinos, on distant Argus, Anaanke is older than she recalls, and has borne witness to the long arc of her people's history. A handmaiden of the naaru and priestess of the Light by vocation, she spent much of her time in solitary meditation.

When the Burning Legion corrupted her people and homeworld, Anaanke joined her fellow exiles on their flight across the cosmos in search of refuge. The draenei found themselves constantly on the run, crippled by their inability to rely even in defense on the arcane magics they had used to create their magnificent former civilization, for fear of attracting their Legion hunters.

It was on this long voyage, in the darkness between the stars, that Anaanke in her meditations first heard the voice of the Shadow. Counterpart to the Light, it offered a power that could combat the Legion without attracting them, and Anaanke, steadfast in her millennia of devotion to the Light, took hold of the Shadow for the sake of her people, unwavering in her faith: In the Light, we all cast shadows.
