RP Hooks

  • Veteran of the Second and Third Wars: Has fought in just about every major engagement of the Second War, as well as many of the battles on the Kalimdor front of the Third War. Would have respect for (and possibly familiarity with) anyone who has fought in either war, especially those who fought in Southshore during the Second War. Also deeply admires (to the point of near-worship) any veterans of the First War, and will hang on their every word, particularly if those words involve old war stories.
  • Mercenary: Prior to his involvement with Cobalt Company, was active in the Eastern Kingdoms mercenary field, and has established himself as an effective and reliable (if sloppy and unprofessional) mercenary of low-to-moderate renown.
  • Barfly: Is a heavy drinker and (and occasional drunken socializer), and would be a familiar face in the tavern scene of both Stormwind and Ironforge.

Appearance

Pale, reddish-orange hair and facial hair, a little tall, muscular.

Dressed in mail armor with tattered/threadbare clothing thrown over it.

Walks with an easy gait, almost lazy and sluggish, but with a twitchiness in the eyes and hands that indicates a readiness for violence.

Striking blue eyes, many scars over any exposed flesh on the arms, chest, or neck.

Has the accent of the Southern human regions.

Personality

Drinks too much, runs his mouth too much, fights too much, and gets his drunken butt kicked too much. As might be expected, all of these often go hand-in-hand.

More than a little mercurial, at turns boisterous and charming, then sullen and moody.

As a human, and veteran of the Second War, has an intense dislike of orcs and trolls. As a veteran of the Third War in the Eastern Kingdoms, the same holds true for all undead (Forsaken included). Therefore, despises the Horde as a whole (is mostly indifferent towards tauren, but considers them enemies due to their allying with orcs, trolls, and Forsaken).

As a paladin, is surprisingly dedicated (considering his general sloppiness) to helping the underdog and eradicating the evils of undeath and the fel.

Is fairly hedonistic for a paladin, and drowns himself in booze and women and combat more than maybe the average paladin does. Seems constantly surprised (and maybe disturbed) that the Light has not abandoned him quite yet.

History

Was born in the fishing town of Lakeshire.

Childhood was hard, and full of toil and struggle, but otherwise peaceful.

Decided to take up the oath of the paladin after arriving in Lordaeron during the Exodus that followed the onset of the Second War. Lost wife during the retreat from Kingdom of Stormwind, lost newborn son during crossing to Lordaeron.

Lost many friends, and some newfound loved ones, during Arthas' destruction of Lordaeron. Sailed west to Kalimdor to help battle the Legion.

Returned to Eastern Kingdoms jaded, bitter, and traumatized. Has spent his time drinking, whoring, and selling his hammer to whoever would pay, particularly on jobs that required putting down orcs, trolls, undead, or demons.

Relationships

  • Is acquaintances with Sil, Nish, and Zi'.
