RP Hooks

  • Gilnean Upper Class: Addie belongs to the upper crust of society and would be known to anyone in society as the daughter of a wealthy merchant.
  • Civil War: Anyone who fought in the civil war may know the Kirbys as having been the subject of an investigation into who provided arms to the rebels. They were cleared and those in the know would be aware of young Stephen Kirby's death fighting for King Greymane, but some suspicion could remain.

Appearance

Addie is an attractive, slender woman in her late 20s with fair skin, long straight red hair, and wide blue eyes. She is, by disposition, quiet and may seem retiring to anyone who isn't observant. Those who are will realize quickly that she may be quiet, but she is watchful and wary.

She tends to dress well but modestly and looks comfortable even in the constricting styles favored by the Gilnean wealthy woman. She moves gracefully and every gesture is considered, subtle, and elegant.

Personality

Passionate - Strong-willed - Perceptive - Judgemental

Beneath all that propriety is a hidden fire. It is held in check by her own willpower, but there is passion in her that shows itself most in the specialty of her magic, fire. There is a sense about her that the tight lacings of society and her own control are all that hold her back, and without them she could well be explosive in more ways than one.

She sees more than most people think, and is quick to judge people based on her observations. This may mean she judges a street urchin as a good person and a noble as beyond the pale; her judgements have little to do with what society dictates. She relies on her own observations. She can be unwavering; once she judges someone, it can be nigh impossible for that perception to be changed and she will be loathe to admit she was wrong.

This character is romanceable.

History

Addelaine is the eldest daughter of a wealthy merchant family that manufactures weapons. She grew up with money on par with some of the lesser noble families and quite believes herself their equal if not their better. To her way of thinking, her family worked for their status and wealth, whereas nobility simply were handed it. She was given lessons in deportment, dancing, riding, art, and music, all things that any noble woman would be expected to know so that she could show admirably in society.

Her relationship with her parents was positive but restrained. One simply did not express emotions all over the place, willy-nilly, not in the Kirby household. Politeness, good manners, and civility were the norm. As the eldest of three children, Addie often was the role model to her younger siblings and became adept at steering them onto the 'correct' path when one of them strayed.

When the civil war occurred, the Kirby family came under close scrutiny. As weapons manufacturers, the Loyalists were concerned that the Kirbys had sold weapons to Crowley rebels. Nothing could be proven, and the family maintains that they staunchly supported Greymane and continue to do so. The fact that Addie's younger brother, Stephen, died fighting for the Loyalists lended some credence to their story.

Addie's youngest sister died during a worgen attack. Addie herself went to fight the worgen when they attacked the city en masse, and was turned during the fighting.

Relationships

Merelda Veyne
Lady Veyne comports herself well. I see nothing here to be of concern, though she does keep some low company. I've heard no ill of those she chooses to sponsor so it may be to her favor that she takes an interest in those beneath her station.
Lukas Rhenardt
Lord Graves is a trifle rough for a noble, but he supports a fine variety of charities. A passable enough sort, for those who like that sort of thing. It was certainly well-done of him to support our family through the aftermath of the civil war.
Thaniel
Thaniel is kind and funny. I quite like him, though he may not be as intelligent as I.
Gabriella Thorne
Tough and competent, quite polished in manner. I find myself content to follow her lead. Is this another facet of my condition?
Zath Tyrrell
Lord Tyrrell is a new acquaintence. I should learn more of him. He seems to dislike his worgen form, or perhaps he was just being careful.
