Appearance

Otto is a twenty-year-old very short man at 5'3", with a dandelion soft cloud of curly strawberry blond hair, and very soft blue eyes that always seem slightly distracted or unfocused when he looks directly at people. His face is round, his mannerisms shy and slow, and he frequently dresses in comfortable clothing that seem best to him at that moment. Sometimes this means wearing something like a beekeeper suit, other times it means looking like an Alteraci goat herder. You can only be sure that to Otto, it makes perfect sense.

Otto is a young man who lives half his life in his own head where things make sense, and half trying to find out why the world seems to have many rules that someone made up and then didn't share with the class. He has no guile to him whatsoever. Otto always speaks the truth, to the best of his perspective and knowledge. He believes that other people do, too, unless or until they tell him they are lying. It's not gullibility so much as following a baseline that as Otto always says what is true, that is what other people must do, too. It confuses him that some people would just lie, as he cannot understand the impulse to do it.

Some people might find Otto childlike, or simple, but there's nothing lacking about his intelligence or his maturity beyond a fragility created by the experiences of surviving the Fall of Lordaeron in Year 20.

Otto likes things to make sense, symmetry, and familiarity. New people and new experiences can frighten him, and his appreciates going through life holding onto the hands of friends and family and other safe people.

History

BIRTHDAY: APRIL 1ST, YEAR 08

Otto was born into the greater House Esprit orbit, the son of the House Esprit gardener. The gardening position skipped a generation of Otto's grandfather, but his great-grandfather was the one who held the position first, trapping the family into the Esprit's inescapable hold afterwards. He inherited the love of pretty flowers, but none of the nature desire to contain it within official means.

During the Fall of Lordaeron, his mother attempted to escape with Isla and Otto after the Esprit Townhouse was overrun with the Scourge. She made it out halfway through the City before being fatally wounded, landing on Otto as she died, breaking his leg. The experience left deep scars in Otto, who had always struggled with his own mind.

He didn't speak a single word for two years after the Fall, until kind-hearted himbo Joran Green helped Otto rebuild a wildflower garden, and the boy uttered his first word since, "Pretty."
