Kreebo and his brothers, Mebok and Wixxil, all work for the Steamwheedle Cartel. However, while Wixxil and Mebok are as greedy and cunning as any goblin, Kreebo was often considered "soft" and sentimental.
Kreebo and Wixxil used to travel together, exploring old ruins and other sites in search of valuables. But they never got along particularly well, and eventually Kreebo chose to go his own way. Mebok was always the most business-savvy of the three, and frequently appointed himself their "manager".
When Kreebo got stuck in Gnomeregan, surrounded by hostile leper gnomes and troggs, he soon learned just how little his brothers thought of him. He was saved only because of the intervention of the Cobalt Blade, as Mebok and Wixxil essentially left him to rot, presuming him dead. Kreebo has never forgotten the Blade's heroism and has frequently come to their aid in the aftermath of his rescue, even at the expense of his brothers.
Playing Kreebo
Kreebo has a softer heart than most goblins. That isn't to say he is a pushover or even overly compassionate. He is still a goblin, but he has learned that loyalty and friendship have real, tangible value and returns. The fact that these things also make it possible to find real connections, and even love, just reinforces his view that it's better to risk trusting and relying on others than not.
Kreebo feels a debt of gratitude to the Cobalt Blade. While it has technically been repaid, he views them as allies, and maybe even friends. He would extend his willingness to cooperate and assist anyone he saw in a Cobalt Company tabard. But in his mind, the Blade are clearly the cream of the crop.
