Patriarch to the Barlowe clan. Karson was originally a farmer in Tirisfal, but lost the farm during the 2nd war. He and his family retreated to the city, where he and his wife took jobs in the guard so they could both protect and provide for their family. After arriving there, Ivrianna was born.

Before the plague arrived, his eldest son, Eckart, joined the Cult of the Damned not realizing it was really a front for darker things. Karson was forced to kill his son in order to rescue Mattias, another son. They fled Lordaeron that night, making their way to Stormwind.

Once there, Karson joined the city guard again.

He was a taciturn man, not given to overly emotional displays, but there was never any doubt that he loved his wife and his family. He never quite recovered from the loss of Eckart. Karson died when the plague swept through Stormwind, along with his wife Josette.

Relationships

Ivrianna Atley
Daughter. He adored his only girl and youngest child, though he tried not to show preference. In her rebellious teen years, he found her impossible to control and sent her off with a friend of a friend, Sir Elohad, to see if a non-family member could control the headstrong, spoiled child.
Dane Atley
Son-in-law. Initially, Karson thought Dane was in over his head with Ivri, but he came to respect and like the man, accepting him into his family. Though he died before Dane and Ivri would marry, there is no doubt that he already considered Dane as Ivri's husband and his son-in-law.
