Helyn Blackwood is the younger sister of Carden Blackwood, a young warlock who went missing a little more than a year ago. From a poor family, the two siblings became orphans during the Third War.
As a teenager, Helyn began spying on the Slaughtered Lamb, curious about the warlocks' practices. Carden ended up joining the ranks of these warlocks, before moving to Ratchet to study with a different group, disgusted by how quickly one he considered inferior to him, Gausanders Spellbond, was progressing. It took a little more than a year for Helyn to follow in her brother's footsteps, learning about the Fel extremely quickly, motivated by her need to know what happened to her brother.
